 To Drop On Jericho?

The 2nd Season of the Jericho TV Show is to be a short one, as we knew going into it...

However, Tina and I have found the first three episodes to be moving faster for us, and in our opinion is better this 2nd truncated season.

Possibly because the producers knew they only had 8 episodes to build up their audience.

Unfortunately the 'critics' don't like the faster paced episodes as they don't have more 'characterization'.

Additionally, the show now shown at 10pm, had its' premiere episode fail to beat a rerun of 'Law and Order', and an original episode of 'Boston Legal'.

We like Boston Legal, but decided to tape Jericho instead to view the next day each week.

The 'Nuts' campaign worked on CBS, but this looks like it'll be the last Season for Jericho unless the ratings pick up....

For those interested in TV shows like 'Jericho', 'Lost', 'Invasion', 'Surface', etc., we have several Movie and TV based comic books  or magazines in our eBay Featured  Store .  Just click on the link provided! !

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post!

For The Next Season!

'Final' news for NBC’s 'Bionic Woman' TV Show fans...

The show had been forced to shut down production because of the writer’s strike.

With the WGA Strike now over, the networks are showcasing what will be on the rest of this season and what will be back for the Fall Season.

Michelle Ryan is back in Great Britain after hearing the news of the show not coming back...

That is the subject of several news articles for today, and I thought we would pass this along to our blog readers as we had blogged about several episodes here...

For Tina and myself, the shutdown due to the strike was mixed news. This latest news is OK with us as we just couldn't take the show anymore as it ended up several episodes in. (See our earlier blog posts for details.)

Tina hadn't been thrilled with the show since it previewed at the SDCC at the end of July 2007. See our previous blog post for her review on the 'Pilot' episode, which was changed for actual airing after we saw it!

As for myself, I had been watching it each week, hoping it would get better. Tina had hung in there with me on this show but after the episode on 11-14-07 with the death of Antonio Pope, (played by Isaiah Washington), I realized I should have had more feeling about the death of this key player.

Unfortunately I did not... and realized that the show was not one that I would be watching when the Strike was over.

This show did not place on Tina's or my Top 20 TV Show list in an earlier blog post, and we had stopped blogging about it until today...

A sad ending to what should have been better.  The crowd at the SD Comic Con was really into the preview and word of mouth was good at first...

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post!

Michael (and Tina)

American Idol TV Show
02-20-08 Our Take!

Last Night it was the 'girls' who performed... all 12 of them in a 2 hour show. Here are our 'scores', (based on 1-10, 10 being highest), on each performance with the 4th column showing the difference between my score and Tina's score. The 'girls' are listed in order of performance presented during the night, NOT by numerical score:
The 'Girls'

4Amanda Overmyer   10.0   0.010.0

11Syesha Mercado    9.0 0.09.5
12Carly Smithson    7.5  0.58.0

FYI, for those that followed our American Idol Blog Posts last season... you'll know that Tina and I usually don't agree on the contestants performances until the final weeks.

However again last night, the differences between are scores were very close except for #2 & #3.  The 'girls' seemed to be 'hotter' than the guys because of the following averages for the 1st Night:
Guys = Michael  7.417  avg     Tina = 7.750 avg
Gals  = Michael  8.583 avg      Tina = 8.208 avg

What we do this early in the process is to vote for the highest one or two contestants per the score we gave them.  Amanda Overmyer and Ramiele Malubay were both our top picks for the night so they each received our votes!

When the Top 24 start getting down to the Top 12, then we'll start adding more than just a 'numerical' score. Due to space limitations on the eBay Blog format where this blog post usually originates from, we only have so much room to blog...

Well... that's it for 'The Boys'... and 'The Girls'.  Tonight is the Results Show where 2 Boys and 2 Girls are going home!
For those that missed our previous blog posts on this TV Show.... Please see the following link for our most previous blog post. We have been blogging about Season 7 since the first week:

Dick Ayers

Comic Book Artist!

I have mentioned Dick Ayers before in our Blog, basically my appreciation of his inking of Jack Kirby's Monster Comics and Fantastic Four early issues.

However, I have neglected to state that Dick was a fine penciller in his own right!

He pencilled many of the Jimmy Durante Comics, and then Atlas Comics Sci-Fi stories, and in later years pencilled Sgt Fury & His Howling Commandos for Marvel.

Not to mention: The Original Ghost Rider, the Incredible Hulk, Two-Gun Kid, the Human Torch of the 1950's, and stories for Charlton Comics during the 1950's!

I enjoyed his 1996 series, 'Dr Wonder' when he returned to comics after teaching at the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Arts!

This is an early 'Happy Birthday' To Dick who was born April 28, 1924 in Ossining, New York!

I have had the pleasure of meeting Dick at a few Comic Cons, and he is a real treat to listen to about the Gold & Silver Ages of Comics when he is on panel!

Speaking of Comic cons, we have an ongoing comic book convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale! Just click on the pic at the top left to see our different genres listings!

Thanks for reading our pop culture - comics - comic book blog post!

However last night, the difference between are scores were less than 1.0 points each until contestant #11.  I like the original song, but the performance was not right for me. Otherwise I was amazed at close Tina and I rated the performances!
What we do this early in the process is to vote for the highest one or two contestants per the score we gave them.  Michael Johns was the top pick for both of us so he got our votes last night!
