...the

X-Men 3:

 Last Stand

Movie!

Now that was something I didn't know until watching the after the Academy Shows!

Tina and I have not yet viewed the film 'Juno', as it hadn't hit our viewing queque yet.

So I just became familar with Ellen Page while watching the Red Carpet Show before the Oscars presentation.

Of course when she's in scenes with Halle Berry as shown at the above left, you know I'd be looking at Halle instead! LOL!

Ellen did play opposite the 'Juggernaut' in the film and as I recall did a good job of portraying the young 'Kitty Pryde' in the film....

For those that are interested in more about Kitty Pryde, Storm or others of the Uncanny X-men, we have several listed in our eBay Featured Store !

For those of you that can't make it to comic cons... We have an ongoing comic book convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and new listings of items for sale! Just click on the pic at the top left to see our listings!

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post !

Michael

American Idol TV Show
Season 7  Week 2
Night 2 - The 'Girls'
02-27-08 Our Take
Theme Was "Classics From The Seventies"!

Last Night it was the 'girls' who performed... The Top 10 of them in a 90 minute show. Here are our 'scores', (based on 1-10, 10 being highest), on each performance with the 4th column showing the difference between my score and Tina's score. The 'girls' are listed in order of performance during the night, NOT by numerical score:
The 'Girls'

(No #)

Name of ContestantMichael's TakeScore DifferenceTina's Take
1Carly Smithson   7.5   0.58.0
2

Syesha Mercado

   7.0   2.09.0
3

Brooke White

   7.0   1.08.0
4Ramiele Mulaby   7.0   1.58.5
5Kristy Lee Cook (pictured above)  8.5   0.08.5
6Amanda Overmyer 8.0   0.08.0
7Alaina Whitaker    8.5  1.07.5
8Alesandrea Washington    6.0 1.07.0
9Kady Malloy   7.0 1.08.0
10Asia'h Epperson   6.5 0.06.5

FYI, for those that followed our American Idol Blog Posts last season... you'll know that Tina and I usually don't agree on the contestants' performances until the final weeks... maybe by that time we've worn each other out judging???? LOL.

Michael's question of the night: When did Simon pick up that weird five finger (whole hand) way of resting his head on his hand???

Last night, the biggest difference between the scores was a 2.0 points difference with contestant #2 Syesha Mercado.  Michael didn't like the arrangement of the song while Tina thought it was a good enough performance for her to vote for!  Go Figure?!

What we do this early in the process is to vote for the highest one or two contestants per the score we gave them.  Michael voted for Kristy Lee Cook (pictured at top right), while Tina voted for Syesha Mercado! We each only voted for one...  Both of us thought that last night's performances were rather average which reflects in Michael's scores with several 7.0s.  Tina's numbers were a bit higher in more cases... I am really beginning to think that she is starting to play favorites already... LOL!

When the Top 24 starts getting down to the Top 12, then we'll start adding more than just a 'numerical' score. Due to space limitations on the eBay Blog format that we first post in,  we only have so much room to blog...

Well... that's it for 'The Girls'... Tonight are 'The Results'.  Be back tomorrow when we blog about 'Our Take' on American Idol's Week 2 Results!  FYI, we are on the West Coast by Legoland so there is a time zone difference in our viewing and blogging between our East Coast readers!

FYI, for those that followed our American Idol Blog Posts last season... you'll know that Tina and I usually don't agree on the contestants' performances until the final weeks.
My Take on the Judges last night:
Randy had good advice most of the night.
Paula - What planet did you come in from to judge this year? Most of these performances were just plain average, but I believe I only heard you give a negative to just one of the performances.
Simon IMO really gave good critiques last night!
Tina's Take on the night:  "The Band was better than the singers tonight"!
Last night, the biggest difference between the scores was a 3.5 points difference with contestant #2 Jason Castro.  Michael didn't like the arrangement while Tina thought it was a good different version of the song!!
What we do this early in the process is to vote for the highest one or two contestants per the score we gave them.  Michael voted for David Cook while Tina voted for David Archuleta!  Both of us thought that last night's performances were rather average which reflects in Michael's scores until the final 2 performances, while Tina's numbers were a bit higher in more cases... Oscar Winner Diablo Cody's Tattoo and Animal Print Shift...
Mood:  caffeinated
Topic: TV Shows

Reminded Me Of Sheena & Bettie Page!

Sheena, Queen of The Jungle & The 'Notorious' Bettie Page That Is!

We have previously blogged that Jungle Comics are a comic book genre that is starting to come back into favor with publishers and fans, what with Sheena, Shanna and other Jungle Queens being redone today as GGA (Good Girl Art)!

Diablo Cody won an Oscar last night for the 'Best Original Screenplay'.

Tina and I have not yet seen the movie, nor did I know much about her except for what was said on the Academy Awards show.

What definitely got my attention was Diablo's outfit she wore to pick up her Oscar onstage.

The outfit was an animal print shift, and she sported what appeared to be a tattoo of a girl in bondage.

What with the movement of her arm and the cameras, I couldn't make out what the rest was...

So checking the internet, I found that the tattoo indeed was a girl in bondage, (her when she had red hair) and with a new batch of shiny red roses.

Appears she had her ex-husbands' name 'Jonny' on the tatoo, 'Jonny's Girl', and with their split up had the roses added covering his name.

With her black hair resembling a 'Bettie Page' look, and the animal print shift and the girl in bondage tattoo... well I thought the whole ensemble was like looking at Bettie Page in a Sheena Bondage film shoot!

We are running the photo at the top right in conjuction with our jungle comics and mags that are now listed in our eBay Featured Store!

We have an ongoing comic book convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale! Just click on the cover at the top left to see our Jungle genre listings!

Thanks for reading our pop culture - comics - comic book blog post!

Not the usual attire for a receipient of an Oscar... but then again the Fashion Designer that won an Oscar had on a not-so-spectacular outfit herself.

Above is Diablo Cody, 'exotic dancer' turned screenwriter with her modified tattoo and animal print shift while holding her Oscar.

Below is a photo of Bettie (Betty) Page in an animal print outfit similar to what Sheena Queen of the Jungle wore in the comics.
