Luke Cage

Hero For Hire

a.k.a.

Power Man!

By whichever names you know him, (or don't know him), he is the topic of this blog post because his movie may be in the pipeline before too long!

John Singleton, of '2 Fast 2 Furious' fame, is still reportedly making up his mind to either get this film going, OR the 'Black Panther' movie.

The Black Panther is also one of Marvel Comics' characters, and was first introduced in the Fantastic Four Comic Book.

Additionally Tyrese Gibson, of 'Four Brothers' fame, is reported to be the lead role for the Luke Cage movie, but this is rumour only at this time, as no contract had been signed as yet.

The proposed villain for the movie is 'Diamondback'. Rumoured to play that role would be Terrence Howard.

We'll be sure to keep you abreast of any developments on this 'Luke Cage' movie or the 'Black Panther' movie should that be the one that is put into production!    Thanks for reading our pop culture - comics - comic book blog post!

REMINDER:

Catherine Bach Of Dukes Of Hazard Will Be Autographing On December 22nd!

Recently I have been seeing more and more autographed photos, comics, books etc...

Additionally I have seen comments about the prices charged by sellers on those items.

So I thought I would publish the autograph prices of an upcoming appearance by a
Star of a previous TV Show that is in re-runs and has had an 'updated' movie about it recently.

Catherine Bach of Dukes of Hazard TV Show fame will be autographing just before Christmas.

Her prices are listed at the bottom of the flyer shown at the top left.

Of interest to non-convention goers should be the fact that it would cost the convention goer $20 just to have their picture taken with the actress with their own camera, and NO autograph.

Also of interest... NO 'Shorts' Will be Signed! (?)

The times of getting autographs for free have been over for quite a while, as these actresses and actors are finding the convention circuits a way of making money as not all get residuals.

No negativity here, just to let our blog readers and possible autograph seekers the fact that most of the autographs signed today cost the con-goer $$ to get in the first place!

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post!

Virtual Visitors Who Have Viewed Our Blog Posts So Far!

We hit the 39,000th mark of visitors with exactly 113,400 total page views at 06:29 AM PDT today, December 16th, with a visitor from the USA checking out our February 1st, 2007 archived blog post on Terri Hatcher As Lois Lane blog post !

With the busy shopping season going on, we have been listing and blogging right along! And so many of you have been visiting our new and archived posts which we are thankful for!
As of today, we are averaging 434 visitors a day to our blog posts, especially archived blog posts!
As a matter of fact, last Saturday December 8th was our 'Biggest Visitor Day' in our blog's history with 567 visitors! And Monday December 10th was our Third Biggest Visitor Day with 505 Visitors!
For that, we want to thank all of you for taking the time during your busy day or night to visit us!

For those readers that are new to us, here is a little background on our Blog:

This Blog started June 7th 2006 shortly after eBay announced the new blogging format.

On July 15th 2006 we added on a stats counter as we found most viewers read but didn't comment and we wanted to know if we were being 'read' at all and from where!

We also started expanding our pop culture topics as we found that more and more bloggers finding us, enjoyed several of the TV Shows that we also enjoyed.

Thus 'Our Take' on episodes on TV Shows that we watch was born!

Unfortunately the WGA Strike is affecting those blog posts starting this past week! We will NOT be covering the new 'reality' or 'game' shows... with the exception of the two we have already been following (Survivor & Next Great American Band)!

If there are topics we don't discuss but could fit our pop culture - comic books - sci fi - TV Show - Movies related theme, feel free to e-mail us!

Sorry, but our comments option is turned off due to spammers from 'China' hitting our blog posts and so many other eBay Bloggers in recent weeks! That problem has not been rectified as of today...

To view our most recent blog posts, just click on the photo 'squares' in the left column to view those topics!

Also for those that have emailed us regarding our older archived blog posts being distorted:

Please be aware that eBay techs have revised the blogging format, thus our pre September 15, 2007 archived posts may be hard to read... sorry about that, but it is out of our control here!

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post!

Dressing Up For The Convention As...

Wonder Woman & Super Girl !

One of the fun things to do at pop culture or comic book conventions is to either dress up like your favorite comic book character or TV Show / Movie Star...

Well, the SDCC Comic Con 2006 attendees to the top left did just that!

I know, I know... I've been accused of having a fixation for Halle Berry in her Catwoman outfit, after all of the Catwoman blog posts here in this blog!

So for a change, here are another two of the DC Comics superheroines that should be recognizable to almost all of you!

We'll publish others in the weeks to come before the Con Season starts... and if you have a pic to share feel free to tell us about it for possible publishing in this blog!

Oh.... Tina swears she'll be in costume at one of the upcoming Cons, so I'll keep you posted for that development!!

Thanks for reading our pop culture - comics - comic book blog post!

San Diego Comic Con 1973

Stan Lee?

I have published my photo of me at the San Diego Comic Con from 1973 several times before in previous blog posts and on the web site.

I have also published a few excerpts from my story of my personal history with the Con, back when it was known as 'The Golden State Comic Con' in 1970 at the U.S. Grant Hotel.

It then became known as 'San Diego's West Coast Comic Con in 1972 while at the El Cortez Hotel.

The con ended up as the 'San Diego Comic Con' in 1973 at the Sheraton Hotel, keeping that name until 1995 when it started going by 'Comic Con International'.

However in 1973 there were only approximately 1,100 of us in attendance.

I had set up a table by myself to sell at this Con, and thus was not able to break away for the programs or to even meet all the pros!

It appears I must have missed Neal Adams, June Foray, Jack Kirby, Carmine Infantino, DC Fontana, and now even Stan Lee!

That's right!Even tho I was there... I don't recall meeting all of these celebrities and pros at that time! I did meet them in later years tho!

I am so glad that nowadays, going on 35 years later, that Tina and I make a good team in standing in line for each other, or attending one program while another one is running that we are interested in!

And no, I gave up setting up a booth at the Con years ago!

I have much more fun now buying and attending programs so I don't miss the pros or celebs!!

Thanks for reading our pop culture - comics - comic book blog post!

Michael
