Fourth Annual Black Friday Event

Is Happening Online Friday,
November 23rd!

TODAY'S FEATURE IS BLOG #3745 -   That's right!

It's time for the 4th Annual Black Friday Event here at ComicBookCollectorsBlog.com / ComicBooksCircus.com / Michael D Hamersky On Comics!

I started this as an event at my Facebook page back in November of 2009.  It grew from a one day event to a four day event last year in 2011, as it went on from Black Friday to Cyber Monday.

This year I'm downsizing it back to a 'Black Friday' event only...

Here's all you have to do to make yourself eligible to win...

1)  Click the 'Like' link on my Facebook Fan Page

AND

2) Click the 'Attending' link on the Event Page I have set up on Facebook.

Just doing those two things makes YOU eligible to win at this year's Black Friday Event!  Please note:  Clicking 'Maybe' attending does NOT include you in the drawings for the awards / prizes

The list of prizes / awards will be slowly listed at both of the above pages in the days to come... But here is a link to the list of 22 awards / prizes given away last year, by gift & receipient.

Here is the page link that this year's event prizes will be listed at.

Of course this event is to promote my online comic book shop, ComicBooksCircus.com, where I will be listing even more items for sale in the weeks to come.

My thanks to ALL of YOU that elect to do the two actions above.  Feel free to link this blog to your Facebook, Twitter, or other social media pages to let your friends know about this event!

~ Michael

2012 Nuke The Fridge Con

Is Happening Saturday, November 10th!

TODAY'S FEATURE IS BLOG #3744 -   I ran into Louis Love, Organizer of the Nuke The Fridge Con, at this past weekend's Long Beach Comic & Horror Con, where he had a table promoting his convention.  The photo in the center of this blog shows both Louis and myself posing for Tina LoSasso to take a photo of us!  And yes... I'm holding one of the promo cards that is shown to right of our photo!

I would have mentioned his upcoming convention earlier in this blog, but time has been short lately.  Matter of fact... The 2012 Nuke the Fridge Con is THIS upcoming Saturday, November 10th!

I do want to mention that last year, at the 2011 Nuke the Fridge Con, Tina and I set up a table at the cconvention, where I had my book signing for 'Gotham City 14 Miles'!   Here's a link to that blog #3561 that I review blogged the 2011 convention.

I won't be attending this year's Nuke the Fridge Con, because Tina and myself are leaving for vacation on the same Saturday... Darn!

As explained in the blog #3561, this convention is unusual because, one:  the parking is FREE, and two: the cost to attend the con is also FREE!

The Nuke the Fridge Con is held within the location of the Frank and Son Collectible Show, which is also FREE to attend!

So attending this convention is pretty darn easy to do!

My only suggestion is that if you do attend this convention is that you get there early, so that there is room for you to park... As the parking lots get full pretty fast!

Again, my thanks to Louis Love for reminding me about his convention while we all were at the Long Beach Comic & Horror Con this past weekend!

Here's the links you need to have:

Facebook Fan Page for Nuke the Fridge Con, that runs from 9AM to 5PM.

Facebook Fan Page for Frank and Son Collectible Show, where the Con will be held.

Sorry that we will miss this event, due to our vacation... But you don't have to miss it if you are in Southern California!  It is located at 19649 San Jose Ave, City of Industry, CA 91748.

~ Michael

2012 Long Beach Comic & Horror Con

That Ran November 3rd - 4th!

TODAY'S FEATURE IS BLOG #3743 -   WoW!   That's the word from me about the 4th Annual Long Beach Comic & Horror Con that took place this past weekend, November 3rd & 4th, in the Long Beach Convention Center, in Long Beach, California!

This is the 4th multiple day show event for the convention, which started in 2009.  There have also been three one day Long Beach Comic Con Expos since then.  I've been lucky to be attend all of them so far!

So first, let me state the following:

Tina and I arrived at the Long Beach Convention Center a little after 9AM.  We were not able to park directly underneath the center, as we have usually been able to do in the past.  However, there was ample parking across the street, where we were directed to go to.  So the parking structure was okay, along with the fee for parking ($10.00).

The lines to get into the LBCHC were manageable, and the staff got them into the convention center floor pretty fast.

The convention floor was opened at 9:30 AM on Saturday for those that had registered early, and the floor was well attended.  I believe that the maximum amount of persons on the floor on Saturday was around 3PM.

The layout of the floor was pretty good, and having the 'Artists Alley' in the center, all together by tables, was pretty darn good!

Tina and I hit all of the tables in the 'Artists Alley' before and after the panels that we attended.

I will be posting videos from those panels at my YouTube Channel, Michael D Hamersky On Comics.

The panels that I attended were previously mentioned in blog #3739, which you can view at that link.

I found them to be very informative, and even Tina had interest in most of the ones we attended together!

The panels were held in rooms on the ground floor, while the exhibit hall was on the lower floor.  The panels Tina and I attended were not standing room only, and there were no lines outside the rooms before the next panel started.  Each room had an observer from the staff of the LBCHC, which was good to have.

We left the last couple of hours on Saturday to finish covering the exhibit floor.  We covered all of the areas that either of us was interested in, and even managed to pick up several packages of comics at dealers tables!

Oh, and I did want to point out, that in the top second right photo at the top of this blog, is myself along with Batton Lash.  Batton had a special panel at 1PM titled: 'Spotlight on Batton Lash', and he was kind enough to ask me to be on the panel with him, as the interviewer!  Which I enjoyed doing!  That was fun!

So here are the links to what I think you should take a look at:

Facebook Fan Page for the Long Beach Comic Con

Facebook Fan Page for Supernatural Law (Batton Lash's comic)

My YouTube Channel for videos from the Convention Michael D Hamersky on Comics

More LBCHC photos at my Facebook Fan Page for Michael D Hamersky On Comics

I understand that the 2013 Long Beach Comic & Horror Con will be on November 30th thru December 1st of 2013.   The one day Long Beach Comic Expo will take place in the Spring of 2013. I will be sure to mention both of these upcoming events in this Blog of mine.

My thanks to Martha Donato, Phil Lawrence, Mike Scigliano, and all the others who have continued to put on a great show at the Long Beach Convention Center for the 7th time!   This is definitely one comic con that I enjoy attending each time!  I urge YOU to take this in next year by attending either the one day Expo or the two day Con.

~ Michael

Comic Book Covers That I Want To Share With YOU To Get You In The Mood For Halloween 2012!

TODAY'S FEATURE IS BLOG #3741 -   Hey there!  It's Halloween!

As I did last year at this time... I'm going to share with you silly / spooky / scary comic book covers from the past!

Here's the first one: Above Top Right Photo: The comic book that made me STOP READING comics... AND START COLLECTING comics!  Journey Into Mystery #72 cover dated September of 1961!  Outstanding comic book cover from Jack Kirby & Dick Ayers!  The inside cover story by Stan Lee wasn't so bad either!  This is when I realized that 'real people' were behind the scenes creating comic books!  There weren't any comic cons back then to see how comic books were produced!

Here's the rest of this year's selections:

Well... That's it for this year's selections!

Happy Halloween!
