Upcoming Elvis Presley Experience Graphic Novel!

Projected Publication For The Summer of 2010!

Click Here to see our ENDING SOONEST Marvel Superheroes Comics listings!

Above:  Stan Lee with Jay Allen Sanford circa 1991 with the Unauthorized 'Contemporary Bio-Graphics' issue on Stan (The Man) Lee!  Jay was the writer of that issue.

To the top right: The 'Sneak Peak' at the front cover of the upcoming Elvis Presley Experience Graphic Novel!

To the right:  Yeah, that's Michael at his first batchelor pad circa 1973, when he was still interested in record collecting, (check out the wall posters of whom besides Elvis!). Plus Marvel Comics, as seen by the other posters on the wall!  And of course a few cans of 'Coors' for nourishment... Those and the old Charburgers 5 for a $1.00 burger menu got me through a lot of college days! That way I could buy used LP records at the 'Arcade Music Store' in downtown San Diego for $1.95 each!

Okay, I had to do it... I bumped the scheduled blog post for this morning so I could run this post instead!

And No, I don't usually do that, unless it is something big!

So look at the top right of this blog post...

You are looking at a "Sneak peek at the cover to a book collection of the seven issue Rock 'N' Roll Comics series The Elvis Presley Experience - probably won't come out until around summer 2010"!

That's what I was told yesterday... and being an Elvis Presley fan, and a big fan of the rock comics / graphic novel format, I had to tell ya all of this upcoming graphic novel today!

Yeah, we gotta wait until the Summer of 2010, but I'll be looking for this one from Bluewater Productions!  It's definitely on My List!

My Thanks to Jay Allen Sanford who brought this to my attention!

Oh... and Jay is shown at the above top left with Stan Lee, holding a copy of the 'Contemporary Bio-Graphics' issue on Stan Lee circa 1991 when it was first published by Revolutionary Comics!  We are down to our last copy of this HTF comic book in our online store.  Plus, I don't know about other dealers, but we find it hard to keep any Revolutionary Comics publications in stock on bands that they covered during their publishing period.  Those were good comics and now many collectors of both rock music and comic books are busy looking for those!

Jay Allen Sanford is a pretty busy guy.  For more on what he is doing please check these web sites at:

http://www.myspace.com/jayallensanford
http://www.myspace.com/sandiegoreadermus
http://www.rocknrollcomics.com

My thanks to Jay for bringing the above to my attention... I do appreciate that!

AND... Thanks again to all of YOU reading our current and archived blog posts!  We do blog daily on comic book creators, comic book reviews, comic cons, and other pop culture news and events including some TV shows and theatrical films as they are shown!   Be sure to check out our new listings of comics, graphic novels, Comic Con exclusives and more pop culture items for sale in our online eBay Featured Store that our blogs are based on!  It's due to sales at this online store that keep us going with the ability to post blogs like the one you have read here today!

SPECIAL FEATURETTE:   So For those of YOU that read this far into my blog posts.... Here's something else that YOU can hopefully look forward to during the Summer of  2010!  And I'm quoting here:  "Brand new cover for a proposed Pink Floyd Experience graphic novel, collecting all five issues of the original Rock 'N' Roll Comics series in a new book from Bluewater Productions"!

Man, If there's something I like about rock music and comics separately, it's even better when they are put together in a comic book or graphic novel format!  So I'm looking forward to this proposed GN also!

To the left:  Tina enjoys attending the Pop Culture Programs @ Cons, especially those at the @ San Diego Comic Con International. That's because she has to be there even before the News Channels are set up to be early in line for the first program of the day!  She doesn't even want to talk about what hour she had to be in line for the 'Last LOST TV Show Panel' at the 2009 SDCC!

PLEASE NOTE: This blog post stating our shipping rates was first poste October 29th, 2009.  Unfortunately the USPS has revised their rates for January 4th, 2009.

So the below blog post is revised to reflect those rates!

-------------------------------------

This is a revised blog post combining our earlier posts from May and August of this year when we revised our shipping rates.  And domestic shipping actually went down at that time!

Today... Because eBay has decided to 'retire' their blog platform as of October 31st, 2009, we had to use our own domain named Blog to post all the details that we can't fit into the eBay FAQs, message links etc.  However we are NOT asking our eBay repeat customers and potential eBay customers to buy off eBay. We just needed a message board to send those asking questions about what we ship and for how much to their area of the world.

This blog post is our means to tell everything that we can in ONE place to make it easier for ALL of our customers, both eBay and non-eBay alike!  We do have 'want-list' customers that keep us updated as to what they are looking for and those customers get first opportunity at our items Before they are listed in our eBay Store...

So the following rates apply to ALL of our customers, and are restated here since the eBay blog posts will be deleted after Halloween, (and no we're NOT trickn' you, that's eBay's decision!).

SHIPPING COST TO USA Addresses:

SHIPPING COST FOR NON-CGC COMIC BOOKS:
This FLAT RATE Shipping is for NON-CGC graded comic books only!  (NO magazines, NO CGC encapsulated graded comics, and NO other non-comic items are included in this shipping special!)  We will continue to ship unlimited non-CGC graded comics to USA addresses only at the special $3.95 shipping! Whether you buy 1 or 3 or 10 or even more comics, the shipping rate for comic books is still $3.95! PLUS for the $3.95 you get FREE Delivery Receipt Confirmation for tracking your purchase(s)!  PLEASE NOTE: If you add non-comics to your comic purchases we cannot ship them for this special $3.95 rate.  The rate is for comics only!  If you combine comics with mags, TPBs, etc. then we have to use combined shipping which will be more than the $3.95.  How much more?  We don't know until the items are pulled!
SHIPPING COST FOR MAGAZINES:
We also sell Magazines, but they are odd-sized and varied in number of pages so they cannot be sent via the 'unlimited shipping' rate, sorry!  We will combine shipping where we can, but please email us FIRST for combined shipping cost BEFORE you click to buy multiple magazines!  We will have to revise our Flat Rate Priority Mail Box shipping to $11.95 for January 3rd, 2010!
SHIPPING COST FOR CGC GRADED COMICS:
CGC graded comics come in plastic holders and are shipped only via a Priority BOX so as to protect the holders.  We can place 1 to 2 CGC graded comics in the Flat Rate Priority Box for $11.95 to USA addresses only
-------------------------------
SHIPPING COST TO CANADA:

FLAT RATE Priority International Shipping is for NON-CGC graded comic books only!  We will ship 4 to 9 non-CGC graded comics to CANADIAN addresses only at the $12.95 shipping charge!  Sorry, no magazines and no CGC graded comics at this shipping rate!
However, If you want to buy JUST ONE NON-CGC comic, (no magazines, just a comic), then the shipping cost would be $4.99 for FIRST CLASS INTERNATIONAL, but  ONLY FOR ONE SINGLE STANDARD SIZED COMIC BOOKFor 2 to 3 standard sized comics... We can ship those comics (only non-CGC comics) for $6.99 USD!
PLEASE NOTE: We will ship up to 25 single standard sized non-slabbed comics in a Flat Rate Priority Box International to Canadian addresses. The shipping and handling charge for that is $28.95 USD.
For those in Canada that are interested in magazines, we can ship one in a Flate Rate Priority Mail Envelope for $12.95 USD. Possibly two magazines in a Flat Rate Envelope depending upon the magazine size and page counts.  Please email us first with which magazine(s) you are interested in as we do not list magazines for international shipping normally. The listings would have to each be revised to allow you to purchase them individually. We will be glad to do so after we communicate with you on the costs and how many would fit in the envelope!
For CGC Comics - We are now shipping them to Canadian addresses. On an individual buyer basis only. Please email us if you have interest in our CGC listings. The CGC encapsulated comics would have to be shipped via Priority International Flat Rate Box for the $28.95 USD Shipping Charge PLUS Insurance if over $25.00 value of the item. We can place from one to two CGC encapsulated comic(s) in each Flat Rate Box.
SHIPPING COST TO UNITED KINGDOM & AUSTRALIA:

FLAT RATE Priority International Shipping is for NON-CGC graded comic books only!  We will ship 2 to 9 non-CGC graded comics, (no magazines) to the UK or AU/NZ for $14.95 USD as that is what the Priority International Envelope will hold with cardboard insert for protection.
However, If you want to buy JUST ONE NON-CGC comic, (no magazines, just a single standard sized comic book), then the shipping cost would be $9.99 for FIRST CLASS INTERNATIONAL, but  ONLY FOR ONE SINGLE STANDARD SIZED COMIC BOOK.
Magazines are not normally listed for shipping to the UK & Australia. However, we can ship them, but as explained in the section above for Canadian buyers, the sizes and page counts make those purchases more difficult to figure out shipping costs. Please email us so we can figure out what can be shipped to you and for what cost.
NOTE:  We will ship up to 25 single standard sized raw (non encapsulated CGC comics) in a flat rate priority mail box to the UK and Australia.  Our charge for this would be $45.95 USD at this time for the shipping.
For CGC Graded Comics - We are now shipping them to UK and Australian addresses. On an individual buyer basis only. Please email us if you have interest in our CGC listings. The CGC encapsulated comics would have to be shipped via Priority International Flat Rate Box for the $45.95 USD Shipping Charge PLUS Insurance if over $25.00 value of the item. We can place from one to two CGC encapsulated comic(s) in each Flat Rate Box.
SHIPPING COST TO OTHER COUNTRIES:

For other countries that are NOT listed above, we still may be able to ship to YOUR country! There are multiple reasons why we don't universally show that we ship to your country, but we encourage you to e-mail us with your question as to shipping charges for YOUR country!
Thanks for bearing with us today, those of You looking for a blog post on the comics and pop culture world that also enjoy.  We'll be back tomorrow with another blog post on those happenings!  ;)

I met Joshua Cozine of Stranger Comics at the recent 2009 Long Beach Comic Con while he was at The Antidote Trust booth.

Joshua, (the Editor), is shown at the top right of this blog post holding both covers of the first issue of The Untamed: A Sinner's Prayer.  Back on September 7th I blogged about issue #1 of the series. (Click here for that post.

Today I'm blogging my thoughts on issue #2 of which the front cover is seen on the top left of this blog.

First, here's what the Press Release tells what issue #2 is about:

A Stranger has returned to Oasis. A deal has been made. Seven souls for seven days. Now he is holed up in a tavern cared for by a girl not old enough to remember his past.  She radiates an innoncence that defies his thirst for vengeance.  But there is another soul to collect, and he shall find it within the brutal and blood soaked underbelly of the town.  The Pit Fight Arena!

The credits for this issue are as follows:

Writer:        Sebastian A. Jones
Artist:         Peter Bergting

Art Dir:        Darrell May
Letters:       Troy Peteri
                   Christopher Walmsley
Cover:         Peter Bergting

Editor:        Joshua Cozine

As stated in my earlier post on issue #1, this genre is not normally what I would read for 'fun', but I was drawn to continue on from the first issue for several reasons as explained in my earlier post.

Those reasons were reinforced with this issue!  The artwork flows on each page and with the coloring complementing the tone that the writer is conveying with the written words. There is more dialogue in this issue than the previous one, but not where it is 'interfering' with the artwork.  There is a good mix of scenes and text on each page.   And I as a reader don't feel that this mini-series is being 'stretched out' in any way to take more of my dollars just to continue on the seven day journey, (seven issues).  Which is a good thing!  As a reader I want entertainment value for my dollars.

The two issues printed in this mini series is a 'class act' so far.  If you have missed the first issue, you can actually see it animated now at: http://www.strangercomics.com/asunda/untamed.php, just click the 'Watch' box at the web site!

For more info on issue #2 of this series from Stranger Comics, please check this page:    http://www.strangercomics.com/asunda/untamed2/!

I look forward to seeing 'Day 3 of 7' of this mini-series....

Oh, and Yes that is Dale Wilson of DWAP Productions standing behind Joshua Cozine in the top right photo of this blog post.  I have blogged about DWAP's Caffeine Dreams comic book series before:  (Click here !).

I met Laura Rosenberg of PSA.com at the recent 2009 Long Beach Comic Con while she was at the PSA vendor booth.

Even though I don't 'collect' sports cards, I still have some from my 'youth', plus several non-sports cards sets of comic book characters and TV shows.  So I made the time to check out what PSA had to offer in third party grading for cards as I knew that PSA has a good 'rep' in the industry.  (I had not seen them represented before at other comics cons.)

Laura pointed out the current issue of the SMR (Sports Market Report) magazine, and it immediately was one that I wanted!  The cover had one of the 1966 Batman TV Show Cards featured in a PSA encapsulation.  So I got that issue to read later.

I'm glad I did!   There was also a back of the magazine feature of the 1966 Green Hornet TV Show card set!   I'm a 'little' excited about the upcoming 2010 Green Hornet Film as well.  So this article and the Batman cards article were good reading for me!

And neither article was about sports cards in this 'Sports Market Report' magazine!  That's why you can't judge a book (or magazine or comic, etc.) by their title!

Here's what else is in this November 2009 issue, (of course there's Sports Cards info!):

FEATURES

•The Baby's Set – The Top 1975 Topps Football Set
•The 1972 Topps Football Set – Full of "firsts" and "lasts"
•1966 Donruss Green Hornet Set – Get Ready for the Buzz

COLUMNS

•Taking My Hacks: Stretching the Truth
•Set Registry: The 1966 Topps Batman Sets (Part I)

COLLECTING GUIDES

•A Note About Pricing
•PSA Grading Standards
•PSA Reference Guide
•Autograph Guide
•Graded Autographed Baseball Guide

MARKET REPORT PRICES

•Baseball Cards
•Basketball Cards
•Football Cards
•Hockey Cards
•Boxing Cards
•Golf Cards
•Non-Sports
•Autographs
•Graded Autographed Baseballs

My thanks to Laura Rosenberg who took the time to show me what PSA is doing for those that have non-sports cards as well as sports cards!

For info on this issue and other back issues of the SMR, check this page:    http://www.psacard.com/smrweb/backissues/1109.chtml or look for it at Your LCBS or sports collectible shop!  Of course there is also additional info on how You can submit your cards to PSA for 3rd party grading as well!

What Happened To The

'Miserable Dastards'?!

Well..... They've Been Collected In A TPB Now!

Click Here to see our NEWLY LISTED Comics, Graphic Novels, Toys, Fanzines and Prozines!

Above:  Photo of the first issue of 'Miserable Dastards'!

To the top right: The creator & writer of the series, Richard A Hamilton, as seen in the TAT Booth!

I met Richard A Hamilton at the recent Long Beach Comic Con while he was at 'The Antidote Trust' booth.

Back on August 22nd I had blogged about the first issue of this 3 part comic book series, (click here for that post).   He remembered the blog post and asked me if I had seen the next two issues of that series.  I hadn't, but told him that with the first issue being so good, that it had a good start and would remember to look for the final two issues.  That's when he told me that the three issue mini-series was being 'collected' into a Trade Paper Back (TPB).

Now the mini-series is available as a TPB for those of you that didn't get all three issues of the 'floppies' (single issues) either!  Here are the details for this collected mini-series:

(Writer) Richard A. Hamilton (Art) Jeremy Dale, Rob Jones
They lurk in the background, wear ridiculous matching outfits, and take gloved punches to the face while the real bad guys escape. They're Dastards, henchmen-for-hire who just want to pay their mortgages and put their kids through college. But after suffering one humiliating defeat too many, three daring Dastards stop taking orders and start scheming their own criminal capers. See what happens when these blue-collar thugs reach for the stars and have every super-hero and villain in Philadelphia out for Dastard blood!

Format: GRAPHIC NOVEL (TPB)
Price: $9.99
ISBN: 061529653X

Okay, if You have already clicked on the link above that would have taken you to my earlier blog post on the first issue of this series... You would know that I loved the premise, the writing, the artwork... everything actually about the first issue.

So, having now read the TPB, I was able to finish the story arc that was presented in the first issue.  You know... it didn't disappoint me!

The story was funny AND entertaining, the pencils by Jeremy Dale were just right for this series, and Rob Jones complemented the artwork by inking it.  Colors by Jelle Van Den Brink added to the whole presentation.

I for one enjoyed seeing this in a TPB (graphic novel style) format!  This was a fun read... and I would say it would be for those that don't always want their comics in a 'grim and gritty' style.

I also appreciated the 'winks' to the well known Dynamic Duo, who in this story are portrayed as 'The Cowl' and 'Kid Cowl'.

To order your copy direct from the Dial 'C' For Comics people, check this page:    http://dialcforcomics.com/shop/fs_shop.htmlor look for it at Your LCBS, as this just hit the stands last week!

CONVENTION PHOTOS FEATURETTE:  Two more comics creators that we saw at the 2009 Long Beach Comic Con were Corinna Sara Bechko and her husband Gabriel Hardman.  I have already blogged about their great graphic novel 'Heathentown' (Click here for my blog post!).  To see what else they are working on, check out their web site:  http://www.comicspace.com/heathencomics/!
