I Don't Currently Own Any Bobbleheads So Iron Man Will Be My 1st One!

Tina and I are looking forward to the upcoming Iron Man movie starring Robert Downey, Jr as Tony Stark / Iron Man.

This movie is one of the summer's most-anticipated films for comic book and pop culture fans!

So we try to keep our blog readers abreast of what's happening with it and tie-ins with the film when we see something a little more unusual...

There are bobbleheads coming out that show the two versions of the Iron Man armor worn in the film - the Mark I gray armor Tony Stark first designs on the fly... and then the later, the traditional gold and red armor which is shown to the top left!

The bobbleheads are due to ship by Late March, 2008. We won't be selling these, but will definitely have one for the home office!

For Iron Man items we do sell...just click the bobblehead at the top left!

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post!

Smallville TV Show

Action Figures!

Smallville, the TV Show, has many fans that have helped keep the series on the air.

Thanks to their efforts, DC Direct is presenting the launch of the world’s greatest Superhero team in Action Figure forms, 'Smallville' style!

There was a great moment on the Smallville episode titled “Justice,” where some of Earth’s greatest heroes came together for the first time on TV!

The heroes were: Green Arrow (Oliver Queen), Impulse (Bart Allen), Aquaman (Arthur “AC” Curry) and Cyborg (Victor Stone), and of course Superboy (Clark Kent).

These figures are expected to be on sale May 7, 2008 !

She's Not The Green Giant!

She's The Incredible Hulk's Cousin!

And Where's Her Comic Book Movie??? Seems she should get one before some of these other ones in developement!

Especially after what Tina and I saw of the upcoming 2008 'Hulk' Movie at the SDCC program in July of 2007!

Click Here to see Tina's 'Take' on that preview program!

OK, we have posted before that in the late 1980s, Marvel Comics approached Brigitte Nielsen to pose for photographs dressed as the comic book character She-Hulk.

Brigitte had previously impressed the company with her prior portrayal of their character Red Sonja and accordingly they hoped she would prove just as successful in a new movie venture.

Unfortunately the photos that were produced did not enlicit a large amount of investors in the potential film and Marvel was forced to scrap the project.

The top left photo is one that I recently found while looking at Marvel's upcoming films for 2008 - 2009.

The third photo in the left column shows Brigitte modelling a skimpy outfit and I 'photoshopped' the photo to reflect a greenish hue about her, as the She-Hulk is green like her cousin the Incredible Hulk!

You can see that Brigitte definitely had the body double of the She-Hulk at that time!

There are very few pics of Brigitte dressed as the She-Hulk, with the one to at the second left being one of those.  As you can see by comparing the three aforementioned photos, Brigitte would have come across very well as the She-Hulk, alter ego of Jennifer Walters, who is a lawyer in her day job.

Since I first blogged about this previous non-movie that was never made, there has been renewed interest in our previous She-Hulk Movie blog posts. Thus this reposting with the new photo found!

We still have several She-Hulk comics, from the 1980's to the 2000's series. Just click on the photos to the left column to see the listings!

I personally enjoyed the second comics series, which had John Byrne write and pencil the series, where She-Hulk would break the 'fourth wall' and talk to readers of the comics, knowing that she was in a comic book with her adventures being told.  Kind of a strange humour book, but when reading the comic it makes more sense...

That wraps it up for this blog post... But I wanna see She-Hulk in a movie, not her less 'incredible' Hulk cousin's next movie!

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post!

Vampirella!

Earlier this week we listed some Vampirella magazines from Warren Publishing.

We don't usually have those in stock for long, as there are a few generations of fans interested in those items, since 'Vampi' started back in 1969!

Vampirella is a comic book vampire heroine who was created by Forrest J Ackerman for James Warren Publishing's black-and-white horror-comics magazine.

Vampi was developed by writer Archie Goodwin along with artists Frank Frazetta and Tom Sutton.

Vampirella first appeared as a horror-story hostess way back in Vampirella #1 September 1969!

The b-movie actress to the top left is just one of several that have portrayed her at conventions throughout the years!
