a-okTopic: Other Non Comics Works
I was emailed two different invitations... from two persons for the 16th Birthday Party that the independent book store 'Mysterious Galaxy' is throwing this upcoming Saturday, May 9th in San Diego, California. Both invitations showed that there will be a day long celebration being held at the book store, but the second one showcased a Facebook friend of mine that writes both novels and comics! That would be Jeffrey J Mariotte, who is pictured above at the top right. His newest book 'Cold Black Hearts' is shown at the above left of this blog post. He will be at the celebration most of the day, but Jeff says the following about his special special signing hour: "At noon I'll be on with my friend Alice Henderson. I'll be talking about and signing new supernatural thriller Cold Black Hearts (only on sale that day, by special arrangement, then off sale again until the end of the month, so order your signed copy now!), and Alice's new supernatural thriller is Voracious." For those of you that have only read Jeffrey's comic books or graphic novels, here's a special treat for you to introduce you to his novel work. As for the rest of the big birthday bash shindig, Maryelizabeth Hart tells us the following: "As we prepare for the next sixteen years and beyond, we invite you to join us on Saturday, May 9, for our annual all day celebration, featuring some fantastic spotlight authors, special bargains, a new assortment of our fabulous IndieBound "Eat. Sleep. Read." T-shirts, and, of course, cake! Adding to the fun, we will have a quiz about our staff that will test your knowledge of your favorite booksellers (and, of course, prizes for those with the highest scores!)." And the above doesn't even mention who else will be there... For those of you that like 'Harry Dresden' publications... well, Jim and Shannon Butcher will be on following Jeffrey! It is not for certain if any of Jim's 'Harry Dresden' comics will be there, but here is a chance to meet Jim and Shannon in person. (NOTE: This is a numbered event. Numbers for the signing line are available with purchase of Turn Coat from Mysterious Galaxy.) With all the above going on, PLUS Jeff there in person, well... I'm definitely pushing attending this birthday bash with Tina, our 'social director', LOL!
