Bolts and Colts Fans!

The pictures to the left are the Latest Football Whirligigs that are now available for sale!

The pictures show the Quarterbacks that are currently playing for the Colts and Bolts!

Yesterday I went on a day excursion with my Dad, who informed me that he hand crafted those two whirligigs and placed them in his eBay Store for football fans!

So I thought I'd do the 'good son' thing and blog about them in our Blog!

Believe it or not, Tina and I actually catch the games of the Chargers, Eagles, and Chiefs when they are broadcast in our area!

We do watch more than just Sci-Fi TV Shows and Comic Book Movies! LOL !

The Marvel Universe "Without" Captain America.... 

We blogged about the 'Death of Captain America' when it made Big News on March 7th earlier this year.

Since then, there have been several stories about who would replace 'Steve Rogers' as Captain America.

Well, just like the 'Death of Superman' world shaking issue, most 'deaths' in the comic book world don't always last!

In the Marvel Universe the superhero community was shaken by the assassination of Cap.

The Punisher adopted a costume similar to that of Captain America's.

Winter Soldier  sought to avenge his death and stole Cap's famous shield!

Wolverine, (of X-Men fame), also sought to avenge Cap's death.

Publicly, Captain America was  laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery, under a monument built in his honor.

However, the body in Arlington was a fake!

Tony Stark, (a.k.a. Iron Man) was accompanied by Hank (Ant-Man) Pym and Janet (Wasp) Van Dyne, and returned Steve Rogers' real body to the Arctic where he was found all those years ago, frozen in ice! (Avengers vol 1 Issue #4.)

Namor (the Sub-Mariner) attended the small private ceremony and swore that as long as he ruled the Seven Seas, no one would disturb Captain America's rest!

There is a lot going on in the Captain America comics right now as you can see by the above!

No, now according to Entertainment Tonight's show tonite, she has been cast as that Wonderful Wonder Woman in the New JLA movie I blogged earlier about!

Ya gotta have a scorecard with all of these changes in casting going on!!

Allright...

The DVD Rental Service Says It Was Mailed Today !

This ONE I have been waiting for!

I saw it as a twelve year old up on Kodiak Island, Alaska at the Navy Base's large screen theater.

At Kodiak Island we had like one TV station that we could get reception for!  So during the 3 years my dad was stationed there, I did see several movies as well as collect comics!

This movie had vivid scenes, and was a great story! It was one of my first Sci-Fi movies and probably one of the reasons why this film genre is still one of my favorites today!

Plus, you gotta place it in time... in 1964 it was still 5 years before Neil Armstrong stepped on the Moon.  The USA and the Soviet Union were racing for that goal, so something set on Mars was really Sci-Fi !

For those that have never seen it, 'Robinson Crusoe on Mars' was a 1964 science fiction film 'retelling' of the classic novel by Daniel Defoe, except it was set on the Planet Mars instead of an island on Earth!

It was fantastically directed by Byron Haskin, and produced by Aubrey Schenck.

The big thing to me as a kid was that storyline was fantastic! There was no need for blood, gore and HoRRoR scenes in this film to get the storyline across!

The film also starred some great acting by actors Paul Mantee, Victor Lundin and Adam West (who of course two years later went on to become TV's Batman!).

This may seem like an oddball film with the title of the movie as it is, but there are many Sci-Fi fans that have been waiting for this film to appear on DVD!

Originally in the 'Lower 48 States', this film was paired with other drive-in fare, but don't miss it because of that! 

This DVD has been released as a 'Special Edition' on September 18th. Not to be missed!

And no, we don't sell it, but making our blog readers aware of this new release!
