Pugnuggle Tales: Book Two Cover

Click Here To See Our Current Listings of Comics, Graphic Novels, Promo Comics and other Pop Culture items listed for sale!  Harold Cupec... Creator of the webcomic 'Pugnuggle Tales', and also doing the pencils/inks/colors on 'Essence' issues 3 and 4 for the Ultimate Comics Group, has contributed 4 illustrated sketch cards that are now listed in the 'Sketch Card Auction and Gallery Show for American Cancer Society'!

Harold saw my earlier posts about both artists that I blogged about who also submitted sketch cards for the same worthy cause!   Harold and I have been Facebook Friends for a while, but I had missed his entries earlier, as there are One Thousand listings for bidders to choose from.  That is a Great turnout from the comics industry!

Thus Harold now joins my earlier blog posts on this Auction Event with his set of four cards based on his 'Pugnuggle Tales' which you can see by Clicking Here!

So that would make three artists that I have blogged about that have contributed to this cause... Harold Cupec with his four cards,  Daniel Miki's two set of collage sketch cards and Greg Harms set of four 'Twilight' sketch cards!

Here are the details for the benefit from the 'Comics For Cures' web site as this blog post is published:

Blue Line Art has been organizing their second annual exhibition and auction of original sketch card art to benefit the American Cancer Society.

Their first event in March of 2008 showcased 200 artist with over 1200 sketch cards. They raised over $7,400 for the American Cancer Society and are hoping that this current event will be bigger and better in raising funds.

There will be a public exhibition at Comics 2 Games, Florence, Ky location on April 4th 2009. The auction of all the original art cards will go online starting the week before the Sketch Card exhibition and will end that evening. All proceeds from the sale of the cards will go to the American Cancer Society.

Bob and Mike Hickey, founders and owners of Blue Line Art, are organizing this fundraiser in honor of Bob’s wife Katie, a breast cancer survivor. Blue Line publishes Sketch Magazine and Graphic Novel Scene and sells Blue Line Art boards to both comic book companies and individual artists. The Hickey family has long been aware of the generosity of the comic book community. All involved are looking forward to another successful event that celebrates the diversity of comic book artists’ unique talents and their heroic spirit of helping those in need!

For those of you that are interested in bidding on Harold's sketch cards... Please click here to see Harold's contribution to the worthy cause!  As of this blog posting, each one of the four cards is at the starting bid of only $1.00 plus shipping! With less than six days left before the auctions end!

There are a thousand total listings of other sketch cards in this special event to raise funds; please check out the following link to take you to the eBay page where all of those auction listings are listed until the end of the auction time:  Click Here!

(Note: Make It So Marketing is NOT affialiated with Comics For Cures, nor any of the sponsors of the benefit auction. This is for review / mention purposes only, and to hi-light Harold Cupec's contributions to the fund raiser.)

Note:  If any other contributors for this special benefit see this blog post, you are welcome to contact me for possible inclusion on a follow up post before the auction listings end on April 4th!

For those of you that are new to our blog today, we have an ongoing online 'Comic Con and Pop Culture Convention'  here at "Make It So Marketing Inc.", what with our daily blog posts,  and new listings of items for sale in our own online eBay Featured Store

Greg Harms

Greg Harms... Currently well known as the great inker on the '10th Muse' comic book mini-series, tells me that he also has 4 illustrated sketch cards listed in the 'Sketch Card Auction and Gallery Show for American Cancer Society'!

This became known to me after I blogged earlier about Daniel Miki's two set of collage cards submitted for the same worthy cause!

So if You or a Good Friend of yours is into the 'Twilight' book series, or the recent film, or the new DVD... this might be something of great interest, because it is an UNIQUE item... only one set of this was created by Greg before it was separated for for four separate listings!

Best known as an inker in the comic book industry, tells me that he has 8 illustrated sketch cards listed in the 'Sketch Card Auction and Gallery Show for American Cancer Society'!

What makes Daniel's contributions to this benefit auction special is that Daniel rarely pencils, thus making these sketch card contributions of his a rather 'rare' set of cards!

Come April 1st... It's YOUR Turn To Vote...
Mood:  a-ok
Topic: Comic Books - New

Click here to see our current listings of Graphic Novels, Comics, Magazines, and other Pop Culture Items!

Come April 1st... It's YOUR Turn To Vote For The

Small Press Idol!

And That's NO April Fool's Day Joke!

Erik W Hendrix...  Has been sending out several notices that the judges for the 'Small Press Idol', (SPI), are no longer the Only Ones that Can Vote on entries that were submitted to the contest.  Well at least starting April 1st that is!

Click Here to see our current listed Comics, Magazines, Games and more!  Erik wrote me:  "I will end up sending a couple more of these before voting starts on April 1st, but just a reminder. If you have not already done so, please go to dimestoreproductions.com and sign up. The link is near the top left corner and it's a really quick and easy process. A link to the process I wrote on "how to sign up" is below.

Note: If you signed up but didn't get a confirmation email, send an email to ian@dimestoreproductions.com from the account you used to sign up and ask him to activate you.

Note 2: Starting on April 1st, you get ONE VOTE PER DAY, so please go onto the site daily and vote for your favorite (hopefully it's Faction).

Process for voting: http://www.geocities.com/thelastbard/faction/SPI-JoinForums.doc

Link directly to sign up for DimeStore:
http://www.dimestoreproductions.com/signup.php ."

My thanks to Erik for re-submitting this reminder to so many!  FYI, Erik also has an entry titled 'Faction', which is one of the 27 entries that are moving on to Round 2 of SPI... so give his work a look at also if you are so inclined!

Click Here to see our current listed Comics, Magazines, Games and more! Ian Shires , (pictured to the left), listed on the main web site all 27 of the projects that made it into Round 2.   By making it that far all 27 are set to have their projects printed in 'Mysterious Visions' at the very least.

Ian also says "But more over, they are still in contention for the $700 cash prize, 4-issue publishing commitment grand prize. So take a moment this week to check them all out, make your own notes about them, and get ready for Round 2 where we turn up the heat big time, and YOUR VOTES COUNT!"

For those of you that have missed my previous blog posts on SPI, you may be thinking "So what exactly is Small Press Idol?".  I'll let their web site promo say it for them:

"Small Press Idol is the greatest amateur's contest in comics, mixing a bit of American Idol with a bit of The Apprentice, and a bunch of our own special social experiment elements. This contest is not for everyone...but it will be fun, and, for those that participate, it will challenge you to be the best you can be. If you survive round 1, your work WILL BE PUBLISHED! This year: We have national store distribution! It's our biggest year ever!"

So starting April 1st, 2009, YOU can start voting for your faves on Small Press Idol... so take the time now to register and take part!

(Please Note: Michael / Tina / Make It So Marketing Inc are not affialiated with, nor compensated by the publisher, the SPA, or the SPI. This blog post is for mention of the SPI only. No 'favorites' are to be implied in this blog post. It is for informational purposes only!)

For those of you that are new to our blog today, we have an ongoing 'Comic Con and Pop Culture Convention'  here at "Make It So Marketing Inc.", what with our daily blog posts,  and new listings of items for sale in our online eBay Featured Store

Thanks again to all of YOU reading our current and archived blog posts!
