She Is The NEXT Wonder Woman!

'She' is Keri Russell, and she is to be the 'voice' of Wonder Woman in the upcoming straight to DVD Animated Wonder Woman Feature!

We have been running several pics of 'Wonder Woman' from previous Comic Cons lately because there hasn't been anything new to blog about on WW.

Now if they could only get the live action WW Film going....

And yes, we do have Wonder Woman and other DC superhero comics listed for sale! Just click the Keri Russell photo to the top left!

Thanks for reading our pop culture - comics - comic book blog post!

Has Finished Its' Run At the Autry National Center...

However You Can Still See The Gunfight At the OK Corral Scene And Other Western Exhibits  At the Autry Center In Los Angeles, California

We just sold the last of our Gene Autry Comics, which reminded me that the 100th Anniversary Exhibit ended this past weekend!

However, there are other exhibits there... The re-enactment of the Gunfight is just one of the 'permanent' exhibits at the Autry Center.

Going with their theme of 'reality' versus 'myth' their re-enactment is much less exciting than the one Tina and I saw at the 'real' OK Corral in Tombstone Arizona!

Of course having real live actors does add to the shoot-em up atmosphere!

This exhibit is in a room that is on the bottom floor gallery of the Museum that is part of the 'reality' of the Old West.

The museum prides itself on showing the 'reality' of the Old West, whereas my interest is of the 'myth' as shown on TV Shows and Western Movies!

For those visiting the Los Angeles metro area this would be one of the better attractions in that area for 'real life' Western fans.

Tina, my uncle and I saw this exhibition on Saturday November 3rd for the first time, and recommend the Gene Autry Exhibition at the Autry National Center for Old West fans.

You can learn more about the hours and the admission prices at the web site autrynationalcenter.org.

As you can tell by the comics we have in the eBay Featured Store, I am a Wild Wild West TV Westerns and Western Comics Fan.

Captain America Throws His Mighty Shield!

(The Lyrics To Captain America's 1960's TV Show Theme Song!)

When Captain America throws his mighty shield,

All those who chose to oppose his shield must yield.

If he’s led to a fight and a duel is due,

Then the red and white and the blue’ll come through

When Captain America throws his mighty shield!

Bloggers Looking For Top 10 Worst Movies of 2007...

...instead are finding our January 14th, 2007 archived blog post where we posted the following entry:

Watching Ebert & Roeper's Top Ten Worst Movies of 2006 tonight, and found that Uma Thurman's 'My Super Ex-Girl Friend' was listed as number seven of the worst of 2006 by Michael Phillips, (filling in for Ebert).

I first reported on this movie in our blog post of December 20th, 2006.

You can check out my comments on the movie at that post at: Review

I find it funny that it is listed as one of the TOP TEN WORST MOVIES of 2006. I didn't find it to be that bad !!

(End of original entry.)

The archived blog entry has been our mosted visited archived post today with 18% of the visitors vieiwng that post!

To date I have not seen Ebert & Roeper's Top 10 Worst List, even though I looked at their web site!

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post!

Echoes Of The Spirit World... Ghostly Haunts!

'Ghostly Haunts' was from Charlton Comics!

It ran from issue #20 in September of 1971 to issue #58 in April of 1978!

In the early 1970's The Big Two Comics Companies, Marvel and National (DC) Comics were expanding their HoRRoR and supernatural superhero comics lines.

This gave Charlton, the perennial #3 publisher, an opportunity to publish comic titles with the tried-and-true formula of having a 'host' or 'hostess' introduce the ghostly stories in the comic!

There were several good artists including Steve Ditko (who drew the cover at the top left), that drew the stories.

However, Charlton for years would use cheaper production methods and paper, thus causing the comics to have a 'cheaper' feel about them!  Which is why it is hard to find VF or better copies for sale today!

To see what issues we have in stock, just click on the comic book cover to the top left!
