TODAY'S FEATURE - Blog #3503

When the most recent package from Smarter Comics came in with graphic novels for possible review... I decided to grab it first, as it's been Tina who has been reading these first and wanting to review blog them, (as seen here).

Which has been okay with me, as she has been promoting business authors for some time now, with their book launches.  So it was only natural for her to want to see those same business books that she has either read or promoted transformed into sequentially illustrated books.

However, this sequentially illustrated book, (aka graphic novel format), is one that I had to read.  That's because I've read the original book in text format, and a hard time reading  & digesting it.

Possibly because it is such an 'old' book.  Written by Napoleon Hill back in 1937, this is a true 'classic'.  Yet it is written in such a style that it takes a while to 'digest' it properly to be able to utilize the information that is presented in each chapter.

For those of you that don't know what the book is about... Here is what the publisher says of this 2nd Edition:

Want to learn the principles of getting rich in less than an hour? Take the illustrated advice of Napoleon Hill, whose observations make up the heart of the best-selling classic “Think and Grow Rich.” Now updated into an engaging comic book format, you can quickly glean Hill’s wisdom from these beautifully illustrated panels.

Since its publication, the book has sold over 30 million copies. Widely regarded as the greatest wealth building guide of all time, “Think and Grow Rich” isn’t just a great read; it’s chock full of money-making secrets laid out in simple steps. Inspired by a suggestion from Andrew Carnegie on how to not only achieve your dream but get rich while doing it, the book is a testament to ingenuity, foresight, discipline, and above all, the accumulation of wealth without the sacrifice of passion.

Learn why your thoughts are worth millions of dollars, and why faith removes limitations. Learn how to overcome procrastination and embrace the moment. Understand that temporary defeat is not failure and winners never quit. Above all, you can enjoy learning the underlying philosophies of wealth building while perusing a comic book. Start thinking and growing rich today!

So what's 'My Take' on this 2nd Edition?

I found this to be so much easier to read AND 'digest'.  Truly written for those that want to take the time to read, comprehend, and implement what is presented in each chapter as each chapter is presented.

'Think & Grow Rich' was one of the first books I read during my introduction to motivational speakers back in the day.  I found it to be a little 'dated' at the time, especially when the author writes about his experiences with Andrew Carneige who died back in 1919.  It was just a pretty 'dry' book, and reminded me of reading a textbook for college.

This 2nd Edition by Smarter Comics isn't 'dry' at all. Which is why I'm giving it a NEAR MINT (NM) 9.4 out of a possible 10.0 comic book grading scale. If you have to read this book for a class or a study group, I would suggest also reading this sequentially illustrated book to help you comprehend what is being presented visually. I'd suggest the same if you are reading the book for your own personal motivational purposes!

NOTE:  The publisher has multiple ways you can purchase this book! Here is the link to where you can purchase it direct from them at SmarterComics!  Either ebook via iPhone, Android, online, iPad, android tablet, or hard copy!
