Afflictions That Affect Bloggers!

As previously blogged here, Tina and I have posted some 'reviews' in the eBay Reviews and Guides Section off and on for several months.

So this week I've been reading books on the history of blogging and what additional purposes it can be used for as both Tina and I expand the scope of our operations on my 10th Anniversary on the Web!

The book 'Blogging For Dummies' had some really interesting blog terms that may or may not be known to you.

Here are a few afflictions that I thought would make good reading in this blog post:

Blogathy - "occurs when you become apathetic about posting in your blog. One always hopes that blogathy is temporary".

Blogorrhea - "not to be gross, but blogorrhea is too much insubstantial blogging".

Blogstipation - "is writer's block for bloggers. The condition might be due to a lack of inspiration, as with traditional writer's block, or it might result from exhaustion after blooging too much".

Hitnosis - "the sad condition of obsessively monitoring one's traffic logs is called hitnosis".

The above was some of the funniest parts in this 'Blogging For Dummies' book! I definitely have suffered from 'Hitnosis' on an occasion or two!

There were also other non-humourous terms such as:

Slashdotted - 'in an effect to an instalanche, a citation form the influential site Slashdot that sends so much traffic to the cited blog that its server can become disabled'.

I will be posting a full review this week after trying out several of the suggestions inside...

Iron Man Unmasked!

Iron Man Unmasked!

Wow!

Oh... Ok... So that's not actually Iron Man as we all know now!

Because, isn't he really Robert Downey Jr in everyone's mind now because of the Iron Man Film?!

Instead it is a contestant from the 2007 SDCC Comic Con International Masquerade where the contestant dressed up as Iron Man!

Now that is one 'Heck' of an Iron Man masquerade contestant IMHO!

I don't remember if he won any awards that night, but it is very interesting how many people enter the masquerade now... or just walk around the exhibit hall floors sporting  or strutting their stuff!

For those of you that are new to our blog, we have an ongoing pop culture convention and Comic Con here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post and visit us again!

This SDCC Comic Con  contestant sported his own Iron Man Armor at the July 2007 Masquerade before the Iron Man Film was been released in May 2008!

Pop Idol....

 American Idol Judge...

 And....

Manga Reader?

Well..... we're not saying that she is a manga reader, but I found it interesting that Paula Abdul was posing with a manga book featuring 'Peach Fuzz' at the 2006 Teen Choice Awards!

Whether she was just stopping by the Tokyo Pop booth, or was asked to pose with it I don't know, but it was refreshing to blog something nice about Paula Abdul in this blog today while I was looking for a pic for this morning's blog post of American Idol !

I know, I know... we have been a little hard this year on Paula Abdul's comments on the American Idol Show, but she is a nice person you know!

We have an ongoing Comic Con and pop culture convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale! Just click on the cover at the top right to see our current listings!

For Those That Didn't Believe That Giant Pandas...

For Those That Didn't Believe That Giant Pandas Invaded The Cannes Film Festival!

At the top right of this blog post is the proof!

It happened at the 61st annual Cannes Film Festival as it 'kicked' off yesterday, when Jack Black, the star of the upcoming June 6th release, “Kung Fu Panda,” helped to spread “Panda-monium”!

Jack Black left a water taxi only to be greeted on the Carlton Hotel pier by...

...Nearly 40 life-sized Po the Panda’s!

Po is Jack's on-screen persona and the 'hero' of the film!

Besides the trailer looking pretty good, (see middle next column), the film features the voices of Jack Black, Jackie Chan, Lucy Liu, Dustin Hoffman AND Angelina Jolie!

Hoo-boy!

For those of you already into Martial Arts, we do have a few comics and magazines available for sale in our eBay Featured Store!

Just click on the film poster at the middle right corner to view the listings!!

For those of you that are new to our blog, we have an ongoing comics and pop culture convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

Please come back again!

American Idol Results Show - Our Take - The Top Three 05-14-08

Our Take

On The American Idol's Results Show On the Top 3!

This blog post is being published the morning after the Results Show for the Top 3 on American Idol...

General Notes: Fantasia came back to perform, but was it the 'same' Fantasia?!

Each contestant was brought out one at a time with a video sement of their 'Day' in their hometown. First David A, Syesha, and lastly David C. Very heartwarming to see...

Comments by Tina before the Top 2 announcement:

On Fantasia - I'm Frightened! WTH is this?! Her dancing is really scary!

On David A - He gets his squinty looks from his mother.

On Syesha - She' made the most of this opportunity that she could.

On David C - He better win! Shocked that he didn't plan to do this show! It was on a whim, which explains why I didn't 'get' him at the beginning!

Comments by Michael:

On Fantasia - I agreed with the look on Simon's face when the camera zoomed in on him!

On David C - Loved the KC/DC signs at his 'Hometown Day'! Most of my dad's family is from that area of MO/KS. Didn't really click before that DC was from KC!

Our Take After The Results were made known:

Tina - It was expected... not a negative for her at all!

Michael - Syesha is leaving as a class act tonight!  Also, "they" of the show wanted the 'Battle of The Davids' for the Finale... well they got it now!

FYI, we have blogged about Season 7 since the first audtion show! CLICK HERE for an archived blog post about the 3 Judges' Thoughts on The Final 8 at that time when they were on the Larry King Show 04-07-08!

For those of you new to us, we have an ongoing pop culture -Comic Con here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

Pictured above is Syesha Mercado waving to her fans at her 'Homecoming Day' in the Sarasota area of Florida. She was one of the Top 3 who visited their hometowns on American Idol's Season 7 Semi-Finals!

Next week we are down to the Top 2... We had figured that the Finale would be the 'Battle of the Davids' as it had been predicted to be... Kind of reminds me of Networks who when they are hosting the World Series are hoping for a NY Yankee vs LA Dodgers Series instead of a Seattle Mariners vs Houston Astros Series for better ratings!
