Will Personalize A Comic To YOU!

That's Right!   Marci Beaucoux, Blogger for William Katt's endeavors, notified me that Catastrophic Comics has listed ten copies of the first issue of Stephen J Cannell's Greatest American Hero for sale on eBay.

The neat thing about these ten issues are that they sport the 'Red Variant Cover' Limited Edition version of the first issue.  The special issue's cover price is $9.99 and for a limited only, this issue will have an autograph by William Katt on the cover.  Plus for YOU, if you want, you can ask William to personalize it to you or a friend!

The issue alone is retailed at $9.99 and in this special listing, the personalized signature to you would be added in for 'One Cent'!  There is a shipping & handling charge for the comic to be mailed to you.

The eBay listing for this special signed comic book can be seen by clicking here

If you or someone you know is into the show, and also a fan of William's, this signed or personalized comic could make a great gift!

(Please note:  This listing is NOT one of Make It So Marketing's... it comes directly from William's eBay enterprise.)

The Brent Clark Rogers Guide To The DC Universe!

The Brent Clark Rogers

Guide To The DC Universe!

Click Here to see our current listed Comics, Books, Toys and Graphic Novels!

The 6th Edition - 2005 Book!

Brent Clark Rogers...  Contacted me recently as I asked him about his Book on the DC Universe and the status of any revised edtion forthcoming.

Brent wrote back that "I write the Brent Clark Rogers Guide to the DC Universe. 6 editions out since 1996. I'm hard at work on the 7th. Covers by Scott Rosema".

A review copy of the book was sent to me just as Tina and I were leaving for the Skirball Cultural Center this past weekend, so I brought the book along for reading and discussion with Tina who is into marketing, but not totally familar with the DC Universe.

What I found was that this is a Reference Book... not a Coffee Table Book.  As such it is a book that would be of value to fans, collectors, and dealers that read, collect, or buy and sell DC Comics.

Brent does have a few copies left from his last printing that are available for purchase.  The Cost of the book would be the $40.00 cover price plus $6.50 for shipping and handling. You can contact him directly to purchase a copy.  He believes that he'll also be exhibiting at the Wizard World Chicago Con in August of 2009, should you like to meet him and view the book there also.

Now that I've introduced Brent and his book, the next question would be:

So what is the book about?   Again, I have to emphasize that this is a 'Reference Book', NOT a 'Coffee Table Book".  This book has one black and white illustration, seen on the front cover, and a photo of the author on the back cover. There are no illustrations, photos, etc. inside the book.

This book is a compilation best bought by serious DC fans, and those collectors / dealers that want to know the first appearance of everyone in the DCU up to 2005, plus more data as defined in the additional sections of the book.

Really! It's just Not from the Gold, Silver, or Modern Ages! It's from the beginning of DC in 1935 to 2005. Not only every character, but as of 2005, all 718 teams and groups are listed, each with every member that has ever been on the team! There are no characters too obscured not to be mentioned in this book!

The section “About the Book” that is printed in the beginning of the book serves as a mini "table of contents".  There you can see that there is a brief explanation of the six main sections: “People,” “Teams & Groups,” “Families,” “Planets,” “Extraterrestrial Races,” and “Bibliography”.

The 'Planets' section alone covers over 1,000 Planets named in the DCU. The 'ETs' number 914 in different races!

Since this book has been in print for a while, there have been other comics experts out there that have reviewed it.  Some of the favorable reviews on this reference book came from Tony Isabella, Andrew 'Captain Comics' Smith and also Beau Smith.

Original cover price: $40.00
Number of pages: 716
6th Edition - 2005

Softcover, 6-in. x 9-in., 716 pages, Text Only.

You Can Order This Book From the author/publisher:

Brent Clark Rogers, 34 Grant St, Shelby, MI 49455

by sending $46.50 for the book which includes S&H via money order or personal check to the address above.

Brent has informed me that this year, 2009, would be his 25th Anniversary in publishing this book.  Should an updated edition be printed later this year, I'll be sure to mention it here. In the meantime his 6th Edition is the latest Edition that has been published and still available from the author.

(Note: A complimentary copy for this mention / review was provided by the author.)

Cut! Film Festival Will Preview The Code Name: Zeus Trailer!
Mood:  caffeinated
Topic: Other Cons

Click here to see our current listings of Graphic Novels, Comics, Magazines, and other Pop Culture Items!

Cut! Film Festival

Will Preview Code Name: Zeus!

CUT! Film Festival celebrates film and those who create them...  I have been notified that LiquidSPACE in conjunction with Graykin Entertainment and GALS Charitable Foundation will be presenting CUT! Film Festival 2009! The festival is a benefit and celebration of cinema dedicated to the art and imagination that goes into the creation of film.

The festival will be taking place the weekend of March 14-15, 2009 at the historic Aero Theatre, 1328 Montana Ave. at 14th Street, Santa Monica, California.

What is neat about this festival is that "from concept to pre-production, production and post, you’ll hear the back-story of how a concept became screenplay and how screenplay became film".

My main interest in this Festival is on an project that I blogged about before, Code Name: Zeus.  There are several other projects that are presented at this festival, but lack of space in this blog format keeps me from mentioning them. I'll leave you to check out The Cut! Film Festival blog site at http://www.cutfilmfestival.org.

My main interest at the Festival would be on SATURDAY, MARCH 14th, when...

"The festival kicks off with Graykin Entertainment presenting Code Name: Zeus with its creator, DANIEL VEST. A big hit at Comic Con 2008, Code Name: Zeus interweaves the past with the future, pulling in the mythology of the Greeks into a future world where Sam, taking on the code-name Zeus, must master his own past to lead his team of deified avatars to uncover the mystery that threatens New Olympus and the very fabric of the universe. Daniel and guests will unveil the trailer for the very first time, discuss the origins of Code Name: Zeus, and how it went from concept to reality.e a cinema lover’s dream!"

I have been told that all the screenings and panels will be followed by a 'Meet and Greet Session' with the guests.  So for those of you able to attend this Festival bring your camera and a sharpie and most of all, enjoy the weekend seeing as many programs and panels as you can

Also, there is an important raffle going on prior to the Festival... winner receives one (1) Platinum VIP ticket to attend all events including the VIP Party being held on March 13th.  Check out this link for details:  http://www.cutfilmfestival.org/raffle.html

Click Here to see our current listed Comics, Books, and Graphic Novels, some!  For those of you that missed my earlier blog post... You can still see a Free Preview of the project by downloading it from this web site:

http://www.badongo.com/file/11323892

Click Here to see our current listed Comics, Books, and Graphic Novels, some! Daniel Vest is the creator of Code Name: Zeus, however there are many others that have joined him in this endeavor! They include Tony 'Melmoth' Bradt - co artist, Jeremy Mace and Steve D'Arcangelo -co writers with Daniel, and more. For those of you that are on Facebook, you can join the Facebook group 'Code Name: Zeus' at:

David Hedison... Is just one of the media stars that will be attending the 2009 WonderCon, which will be held at the Moscone Center South in San Francisco, California from February 27 to March 1.

David will be in the 'Autographs' area at table M 20. If you're in the Bay Area and plan on attending the Con, be sure to double check what times David will be there for autographs, as con schedules sometimes change!

I enjoyed David's early work in the original 1958 'The Fly' film, and also in one of my favorite TV series when I was a kid, "Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea' from 1964 - 1968!   Matter of fact, David's photo graced the front of seven of the sixteen covers in the comic book series from Gold Key Comics that was published from December 1964 to April 1970! See above right photo of this blog post for issue #5.

David went on to perform in a Soap Opera 'Another World' for five years, and in a great performance as Felix Leiter in the James Bond Film 'Licence To Kill' among other projects during his career.

For those that can't make it to David's table at the WonderCon, check out more about him at his official web site:
