TODAY'S FEATURE - Blog #3299: I attended the 'World Premiere' of 'The Cape' at the 2010 Comic-Con International: San Diego this past July. It was previewed at a special panel on Friday, July 23rd, from 2:15 - 3:15. The room attendants distributed severl of the above pictured 'SDCC Exclusive' mini comic book, an 8 page booklet, measuring approx 4 & 1/2" x 6 & 1/2" in size. That was to create additional 'buzz' about the the then upcoming mid-season replacement TV show in 2011. Well... It's now December 9th of 2010, and the 'upcoming' mid-season replacement is scheduled to start airing soon! Sunday, January 9th, a month from today, is the two hour premiere from 9 - 11 PM. The 'normal' Monday night time slot for the show starts on Janury 17th. The series has been picked up for 13 episodes. Although the cast for the TV Show has several known actors, such as Summer Glau shown above left in the cast photo and a Comic-Con photo, the 'buzz' wasn't all that 'big' at the special comic-con program I attended... It's been a few months since then, and I'm starting to see more 'buzz' online now. I'm also going to give this show a 'try' starting January 9th, and if there are more comic-book related stories to this new TV Show, I'll 'report' back here. The mini-comic is supposed to be a 'preview' for the Graphic Novel... So we'll see! You can find out more about this show like I did at: The Cape on NBC, Orwell Is Watching You, and the Wikipedia entry. I personally enjoyed certain aspects of the Preview that was showed at Comic-Con... But there was enough time between the July SDCC and the January Premiere to 'fix' the snags that were 'voiced' at this Comic-Con program. We'll see...! For those of YOU not fortunate enough to attend the 2010 SDCC, I have the above pictured SDCC mini-comic exclusive at my own online LCBS at ComicBooksCircus.com for reasonable amount plus shipping until I run out! -------------- My thanks again to all of YOU reading this blog and our archived blog posts, now over 3,295 total posts in number! | | My thanks to those of YOU that have read today's blog post! I do appreciate that! For those of you that didn't know me before today... I first set up as a 'dealer' at the 1972 San Diego West Coast Comic Con (SDCC) at the El Cortez Hotel. So I've been around comic conventions for a little while, LOL! My wife Tina and I now have an on-line exhibitor (dealer) table at the first "virtual" comic con titled the "Facebook Comic Con" (FBCC)! You can view our dealer table and interact with us there on Facebook by clicking this link, which takes you to our table named: 'Facebook Comic Con | Make It So Marketing'. Plus I have a chapter in a new book coming out in December of 2010, that is pictured above, "Gotham City 14 Miles"! Click here to become a 'Fan' of the GC14M Facebook Fan Page!. Also, if you are a Facebook member and would like to also join my Facebook Network, I would have liked to have sent you a Friend Request. However, I have reached the maximum of 5,000 Facebook Friends and Fan pages 'limit' already, so I have now added on a personal Facebook Fan Page of my own! ------------------- Talking about comics: if YOU are a comics creator, (writer, penciler, inker, colorist, letterer, etc.), OR even a Comics / Magazine Publisher, feel free to contact me regarding YOUR works for a possible mention / review! I've made a special blog post about: "How To Best Submit YOUR Publication For Possible Review!" for those creators / publishers that would like to possibly have their publications mentioned or reviewed.
