Barb Wire

Regular Readers of our Blog know that I check our Blog Stats daily!

Tonight it is 'Barb Wire's Night to be 'Hot' because right now her archived blog post of 01-07-08 is reaching 6% of our blog viewership!

It has been quite a while since 'Barb Wire' has been 'HOT', altho several of our Pamela Anderson blog posts continue to be read on a regular basis.

I don't know of any major reason that the Barb Wire blog post is at the top of our views right now, as there hasn't been any Barb Wire news for a while, unless something came out of the NYCC 2008 comic con this past weekend??!

Just had another email from an eBayer who had a comic book like the one to the right that they wanted to know the value of!

Since our 2,000+ archived blog posts are listed on search engines and blog directories, we are easy to find. And we don't mind answering questions!

This party had a copy of the Dell Beatles Comic Book with all the posters intact and wanted to know the 'value' of it.

Without seeing a scan of the actual item it is hard to know, but I pointed out to them the completed listings on eBay to see what the comic has recently sold for.

As a matter of fact, one copy was sold by a fellow dealer friend of ours close by in San Marcos for $77.64, while another copy was sold for $53.77!

Which is a far cry from the one that is currently listed for $600.00 on eBay!

Star Trek: TMNT Style !

Star Trek: TMNT Style!

Now that's something I've never seen before!

When my sons were younger we used to watch the TMNT cartoons on TV together, and of course I'm a Star Trek Fan!

But having the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles wear Star Trek (STOS) uniforms is a wild and crazy idea!

And I like it!

It Was The CBM !

It Was The CBM!

CBM was the acronym for 'Comic Book Marketplace', a great magazine!

This magazine was started by Gary Carter, our 'neighbor' here in San Diego County!

I enjoyed his magazine when it first came out... it was mostly ads with a few articles. The magazine was paperstock with a paper cover at first.

As time went on the ads grew less and less and the articles increased in size and graphics. The magazine went to slick pages and slick paperstock covers instead of newsprint.

It was a great magazine during its' run out here on the West Coast!

Then the changes came. The magazine was then published back East. Then Gary was no longer associated with the magazine.

The magazine had a brief hiatus and came back. The articles were good and the new editor tried a new approach that didn't please everyone.

I started buying individual issues from our LCBS instead of having a subscription.

I then started selling my once complete collection as the earliest issues were commanding good money at auction as I no longer was a 'completist' with a complete run of the title, and I started paring back my collections.

We occasionally get in copies of the magazine. It is a great introduction to the world of comic book collecting!

GI Joe's Are Marching To...

The G.I. Joe Convention

2008!

July 26th thru July 29th 2008 will be the time of the next JoeCon.

The JoeCon2008 will be held at the Frisco Embassy Suites in Dallas, Texas.

There will be special guests from Hasbro, as well as programs and panels on G.I. Joe history and current products. Also scheduled are contests and a FilmFest!

There will also be a Sales Room where there should be 200 tables of GI Joe collectibles for sale.
