TODAY'S FEATURE - Blog #3513: Back on July 1st of this year, I posted one of my 'Spotlight on...' blogs on a person I met briefly at the 2010 San Diego Comic Con. Her name is Barbara Marker, and she has been involved in comics & fantasy artwork since the 1980s. Before that period of time I had met her husband, Paul Tallerday at a different locale, and until earlier this year, did not realize that they were a married couple. Since then I've helped them start a Facebook Fan Page for BarbaraMarkerArtist.com and have been posting publicity items about Barbara's current works and appearances. I also videotaped Barbara at the most recent 2011 San Diego Comic Con International, (as seen here at my YouTube channel), and helped them set up a Facebook event page for this One Woman Art Show that is being held in the San Diego Metro Area. The Art Show has already started, but the Reception isn't until Saturday, October 15th. Here's the details: The Art is on display for you to view in person between September 8, 2011 through December 23, 2011. The regular Library hours are: Tuesday & Wednesday12:30 to 8:00. Thursday & Friday 9:30 to 5:30. Saturday 9:30 to 2:30. Closed Sunday and Monday. I will be posting several of the photos I took at the special photo album at my Facebook Fan Page titled: 'Barbara Marker Artist - A One Woman Art Show of Fantasy Art'. The RECEPTION is: October 15, 2011 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm - Where you can meet Barbara Marker in person! WHERE? At the San Diego Public Library, Tierrasanta Branch 4985 La Cuenta Drive San Diego, CA 92124 I believe that is about all the info that you would need to stop by and view the artwork on display at the Public Library, and / or attend the Reception. Should you have any questions, feel free to ask Barbara via the event page, or the fan page links provided above. Tina and I are looking forward to attending the Reception on Saturday, October 15th, when Barbara and Paul will be bringing several of the original art pieces that the prints were duplicated from to display at that time.. See you there?! ~Michael D Hamersky On Comics
