The 'American Idol' Winner
Plus The American Idol Finalists On The Larry King Show 05-26-08 Part 2
The American Idol Finalists were once again featured on the hour long Larry King Show Monday May 26th, 2008 in the second hour of this special show. Here are some of the comments made during that airing: Larry King asks - One of the problems of the show is thought to be that the contestants are forced to do vocal gymnastics. Is that true? Brook - That's not true. DC - This show helps find artists/performers who otherwise didn't have a chance in this industry. Re: Song Choice: Carly - No one helps us on the song choices, they are not allowed to. DC said that no help is given to maintain the integrity of the show. Brooke said on the 'Theme Nights' a list of songs is provided to choose from. Re: Mentors, Carly said that they found out as the audience found out... no advance notice. Larry asked if there would be any 'Meet n' Greets' before the American Idol Tour Shows, Michael said 'Absoulutely!'. Larry brought up that Tivo / DVR users missed out on the winner's announcement. They heard 'The Winner is David...' and then the Tivo /DVR cut off. David A still didn't know about that as of last night! So they definitely were cut off from the rest of the world during Idol days! Re: David Hernandez as a stripper: Michael Johns said 'Larry, if I had a body like David's, I'd strip too! Larry laughing said, 'Michael you ought to on the road!' Re: Ryan Seacres - Michael Johns said he called him 'One Take Seacrest' as Ryan comes in and does his thing without rehearsal for the most part. DC said that Ryan is a jack of all trades. Larry added 'the man is fixated. We love him BTW'. Re: how much prep was done for audtioning. Tina suggested that a better question would be: David Cook went to Idol to support his brother and tried out on a whim. How do the other contestants feel about that?!
