That's Right! Here Comes Trouble!! Our Blog Posts About Alvin and the Chipmunks Upcoming Movie... ... Which Is Not Being Released Until December 14, 2007, Is Still One of Our Most Looked At Blog Topics! Seriously, even now during the reallllly HOT Summer! Maybe everyone wants to think about a snowy winer right now??? LOL ! Our eBay Blog Posts being searchable on Google.com and on several Blog Directories might be directing some of that traffic toward our way, but I think it is funny that this movie, which isn't out until later in the year is still getting so many looks at on our blog right now! Of course The Chipmunks have gained a few generations of fans during the years! The Chipmunk trio and Dave Seville made recording, broadcasting and merchandising history by selling 43 million albums, starring in their own animated primetime series, plus numerous primetime specials, and the number one network Saturday Morning shows seen in over 100 countries in 40 languages during the course of their existence. I enjoyed Alvin and the Chipmunks as a kid, and of course had one of their Christmas albums that would drive anyone nuts playing it too long! Those squeaky voices can get to you after a while.... Anyway as a recap, even though we are blogging about many upcoming movies like Beowulf, the Chipmunks Movie topic is getting more hits than any of our previous movie blog posts! For those interested in Funnybooks and humor genre of cartoon comic books, we have several for sale in our eBay Featured Store, and there is one Alvin comic left at this blog post time! Thanks for reading this pop culture / comic book blog post and if YOU know of any new development on Alvin, please let us know by commenting below!!!Michael | Note From Make It So Marketing: Each comic book or magazine in our eBay Featured Store is individually graded, inventoried, priced, bagged and boarded, before being listed for sale! | Hi-Yo Silver.... Away!!! Black Beauty... Away??? "Return with us now, to those thrilling days of yesteryear..." when The Lone Ranger had several series of comic books as well as a TV Show!! I blogged earlier how I love this time of year when there are upcoming TV Shows that I am eager to see! One of my All-Time Favorites was the Green Hornet Show of 1966-67. Would you believe that Britt Reid, (aka Green Hornet), was related to the Lone Ranger?? He was the grand-nephew of the Lone Ranger! No Kidding!! Check out their histories when you get a chance! Their relationship is why I titled this blog post the way I did comparing Silver to the Black Beauty! I also posted earlier about the Green Hornet Gold Key comic books based on the TV Show. In comparison one of the most popular Dell Comics titles for collectors are the Lone Ranger Comics run. The Dell Comic Book title ran for 145 issues from January 1948 to May 1962. The photo covers with Clayton Moore are the main reason for this title's popularity, (see comic book cover to the top left for example). Growing up in the 1950's I watched a lot of westerns on TV. I didn't get to see many movies until the mid 1960's as they cost money and I was buying comics for my entertainment with my allowance. However I did get to see the TV show with Clayton Moore which originally ran from 1950 - 1957. There was a break after two years of show where Clayton had a salary dispute and he was temporarily replaced. That I don't really remember, but found that out while researching for this blog post. I didn't see the two feature films starring Clayton and Jay Silverheels, the last one being released in 1959. Clayton basically left acting after that and spent several years in public appearances as the Lone Ranger. My main interest in the Lone Ranger was his TV show and the comics. I would put him up there with Roy Rogers, and Gene Autry, as three of my personal standout late 1950's cowboy heroes. Clayton passed away in 1999, but his work as the Lone Ranger lives on in TV reruns and DVDs, especially now that so many households have DVD players and the cost of the DVD TV episodes have become so reasonably priced! For those interested in the Lone Ranger Comics run and other Western Comics, we have several listed in our eBay Featured Store. The Lone Ranger issues usually are picked up pretty quick though pardner!! Thanks for reading this pop culture - comics -comic book blog post, and feel free to post your thoughts / memories / etc. below!! Michael Thank YOU for being one of our

.... That I Would Get Excited About... No... NOT School... ( even tho' I Was An 'A' Student ) But The New Television Season!
This year is going to be one of the best TV Seasons since the mid-1960's for me!! You can see by all of our previous blog posts that there is a LOT of good TV on right now and more coming at the end of September for the New Season! Only thing is... the New Season seems to keep starting later and later.... thank goodness for EUReKA, The 4400, and others already starting on cable TV! One of my favorite shows of the Sixties was the Green Hornet! It's been 41 Television Seasons since the 1966-67 TV Show first ran! I can still remember when I first heard the 'Flight of the Bumblebee' that was the theme music of the show! The show was inspired by the success of the Batman series. ABC brought The Green Hornet to television in the 1966-67 TV Season, which introduced martial arts master Bruce Lee to American audiences and starred Van Williams as the Green Hornet. Unlike the Batman show, the TV version of The Green Hornet was played straight, but it was cancelled after only one season. However, the meteoric rise of Bruce Lee as a major cult movie star ensured continued interest in the television property. As a matter of fact, Bruce Lee's popularity in Hong Kong, where he was raised, was such that the show was marketed there as 'The Kato Show' ! The TV series displayed the Hornet's car, the 'Black Beauty', as a 1965 Chrysler Imperial customized by Dean Jeffries. I named my new bike 'The Black Beauty' as I was very enamored of the TV Show! I later met Van Williams at a SDCC Comic Con show where he was signing autographs for the NOW Green Hornet series! That signature is NOT for sale! It was also in 1967 that Gold Key Comics produced a comic book series based on the TV show, which mirrored that program's short life with a brief three-issue print run, with the first issue pictured to the top right! I never met Bruce Lee, but saw a program at the LA Sci-Fi & Comic Con where his brother showed home movies of the Lee family... (For those interested in Gold Key comic books, we have a few listed in our eBay Featured Store.) Thanks for viewing this pop culture - comics - comic book blog post.... and feel free to comment below about YOUR favorite TV shows, old or new or upcoming! Michael
