TODAY'S FEATURE - Blog #3373:

Yesterday morning I woke up to the news that Elizabeth Taylor had died...

During the day I started posting pics of comic book photo covers of Elizabeth that I found she had graced the cover of during her lifetime. Such as the one to the left, the April 1950 issue of GIRL COMICS, issue #3. From Atlas Comics (pre-Marvel Comics days).

The top right photo of this blog is one that I'm sharing here for the first time, New Romances #11 from Standard Comics, circa 1952.  Standard Comics was a comics publisher that believed that Movie Stars like Elizabeth Taylor & Montgomery Clift, (seen from their movie together, 'A Place In The Sun'), would sell comics.

How many comic book covers did Elizabeth Taylor grace during her lifetime?  That I don't know, but I will be adding more to the tribute album I've started on my own Facebook Fan Page, 'Michael D Hamersky On Comics', at this link, 'Elizabeth Taylor On Comic Book Covers'.

YOU are welcome to share ones I haven't posted yet at that link. When doing so, please cite the title and issue number, and year published if known.

There are many magazine covers that Elizabeth Taylor was depicted on during her lifetime, and I'm sure there will be many more now with her passing.  Since my blog niche is 'comics', I'm only posting comic book covers at that link, but may include some interior pages that Elizabeth was featured in.  There are also a few of those...

Again, this mini-project is only published as a 'Tribute' to Elizabeth Taylor.  I do NOT have any of these for sale in my online Local Comic Book Shop, (LCBS).

My condolences to the family and friends of Elizabeth Taylor.

For more on Elizabeth Taylor's life and contributions to society, please see the Wikipedia entry on her.
