What A Siren!

That Was Joan Collins' Role on The Batman TV Show!

By Season 3 of the Batman TV Show there had been many guest star villains.

One that hadn't made it yet to the show was Joan Collins who starred in Episode #97.

Her appearance was aired on 9-28-67 in an episode titled 'The Wail of The Siren'.

By this time the show had gone to only once a week, so this was not a two-parter story.

A shame because Joan looked really good in this episode! She was only 34 years of age at this taping.

Joan was seen in several TV Shows in the 1960's as a guest star, including Mission Impossible, Police Woman, and my favorite appearance of hers, the Star Trek episode 'The City On The Edge of Forever'!

This was before her breakrout role in the TV Show 'Dynasty' which made her a sex symbol in her 50's !

For those interested in Batman comic books, we have several for sale in our eBay Featured Store !

Thanks for reading our pop culture - comics - comic book blog post!

Carl Barks Ducks?

You may be asking yourself ... "Who was Carl Barks and why should I care"?

Well for those of you that grew up reading Disney Comics for several years, the artists and writers were not credited for many reasons we won't go into in this short blog post.

Suffice to say, that Carl Barks was a long time Disney Studio illustrator and comic book creator.

Carl is the creator who invented Duckburg and many of its inhabitants, such as Uncle Scrooge McDuck (1947), Gladstone Gander (1948), the Beagle Boys (1951), Gyro Gearloose (1952), Flintheart Glomgold (1956) and Magica De Spell (1961)!

It was the quality of his scripts and drawings that earned him the nicknames of "The Duck Man" and "The Good Duck Artist" as his name wasn't credited.

For those interested in Carl Barks duck comic books, we have several listed in our eBay Featured Store.

Disney Comics have been published by Dell, Gladstone, and others throughout the years, including even by Disney Productions for a while!

Thanks for reading our pop culture - comics - comic book blog post!

We hit the 37,000th mark of visitors with approximately 109,400 total page views at approximately 10:52 AM PDT today, December 11th, with the visitor checking out our September 10th, 2007 archived blog post on Ms.Limelight from Stan Lee's "Who Wants To Be A Superhero" TV Show!

With the busy shopping season going on, we are seeing increased viewership to our blog posts! Our 99 Cents Stocking Stuffer blog posts have had a lot of hits the past week from prospective buyers!
As a matter of fact, Saturday December 8th was our 'Biggest Visitor Day' in our blog's history with 567 visitors! And Monday December 10th was our Third Biggest Visitor Day with 505 Visitors!
For that, we want to thank all of you for taking the time during your busy day or night to visit us!

For those readers that are new to us, here is a little background on our Blog:

This Blog started June 7th 2006 shortly after eBay announced the new blogging format.

On July 15th 2006 we added on a stats counter as we found most viewers read but didn't comment and we wanted to know if we were being 'read' at all and from where!

We also started expanding our pop culture topics as we found that more and more bloggers finding us, enjoyed several of the TV Shows that we also enjoyed.

Thus 'Our Take' on episodes on TV Shows that we watch was born! Unfortunately the WGA Strike is affecting those blog posts starting this past week!

Again, we want to thank ALL of you for stopping in and visiting our Blog today.

If there are topics we don't discuss but could fit our pop culture - comic books - sci fi - TV Show - Movies related theme, feel free to e-mail us!

Sorry, but our comments option is turned off due to spammers from 'China' hitting our blog posts and so many other eBay Bloggers in recent weeks!

To view our most recent blog posts, just click on the photo 'squares' in the left column to view those topics!

Also for those that have emailed us regarding our older archived blog posts being distorted:

Please be aware that eBay techs have revised the blogging format, thus our pre September 15, 2007 archived posts may be hard to read... sorry about that, but it is out of our control here!

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post!

'Top Dog Sales Secrets'!

Newly Published !

Guide to Business Gift-Giving

by Tina LoSasso

Anyone braving the shopping malls during the holiday season knows that finding the perfect gift for family or friends is not easy.

Business gift-giving can be even more challenging. Choosing the right business gift requires more time and thoughtfulness. How do you go about selecting exactly the right gift for that important client?  Here is another of time-honored rules of thumb from the new sales advice book, Top Dog Sales Secrets.

• Think New Year’s !

If you run out of time to plan or shop for the holidays, get the cards in the mail and send an appropriate New Year’s gift.

Think pens, desk clocks, or paperweights, packaged with noisemakers and streamers.

Timing your gift to arrive right before New Year’s is a great way to stand apart from everyone else.

The above is from Tina's new book that is titled: 'Top Dog Sales Secrets' and we now have a few more copies listed for sale in our eBay Featured Store!

We've made it easy for you eBayers to buy this newly published book. Just click on the book cover at the top left to buy a copy with the 'Buy It Now' feature!
