From Our  Archived Blog Posts Again!

Regular Readers of our Blog know that I check our Blog Stats at least daily!

But instead, once again it's Laura Vandervoort who is  suddenly  'Hot'  again because SHE IS NOT returning to Smallville for Season 8, as we blogged about yesterday! So check out that blog post by clicking here!

BTW, what is pleasing to us right now... is that our Blog, (both versions), has had over 100 new RSS subscribers so far this week!

American Idol - Fight For The Title?
Mood:  not sure
Topic: TV Shows

 Fight For The Title?

The American Idol Finale Show was presented as a boxing match between the two Davids, DC and DA... So here are our scoring on the rounds:

Round 1 - Michael: DC 7.5, DA 7.5 Tie / Tina: DC 8.0, DA 8.5 Winner DA

Round 2 - Michael: DC 8.25, DA 7.0 Winner DC / Tina: DC 9.0, DA 7.5 Winner DC

Round 3 - Michael: DC 7.75, DA 7.0 Winner DC / Tina: DC 8.5, DA 7.5 Winner DC

The above shows that in this American Idol finale, Michael and Tina judge DC the winner. Of course we are a little biased. Then again, who wasn't last night that was featured...?

Tina's Comments as the show progressed:

They've been writing this (stuff) for a while! With an announcer guy, boxing theme, etc., no way they've done this in less than week.

Each David was 'never in the bottom 3' - WTH was that?!

DA's 1st song - was better when he stood up and sang.

DC's 2nd song - made it palatable.

DC's 3rd song - I think he wants to lose!

DA's 3rd song - Boring. I liked it the first time.

Michael's comments:

Rocky Theme started off the show - this might be interesting.

"Drop the robes" line by Ryan - ha ha!

"You've gotta hate your opponent" line by Simon - Funny that neither comes out that way...

"Competition's over, I'm just having fun" line by DC - oh oh! This means trouble...

"Molten Hot!" line by Randy on DA's 1st song - NO way Dawg!

"Bit of a lightweight" line by Simon on DA's 2nd song choice - ???

"You can sing the phone book and it'd be good" line by Randy to DA - Sure... NOT! (And I'm really tired of that line this year!)

"Round 2 goes to DA" line by Simon - B.S.!

"I applaud you" Paula Abdul to DC after his 3rd song - I did too, no rehash for him on his choice!

Re: DA's 3rd song, Imagine - Back to his sappy style IMHO, was better 1st time.

"We thought all season that it would come down to you two" Randy's line - it almost sounds like a Hollywood Script to me...

(...continued from bottom of first column)

Summations by Tina and Michael:

Tina - I think DA did well with his 1st song. Despite what the judges say, he annoys and bores me. I much rather listen to DC any day!

Michael - 'Fixed Fight' / 'Throwing the Fight' ??? With all these boxing metaphors all night long I had to throw those two in... NOT saying that this was either of those two things, but was this scripted or what? Plus was it DC's intention to lower expectations of the results by saying he was doing this just to have fun? To go this far and say that...? Maybe he 'knows' or 'feels' more...?  I voted for DC anyway multiple times even tho this was NOT the finale performances I would have expected from either of them. Kind of a 'punch and judy show' last night for me...AND definitely NOT a 'knockout'!!!

Results tonight? Doesn't look good for DC, as Tina and I both got through for DC multiple times with only a couple of busy signals...

She Won't Be Back As A Regular Cast Member...

She Won't Be Back As A Regular Cast Member...

It has already been announced that Smallville's Season 8 will start without Lex Luthor as he's buried in the rubble of the Fortress Of Solitude...

And Now... Supergirl will be gone as a regular cast member as she is stuck in the 'Phantom Zone'!

Were you surprised to see that Laura Vandervoort's name was omitted from the Smallville cast announcement for Season 8 at the CW Upfronts?

Well... you probably weren’t the only one!

Laura Vandervoort  herself was "surprised when they chose not to bring me back as a regular, but I’m sure I’ll be back for one or two (episodes)".

Many Smallville fans hoped that Kara / Supergirl could be spun off for her own show, but the WGA Strike earlier this year has really thrown Hollywood for a loss, both financialy and creatively.

Don't worry about Laura tho, as she is currently in Hawaii as the upcoming film "Into The Blue 2" is in production. For those that don't know, this would be the follow up sequel to the earlier Jessica Alba film.

Here at Make It So Marketing's Blog... I just don't understand why the producers of the show didn't keep her in the Smallville TV Series!

Our archived blog posts on Laura (Supergirl) Vandervoort are usually in the Top 25 most viewed archived posts every day... there is THAT much interest in her by bloggers!

For those of you new to us, we also have an ongoing pop culture - comics convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post and please visit our blog again!

Who Will Be Your Next American Idol ?

 Who Will Be Your Next

  American Idol?

We know his name will be David…

I know who I WANT to win.  But, like the Oscars, Super Bowls, and political elections, sometimes who you want isn’t the same as who you think will win.

I WANT David Cook to win, but I’m a little afraid to dream that the next American Idol would actually be someone whose CD I’d buy!

I LOVE David Cook – his style, arrangements – and hey – he’s got a great voice.  He’s been the most original, and the most consistent, performer all season.  He’s had the biggest “Idol” moments. (Remember: “Hello,” “Billie Jean,” and “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face.”

Unfortunately, I THINK David Archuleta just might be the winner.  He fits much better into the American Idol pop cookie-cutter.  And he’s got the lock on the core American Idol fan base.  I guess I have to face it, David Cook isn’t what we’re hearing on the radio today.  It’s pop, not creative rock.

I’m holding out some hope though.  I did another unofficial beauty parlor survey after last week’s elimination, and could only locate ONE David Archuleta fan.  In fact, she was the only Archuleta fan I’ve encountered all season!

Here’s hoping Idol is COOK-ed!

Let us know who you think it will be, and who you want.

Tina

Above is a photo from last week's show. Remaining standing are David Archuelta and David Cook plus Ryan Seacrest!
We are looking forward to this week's show and hoping that the American Idol Judges don't 'skew' the voting. We want to thank Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Ryan Seacrest for a pretty good season thus far!
