Michael D Hamersky On Comics Presents His Take On The Top Five Comic Book Based TV Shows Of The 2014 / 2015 Season

My Top Five!

TODAY'S FEATURE IS BLOG #4023 -    I finished watching Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. last night, which is the lead in episode for the Avengers II - Age of Ultron film that starts running this upcoming Friday in theaters.

Which reminded me that I hadn't posted a blog on my personal Top Five Comic Book Based TV Shows for this current season that is winding down.

I have already blogged on Agent Carter, (blog #4022), but not on the others.  There are currently eight comic book based TV shows on television this season.  Here are my Top Five:

# 1 Agent Carter (Marvel)

# 2 The Flash (DC)

# 3 Arrow (DC)

# 4 Gotham (DC)

# 5 Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Marvel)

I don't watch Constantine or iZombie, nor Daredevil, which just started on Netflix that I don't subscribe to.

There are other upcoming tv shows in the works, but I'm just blogging on what you could currently see, or view in the Summer re-runs.

Here's my thoughts on this Season's shows:

Agent Carter - A very nice limited TV series.  I liked this series very much, and didn't set my DVR to record to watch later. I actually watched it each night it was on.  The cast was very good in their roles, and the storylines kept my interest. I'm looking forward to Season Two of this series.   When it is re-run you should check it out!

The Flash - Just started this season.  I found the cast to be very chosen for their roles.  The storylines were pretty darn good as well.  I'm not a DC fanatic, so the changing of the background story didn't affect me as much.  I have read Flash comics, but basically only in the Silver Age of Comics.  You should check this series out!

Arrow -  The storylines this year were a little muddled, and I just DVRd this series to watch.  I like most of the cast, but the stories just didn't hold my interest as much this season.

Gotham -  Really weird series, and a little too dark for me.  But I have hung in there and caught it via DVR.  There are good good points to this series, but the subplots run all over the place.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. -  Too many characters this season for me.  I've lost some interest in the series this season.  I liked the comic book series and the main cast of this show.  Hopefully next season will be better..

Here are some links of interest about these TV Series for you to check out:

Agent Carter on IMDb.com

Agent Carter in Marvel Comics issues

You can check these out over the Summer, and then be caught up for next season.
