American Idol's Judges' Thoughts On The Final 8 !
Mood:  rushed
Topic: TV Shows

American Idol's Cast Were On Larry King's
Show On 04-07-08!

Larry King asked them en masse what they thought of the Final 8 contestants before the 04-08-08 show aired.

I thought it was interesting what they 'truly' thought of the 'idols' that were left so here's their thoughts via our blog format style.

The 'idols' are listed in the order that Larry King presented videos of them, NOT in order of finishing spots...

Please note that they were talking fast so I didn't catch everything that was said, and in most instances Ryan didn't get a chance to express his viewpoint:
The 'Final 8'

Name of idol

Randy's TakePaula's TakeSimon's TakeRyan's Take
David Cook

One of my favorites

Amazing voice   Would choose to listen to on a personal basis.   Breaking down the walls.
Carly Smithson

  Simon's right! Who is she?

Amazing voice   Problem is she doesn't know who she is!(no comment heard)
Michael Johns

He talented, but picks wrong kind of songs to sing

Perfect   I like this guy.  Heart throb.
Brooke White

Transparent as a performer

Puts her heart and soul into it.   Boring last 2 weeks. Needs drama...   Gets on stage with skillset.
David A

Really really talented, but hard to know who you are @17 yrs old.

Thought he was a 16 year old savant when she first saw him   he's the one to beat... with the teen vote and granny vote behind him.  Was at the top of the crop...
Kristy Lee CookWould sing her to record contract   (no comment?)   A million to one shot to win. Sounds ok singing country. (no comment heard)
Jason CastroJason's cool, but no shot at winning    Has a definite style  Looks like he doesnt't care.(no comment heard)
Syesha MercadoLooking like an actress singer now.    She's got a pretty beautiful voice. There's a ceiling to this girl...  (no comment heard)

Larry also asked the cast who they thought would win it all...

Randy said 'It's a Boy'.
Paula didn't say....
Simon said 'boy versus boy' at the end.
Ryan said 'there will be one' (winner)!

I found it to be interesting that as usual Simon just comes right out and says what he thinks, and Randy is somewhere in the middle, with Paula out in left field... Makes me wonder who the next judges could be after these 3 judges terms run out after 2 more seasons!

Due to space limitations on the eBay Blog format that we first post in, we only have so much room to blog here...

All These Hearings On The War...
Mood:  d'oh
Topic: Comic Book History

All These Hearings Being Shown On TV Yesterday and Today...

Remind Me Of The Super President Days!

Published in 1986, there were three issues of this title 'Reagan's Raiders'.

Created by artist Rich (Deathlok / Black Panther) Buckler and actor Monroe (Alice's Restaurant / Goodbye Columbus) Arnold, this was part of the black and white comic book explosion when hundreds of new comics were published by many publishers now defunct!

How did this happen??  Well their secret origin is as follows:

Using a 'physo-nuclear conversion process', Project Alpha Soldier staff scientist Professor Cashchaser transformed President Ronald Reagan, Vice President George Bush Sr., Secretary Of Defense Casper W. Weinberger,  and Secretary of State George P. Shultz into the patriotic super-team known as Reagans Raiders!

Oddball as it may seem, this series was actually a good read for me, and not derogatory to the then President as you may think it would be!

And no, I'm not a war-monger!

For those new to our Blog we have an ongoing comics and pop culture convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

So, Jennifer Connelly As....
Mood:  d'oh
Topic: Comic Book Movies

So,

 Jennifer Connelly As...

Wonder Woman?!

Regular blog readers will know that I don't pass by a Wonder Woman fan in costume at pop culture or comic book conventions without taking a look and/or picture!

I also have a liking for Jennifer Connelly's acting ever since 'The Rocketeer' in 1991. I have also enjoyed her performances in 'A Beautiful Mind', 'The Hulk', 'House of Sand and Fog', and 'Blood Diamond', altho not always liking the movie(s)!

So, when the above right 'fake photo' of Jennifer as WW was sent to me, I just had to run it in this blog to share!

Especially since She was 'Who's HOT In Our Archived Blog Posts This Morning 04-09-09'!

We also have an ongoing comics and pop culture convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post and check out our Blog again!

American Idol - Fox TV Show

Season 7
The Final 8 Show!
04-08-08 Our Take

Songs Theme For The Night Was:
 "Inspirational Songs"!

Last Night it was the 'Final 8' who performed on the New Stage in a 1 Hour show! There will be 3 Nights of American Idol this week... with Tuesday Night the Performance Night, American Idol Gives Back on Wednesday for 2 hours, and then Results Night Show on Thursday!

Here are our 'scores', (based on 1-10, 10 being highest), on each performance with the 4th column showing the difference between Michael's score and Tina's score. The 'contestants' are listed in order of performance during the night, NOT by numerical score:
The 'Top 8'

6Carly Smithson / The Show Must Go On   7.5   0.07.5
7David Archuletta / Angels    7.0  1.08.0
8Brooke White / You've Got A Friend    7.0 0.57.5

First of all... A few general notes:

We did view last week's show via taped performance and results show, but did not blog as it was several days later, after we came back from a family funeral back on the East Coast.

We have been asked why our Comments option is almost always turned off on the eBay Blog post version of our Blog. We will have this blog post turned on for comments until the post falls off the Front Page of eBay's Blog Page... However our non-ebay blog's comments options are always open for comment.

Now for the comments from Tina and Michael!

Tina's says: Simon's right on the 'blues' aspect for Michael Johns. IMHO Michael could play Jim Morrison of 'The Doors' fame in a rock movie anytime!

Tina also says that Kristy (who she has not liked for weeks), had a connection with her song that she sung. Simon agreed emphatically with Tina on this!

Tina also says that Randy and Paula must have switched drinks tonight....

Michael's comments: Michael agreed with Randy and Simon on David Cook's performance. It was nowhere near as good as the last 2 weeks! Michael likes that David takes risk, but this one fell short for him.

Michael also agreed with Simon that Carly looked good last night, after a few blunders of wardrobe in previous weeks...

What we normally do this far into the process is to vote for the highest one or two contestants per the score we gave them.

Michael voted for Kristy Lee Cook (8.0) pictured above, while Tina actually voted for Kristy Lee Cook also (8.0), which she thought she would never do!  That is how bad the performances were last night in her estimation of the show. The songs and performances were not 'Inspirational' to her, and she was disappointed in several of the contestants! Almost 'ditto' on her remarks for Michael!

Due to space limitations on the eBay Blog format that we first post in, we only have so much room to blog here...

For those that missed our previous blog posts on this TV Show.... Please see the following link for our previous blog post. We have been blogging about Season 7 since the first week when the auditions were shown:
