Promo Comics!

The new season of Kyle XY has started!

There are so few shows on right now that we watch, that it is hard to remember the few that are on... besides 'Lost' and this week's Return of 'Jericho'!

We discovered the Kyle XY show at the 2007 San Diego Comic Con International and quickly caught up to it by renting the DVDs and seeing some online.

The show returned to the ABC Family channel January 14th, 2008 and is scheduled for 10 new shows for this Season 2.5 (3?).

"Sheena"

TV Series!

Jungle Comics are a comic book genre that is starting to come back into favor, what with Sheena, Shanna and other Jungle Queens being redone today as GGA (Good Girl Art)!

While listing more Jungle Comics today, I came across a TV Series that I don't remember watching, that ran from 2000 - 2002.

Sheena was played by Gena Lee Nolin. Other main characters were played by John Allen Nelson, Margo Moorer, and Kevin Quigley.

The more 'collectable' Sheena that collectors adore was Irish McCalla that played Sheena in the 1st TV Sheries in the mid 1950's.

This 2nd series transformed the Jungle Goddess into a contemporary woman with an uneven cast in the opinions of most Sheena fans...

Currently we are listing Jungle Action, Jungle Adventures, Ka-Zar Lord of the Jungle, and Astonishing Tales featuring Ka-Zar. We do have the Sheena Movie Comics available also.

We are running the photo at the top left in conjuction with our jungle comics and mags that we have purchased and are now listing in our eBay Featured Store!

February Is Black History Month

So We Are Taking The Time To Feature Our African-American Superheroes!

Several times in the past we have been asked about African-American Super-heroes comic books.... basically why is it that we just don't list that many for sale.....???

Well, there really aren't that many mainstream African-American Super-heroes comic books usually listed here for sale.... because there just haven't been that many printed during the years, period!

When attending the Wonder-Con comic book convention, when it was held in Oakland, California, we ran across a few independent publishers that were printing African-American Superheroes comics, but they were finding that distribution was hard to get going on their comics.

Since we basically sell comics from the Silver and Bronze Age eras of comics (1956 - 1982), we just picked up some for our own reading to see what they were like, but not for resale purposes.

For those interested in Black Superheroes from the Silver Age and Bronze Age comics we have the following notes....

...Power Man, also known as Luke Cage Hero for Hire, was a member of the Fantastic Four team for a while, when the Thing lost his powers temporarily.

Black Goliath was a friend of Hank Pym, who was Ant-man and then Giant-Man.

Black Lightning was a DC superhero.... written by Tony Isabella.

There just hasn't been that many titles printed with African-American superheroes...

However, the few that we do have, have been listed. We have a few Black Goliath, Luke Cage aka Power Man, Black Lightning, and a 'black Wakandan African King' Black Panther comic books listed in our eBay Featured Premium Store.

Thus we do salute the attempts by a few publishers to publish African-American superheroes, but like any other endeavor, the printers need support from the fan base.

Jericho

TV Show Returns This Week!

This is an update on the show. Tina and I watched Disc 6 of the 1st Season DVD Set Saturday night in preparation for this week's 2nd Season Return! If you have a chance you should rent this last disc with the final two episodes (#21 & #22) plus the two special bonus features on the show!

Back in November 2007, compiling info from Web Sites and Blogs, I found that the WGA Strike had affected the start of the TV Show's 2nd Season...

However the Series is back as of this week with a 'short season'. The new episodes are a self contained storyline, so that if there isn't another 'season' or 'mini-season' after this one, viewers won't be left totally hanging like at the end of the first season!

For those interested in TV shows like 'Jericho', 'Lost', 'Invasion', 'Surface', etc., we have several Movie and TV based comic books or magazines in our eBay Featured Store . Just click on the link provided!

Spiderwick Chronicles

This Upcoming Movie Was Previewed At The SDCC Comic Con By Tina

If you're a fan of these children's books, the movie looks terrific!

Paramount Pictures previewed a trailer at San Diego Comic Con. What an adventure, what a magical world, what a terrific production!

Unfortunately, the creators also showed us, in painstaking detail, how the creatures were created and the action filmed. YAWN.........

It made for some very boring background on a what looks to be an exciting movie.

As the director explained, they hope the Spiderwick Chronicles movie will do for fairies and goblins what Jurassic Park did for dinosaurs!

The movie is set for release on February 14th, 2008.
