Teri Hatcher As Lois Lane....
Mood:  on fire
Topic: TV Shows

I First Noticed Teri Hatcher....

.... in the Quantum Leap TV Show as the girlfriend of Dr Sam Beckett, (Scott Bakula), in an early 1989 episode.

By the time Quantum Leap needed her back for the Donna Eleese role, she had gone on to playing Katherine 'Kiki" Tango in the TV series 'Tango & Cash'.

She went on to play Lois Lane in the TV series 'Lois and Clark, the New Adventures of Superman', as pictured to the left.

Today we all know her as playing Susan in the hit TV show 'Desperate Housewives' !

I thought her performance in Quantum Leap was excellent, and when the girlfriend was shown again, I was disappointed it was not her playing the role.

Teri studied ballet, was a cheerleader with the San Francisco 49ers, among other things, before turning actress.

Teri's early reknown was for the Lois & Clark series, but she has also acted in 'Spy Kids', 'Tomorrow Never Dies' - a James Bond film, a recurring role in MacGyver, and several other TV & Film roles!

She adds a lot to the current hit series 'Desperate Housewives', but I will never forget first finding her in Quantum Leap. She had the 'Star' quality even then! I also feel that she really did fit into her Lois Lane role !

For those interested in Superman comic books, we carry those in our eBay Featured Store and eBay Pro StoreFor those interested in Lois Lane comic book, just click on the Lois Lane comic book cover to the left! Which reminds me.... Valentine's Day is coming up !!!    comics

Roy Rogers... King of the Cowboys....
Mood:  energetic
Topic: TV Shows

Roy Rogers... King of the Cowboys...........

...had a couple of series of comic books from  Dell Comics.

The 'Roy Rogers Comics' series ran for 145 issues from January 1948 to September 1961.

There had been a few 'Four Color Comics' from the Dell series #2 prior to Dell giving Roy his own title, prior to 1948.

Roy Roger's horse Trigger received his own title running for 17 issues from September 1951 to June 1955.

I was born in the early 1950's so caught a lot of westerns on TV during their heyday and later in the theatrical movies of the 1960's especially John Wayne and Audie Murphy flicks. . .

Of all the singing cowboys my favorite was Roy Rogers and his troupe, one member of which was Gabby Hayes.

Gabby Hayes was in 40 westerns between 1939 to 1946, usually with Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, or Wild Bill Elliott !

So far there are not too many Roy Rogers comics submitted for third party grading. It appears that only the comics thought to be in really high grade are being submitted... so this would be a title or genre that is still affordable and readable since they would not be encapsulated!!

For those interested in Roy Rogers Comics run we have several unslabbed  comics listed in our eBay Featured Store and eBay Pro Store.

Alvin and the Chipmunks Movie .... December 14, 2007

Alvin and the Chipmunks Movie .... December 14, 2007

Back in December 2004  Fox 2000 Pictures, Twentieth Century Fox Animation and Bagdasarian Productions announced it would produce a live-action / computer-generated event motion picture on Alvin and the Chipmunks!  The long awaited movie will be released this upcoming Holiday Season !

The Chipmunk trio and Dave Seville made recording, broadcasting and merchandising history by selling 43 million albums, starring in their own animated primetime series, plus numerous primetime specials, and the number one network Saturday Morning shows seen in over 100 countries in 40 languages during the course of their existence.

Over at the Hollywood Stock Exchange, the Place Where Hollywood Meets Wall Street, the Entertainment Prediction Market has seen mostly up days in 'trading' this stock. There is definite interest in this upcoming Holiday Season Movie. For more info just click the link above.

I enjoyed Alvin and the Chipmunks as a kid, and of course had one of their Christmas albums that would drive anyone nuts playing it too long!  Those squeaky voices can get to you after a while....

For those interested in Funnybooks and humor genre of cartoon comic books, we have several for sale in our eBay Featured Store and eBay Pro Store.

Wonder Woman Movie ..... TBA.... 2008 ???
Mood:  irritated
Topic: Comic Book Movies

The Wonder Woman Movie... 2008 ?

The next Wonder Woman movie has been mired in developement hell since 2005 !

So far all that has been released to the public is the one sheet to the top left... which doesn't impress me a heck of a lot !

The movie is coming from Warner Brothers, which owns the DC Comics property 'Wonder Woman'.

The director and screen writer is Joss Whedon.

Over at the Hollywood Stock Exchange, the Place Where Hollywood Meets Wall Street, the Entertainment Prediction Market has seen mostly down days in 'trading' this stock. For more info just click the link above.

Personally I don't think that anyone can outdo the 'true' Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter from the TV Show!  See bottom  left picture for Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman.

The TV show was based on the original charcter created by William Moulton Marston for National Publications (DC Comics) back in 1942.

Lynda was the best thing going for the 1975 - 1979 TV Show. Besides her beauty she had a great personality and physically was believable as a true Wonder Woman.  An earlier attempt with Cathy Lee Crosby just wasn't believable for me.

For those interested in Wonder Woman AND other DC comic books, we have several for sale in our eBay Featured Store and eBay Pro Store.

OK.... Gotta Admit.... I Am A Leaper !!!
Mood:  special
Topic: TV Shows

Quantum Leaper That Is !!!

.... or at least a recovering one....

I started taping the very first show in March of 1989 on my VCR, and taped them all by the time the show ended in May 1993. All 97 episodes, yep all 97 eps that aired on NBC-TV, taped on VHS tapes.  I knew the show was going to be something special, as I didn't normally tape shows back then.

I went to the first Creation sponsored Quantum Leap Con in Los Angeles, and went to each sucessive one that the QL Fans put on in LA & Burbank.

I bought all the QL fan magazines, and there were at least four that ran for a few years! Plus the fan fiction, some of that was really strange!!

Naturally I bought all the Quantum Leap Comics as they came out, and picked up extras for the stars to sign at the cons, and the artists and writer of the comics. The comic book series ran for 13 issues, plus one special reprint, and an annual. The comic book started in September 1991 and ended August 1993.

Funny thing was, there had to be eight females to every two males that were attending the cons.  Basically the females were there to see Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell... the bidding at the auctions for items that Scott wore on the show or the Murphy Brown show were bid exceedingly high!

I attended the cons because it was the first TV Show Based convention that I had attended and I just kept going!  I really enjoyed meeting the actors who were on epsiodes like Richard Herd.... but no, Teri Hatcher never showed up!

Most of the Quantum Leap collectible have already been sold, what is left are items that are personalized to me and which I'll be keeping !

However, for those interested in Quantum Leap comic books, we continue to stock those in our eBay Featured Store and eBay Pro Store
