We attend several pop culture and comic books conventions during the year to replenish our inventory for resale! | Tina Joins The Crew of The Starship Enterprise... ...You can see her at the left of Lt. Uhura. Doesn't she look excited to be traveling at warp speed??!! I think she has a touch of motion sickness, by the pained expression on her face! You too can join the Federation for a 'Seven Hour Tour' by visiting the 'Star Trek Experience' at the Las Vegas Hilton like Tina and I did. It was a blast! Until then, you can read about (her co-stars') adventures in the Star Trek Comics we have in our eBay Featured Store! They are a 'must-have' for all serious Trekkies! Click here to see current listings!

We attend several pop culture and comic books conventions during the year to replenish our inventory for resale! | New Interest in DAZZLER.... the Movie ??? Could be.... Our previous Dazzler Blog Post is getting a lot more interest in this past week by the number of visitors finding it! There were rumours that Jessica Biel was to portray the Dazzler, (aka Alison Blaire), who is a Marvel Comics superhero, usually associated with the X-Men. Dazzler first appeared in Uncanny X-Men #130 (February 1980), as shown to the left. Dazzler was a mutant with the ability to convert sound vibrations into light and energy beams. She was originally developed as a cross-promotional, multi-media creation between the companies of Casablanca Records, Filmworks, and Marvel Comics until those tie-ins were dropped later... Dazzler started off as a Dico Queen, but with the start of her own series, and disco starting to fade, she sang more rock songs as her series progressed in New York City ! Dazzler's comic book series started off with a successfull launch, lost its' way and was changed to a more generic superheroine comic near the end of her series. She disappeared for a while in the Marvel Universe and was recently brought back... For Dazzler to become a successful movie today might be a stretch.... For those interested in Dazzler and other Marvel Superhero comic books, we have a slugfest full in our eBay Featured Store. If interested in Dazzler comics, just click on the comic book cover to the top left l Thanks for reading this blog post, and feel free to comment! Michael |

We attend several pop culture and comic books conventions during the year to replenish our inventory for resale! | Howard the Duck That Is !!! Howard the Duck last ran for President back in 1976, as seen by the now RARE Howard the Duck Campaign Button to the right. Howard was originally just a comic book character, but he became a movie star (some say flop) in the 1986 film produced by Lucasfilm and Universal Pictures, after his presidential campaign bid fizzled out... The film about his life on Earth was directed by Willard Huyck from a script by Huyck and his wife Gloria Katz. The film starred Lea Thompson, Jeffrey Jones, Tim Robbins, and Chip Zien as the voice of Howard. Supposedly the film was inspired by the Marvel Comics characters Howard the Duck and Beverly Switzler who were created by Steve Gerber, although their appearance and portrayals in the film almost completely ignored their original source material. The film was widely panned by the critics and was known as a box office bomb and reviled by fans, but it renewed enough attention on the character for the Marvel Comics Group to keep Howard the Duck in the Marvel Universe as a Guest Star here and there.... So since Howard the Duck isn't as busy as he once was, perhaps it is time for us to draft him as a presidential candidate again! Instead of these early mud-slinging verbal contests, and candidate sniping videos, Howard would excel at 'shaking the tail feathers' contests!! Especially since the Rock Band 'Kiss' has special interest in performing at his gigs, (See issues #12 & #13 of his first solo series). For those interested in figuring out if Howard is truly the one to vote for, we have several comic books about his early adventures in our eBay Featured Store! Check them out and vote early (and often!!). Thanks for reading this pop culture -comic blog post, and feel free to comment below!! Michael |
