Raquel Welch's Kryptonite Charm!

One of my favorite actresses, Raquel Welch, was a guest star on the second season of "Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman"

She was in an episode titled 'Top Copy!

She played a 'hot' TV reporter who also happened to be a former Intergang assasin!

She learned Superman's secret identity, and told the world!

As our regular blog readers know, I basically watched this show for Teri Hatcher.... but there were actually some great scenes in these episodes without her believe it or not!!!

It is so cool that more and more DVD collections are coming out on old TV Shows now! And that we can buy them on eBay (or rent them elsewhere)!
If you were a fan of Lois and Clark, or the old Superman TV show from the 1950's like I was, you could also check out our Superman Family comic books in our eBay Featured Comic Book Store for more great reading and/or collecting!

Thanks for viewing this pop culture - comics - comic books blog post!

Who Will Be The Next Great American Band 11-30-07 Episode
Mood:  quizzical
Topic: TV Shows

TV and Movie Comics Listed Here!  Rock Comics Listed Here!

Rod Stewart Songs Were 'Covered' By
The Next Great American Band!
If You Missed LastWeek's Episode
Here Is 'Our Take' On
'The Next Great American Band'
TV Show on the Fox Network!
The 11-30-07 Episode

For those of you that missed this 11-30-07 show... The episode continued with the 1 hour format.
Each band called to perform did a cover of a song by Rod Stewart.  There were no original songs by the bands tonight as was the case in most of the earlier shows.

This blog post is similar to our format on 'Our Take' Of American Idol Performance Shows that we do when AI is in season.

The following is 'Our Take' on the Night's Performances in Numerical Grading.  You can see by the 'spread' that there is a difference of opinion between us on several of  the performances:

Our Numerical Grading Of
The 11-30-07 Episode

8.00.58.5
4The Clark Brothers/ Your'e In My Heart7.01.08.0
5Light of Doom5.02.57.5

For those that missed our previous blog posts on this TV Show, Here are a few of the more recent ones:

Due to space limitations, the following are just a few notes from this nite:

Tina says that DOT DOT DOT is the most commercial band that is left, not that they are her favorite...
Denver & MHO - Denver himself is their 'weakest link' says Tina, as the band plays good, but the vocal is usually weak...
The Clark Brothers should have played 'Mandolin Wind' tonite, instead of their choice says Tina...
Sheila is such 'a Paula' says Tina, referring to Sheila acting like Paula Abdul on the AI Show
Here's a change!  Dicko says the Bands can hire and fire members even at this point to shore up their weaknesses!
The Last 2 in the Green Room were Tres Bien and Light of Doom, both Tina and I wanted Tres Bien.... oh well!
Next week:  The Band with the lowest vote count won't play next week.... So No 'Results Show' like American Idol.
Next week the performances are covers on ???

Glad something is finally on Friday Nights for us!

For those that are wondering what the 'tie-in' is for us... we have Rock Comic Books and Magazines for sale in our eBay Featured Store!

She Was The Queen Of Diamonds!

Even though I personally enjoyed her with Elvis Presley in the movie 'King Creole', and most of America remembers her as Morticia Adams in the TV series 'The Addams Family', she was a star villain in the 1966 Batman TV Series !!

Carolyn played the villain 'Marsha Queen of Diamonds' in episodes #57 & 58 first shown 11-23-66 & 11-24-66.

Marsha wanted the Batdiamond, an oversized gem which provides power to the Batcomputer.

During the opening episode she leaves Chief O'Hara, Commissioner Gordon and others lovesick behind her! Batman is able to resist her charms but Robin is hit with one of Marsha's 'love darts' and succumbs to her.

Batman demands that Marsha release the Boy Wonder to his senses and she agrees as long as Batman will marry her!

These two episodes were far different from the standard Pow! Bam! Zowie! episodes where Batman and Robin fought the bank robbing, riddle dropping, male criminals of the series.... but these episodes never ranked high with most of the audience, which included a lot of adults in the first two seasons of this three season TV show !

So, unfortunately we didn't get to see more of Marsha Queen of Diamonds, but instead saw repeated episodes of Mr Freeze, King Tut and other standard lower tiered villains !!

For those interested in DC comic books, we have several in our eBay Featured Store !

Thanks for reading our pop culture - comics - comic book blog post!

Hotter & Hotter !

I am sitting here humming the 'Iron Man' song by Black Sabbath, after shipping out all the packages today that were paid for.

Still looking forward to the upcoming IRON MAN movie in May 2008!

Tina and I enjoyed seeing the Iron Man cast appear at the San Diego Comic Con in July, and the teaser trailer that was shown TWICE there due to audience demand!

Iron Man has never had a live action movie before, so this is an exciting waiting period for Iron Man fans!

We are having a hard time restocking Iron Man comics for sale as there is a good demand for back issues right now!

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post!

Virtual Visitors Have Viewed Our Blog Posts!

We hit the 35,000th mark of visitors with a little over 106,300 page views at approximately 10:55 AM PDT today, December 7th!

Even with the busy shopping season going on, we are seeing increased viewership to our blog posts!
For that, we want to thank all of you for taking the time during your busy day or night to visit us!

For those readers that are new to us, here is a little background on our Blog:

This Blog started June 7th 2006 shortly after eBay announced the new blogging format.

On July 15th 2006 we added on a stats counter as we found most viewers read but didn't comment and we wanted to know if we were being 'read' at all and from where!

We also started expanding our pop culture topics as we found that more and more bloggers finding us, enjoyed several of the TV Shows that we also enjoyed. Thus 'Our Take' on episodes on TV Shows that we watch was born! Unfortunately the WGA Strike is affecting those blog posts in the near future!

Again, we want to thank ALL of you for stopping in and visiting our Blog today.

If there are topics we don't discuss but could fit our pop culture - comic books - sci fi - TV Show - Movies related theme, feel free to e-mail us!

Sorry, but our comments option is turned off due to spammers from 'China' hitting our blog posts and other eBay Bloggers in recent weeks!

To view our most recent blog posts, just click on the photo 'squares' in the left column to view those topics!

Also for those that have emailed us regarding our older archived blog posts being distorted:

Please be aware that eBay techs have revised the blogging format, thus our pre September 15, 2007 archived posts may be hard to read... sorry about that, but it is out of our control here!

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post!
