Will Be At The New York Comic Con! February 6th, 7th & 8th, 2009! That's right! Dave Simons... artist, says he will be at the New York Comic Con 2009 that is being held at the Jacob Javits Center for all three days, starting February 6th, 7th, and 8th! You can look for him at Bob Shaw's table Booth #2402, (Comic Art House). Dave will be signing and doing sketches there, plus Bob will have some of Dave's original art to sell. Dave says "hope to see you all there!"... so be sure to stop by and say hi, commission a sketch and check out his artwork for sale! Please Note: Dave's scheduled signing and sketching times are 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. daily during the three day show! Dave is currently working on Army of Darkness #18, entitled "Montezuma's Revenge". Dave has drawn many stories during the years. Some of you may remember the great story featuring Simon Garth - the Zombie that Dave drew for the short-lived Bizarre Adventures that was published by Marvel... I do! Others may remember one of Dave's earliest published comics stories that was printed in DC's Weird War Tales where he inked Ken Landgraf's pencils on a story featuring gorillas that were pressed into service by the Germans in WW II... now that was a strange story... you gotta check that one out! Dave spent several years at Marvel Comics during the 1980's. He is credited on several issues of Ghost Rider, Howard the Duck Magazine, What If...?, Savage Sword of Conan, and more! Dave is also credited with works published by DC Comics such as Forgotten Realms. Since his early works in comics he's been mostly in the animation field. Besides working on Army Of Darkness mentioned above, he's also recently created some Fantastic Four cards for Rittenhouse Archives, among other things....
