Blade, Vampire Hunter Movie Trilogy ..... & Comics
Mood:  caffeinated
Topic: Comic Book Movies

Blade the Vampire Hunter... the Movie Trilogy ...

& Comic books...

Blade was a 1998 theatrical film starring Wesley Snipes and Stephen Dorff. Blade was adopted from the Blade comic book series. The film was directed by Stephen Norringtan and written by David Gayer. Wesley Snipes played the title role of Blode, a half-man, half-vampire superhero vampire hunter who becames the protector of humans against the vampires.

The film spawned a sequel, Blade II, which was released in 2002. The last film of the Trilogy, Blade: Trinity, was released in December 2004.

For those interested in the Blade comic book movies based on comic books, we have Blade appearances in our eBay Featured Store and more Blade comics in our eBay Pro Store.

Barb Wire... the Movie ... & Comic books

Barb Wire... the Movie ... & Comic books...

Barb Wire was a 1996 theatrical film based on the Dark Horse Comics, and was produced by Brad Wyman. The movie starred Pamela Anderson in the title role, plus Temeura Morrison, and Victoria Rowell.

The movie was set in the year 2017, and takes place after democracy has fallen and a fascist military junta has taken over the U.S.A. government.

The junta has plotted to wipe out the country with Red Ribbon, a laboratory-manufactured disease derived from the AIDS virus. The entire test city of Topeka has been annihilated, and only the small bastion of Steel Harbor remains the last free zone in the country.

Steel Harbor is the home of the title heroine Pamela Lee. Barb, a leather-clad, busty motorcycle mama, who besides owning a bar, moonlights as a bounty hunter!  The plot thickens as she comes upon her freedom-fighter ex-lover and his wife (much in the vein of Casablanca film).

I was one of the few that didn't watch Pamela on the Baywatch TV show, however I did catch her in a Playboy issue, and caught this movie near the end of its theatrical run.

In my opinion Pamela was right on as the heroine and so much so that the artwork in the comics started portraying Pamela's image possibly as a sales ploy. This is one of the early comic book movies before the recent explosion of this movie genre, and is actually not that bad.... It is watchable versus the first Captain America movie, or the first Punisher Movie, or even the first Fantastic Four movie that was not released!

For those interested in other comic book movies based on comic books, we have several hundred in our eBay Featured Store and eBay Pro Store. Our Barb Wire Comics are in the eBay Pro Store only. Just Don't Call Her Babe!

Great Tie-In with Newly Received eBay Mailed Brochure.......

...that we received at our PO Box yesterday!   I was pleased to see that it was featuring more collectible items than the last few brochures had.

The theme of this newly received brochure is:

"It all started with... a bid on the future and led to a passion for the past".

For our category It featured X-Men collectibles  on page 6 & 7 with two X-Men comics, so we have listed more of our own X-Men Comic Books to tie in with the brochure!

The brochure states: 'Miles of mutant collectilbes -- comics, action figures, clothing and more.'

While we can't say that we have miles of X-Men collectibles....we do have many X-Men and mutant related comics which we have listed among the rest of the Marvel Super-heroes in our eBay Featured Store and eBay Pro Store to take advantage of the advertising eBay is providing for us!

Wizard World LA.... Comic Book Convention in March at Los Angeles!
    Mood:  caffeinated
    Topic: Comic Cons

    March 16th - 17th - 18th .......

.... are the dates for the next Wizard World in LA !

My youngest son and I attended the LA version of Wizard World last year and enjoyed it for a one day visit.

While it is not as large as its' comic con neighbor to the south, (SDCC), it was a fun day for both of us and only a couple hours drive to see it.

The Wizard World appeared to be well organized as far as able to get into the exhibit hall, however the programs / panels were hard to find last year.  More emphasis was put on the exhibit hall, which could be seen in total in less than half a day.

We will be attending again this year, for buying and catching up on what's the latest in the industry... plus hopefully seeing some special guests including Marc Silvestri, Marv Wolfman and others...

For comics that we have bought at other Comic Cons for resale, please check our comic books listed in our eBay Featured Store, or at our eBay Pro Store:  MakeItSoMarketing.com .
