I have previously blogged about other artists that have also submitted sketch cards for the same worthy cause, and just came across this one among the four sketch cards that Herb Trimpe has donated for the cause! I had missed his entries earlier, as there are One Thousand listings for bidders to choose from. That is a Great turnout from the comics industry! Thus Herb Trimpe now joins my earlier blog posts on this Auction Event with his set of four cards including Wolverine, the Incredible Hulk, the Amazing Spider-Man, and even Doctor Doom! Just click here to see all four of Herb's sketch cards on auction! So that would make four artists that I have blogged about that have contributed to this cause... Harold Cupec's 4 sketch cards from his 'Pugnuggle Tales' which you can see by Clicking Here, Daniel Miki's two set of collage sketch cards and Greg Harms set of four 'Twilight' sketch cards! Here are the details for the benefit from the 'Comics For Cures' web site as this blog post is published: Blue Line Art has been organizing their second annual exhibition and auction of original sketch card art to benefit the American Cancer Society. Their first event in March of 2008 showcased 200 artist with over 1200 sketch cards. They raised over $7,400 for the American Cancer Society and are hoping that this current event will be bigger and better in raising funds. There will be a public exhibition at Comics 2 Games, Florence, Ky location on April 4th 2009. The auction of all the original art cards will go online starting the week before the Sketch Card exhibition and will end that evening. All proceeds from the sale of the cards will go to the American Cancer Society. Bob and Mike Hickey, founders and owners of Blue Line Art, are organizing this fundraiser in honor of Bob’s wife Katie, a breast cancer survivor. Blue Line publishes Sketch Magazine and Graphic Novel Scene and sells Blue Line Art boards to both comic book companies and individual artists. The Hickey family has long been aware of the generosity of the comic book community. All involved are looking forward to another successful event that celebrates the diversity of comic book artists’ unique talents and their heroic spirit of helping those in need! There are a thousand total listings of other sketch cards in this special event to raise funds; please check out the following link to take you to the eBay page where all of those auction listings are listed until the end of the auction time: Click Here! The listings start to end on this upcoming Saturday night, April 4th, 2009! (Note: Make It So Marketing is NOT affialiated with Comics For Cures, nor any of the sponsors of the benefit auction. This is for review / mention purposes only, and to hi-light several artists' contributions to the fund raiser.) Note: If any other contributors for this special benefit see this blog post, you are welcome to contact me for possible inclusion on a follow up post before the auction listings end on April 4th! That's only a little over 4 days away at the time of this blog posting... So don't delay looking and placing your bid on these items! For those of you that are new to our blog today, we have an ongoing online 'Comic Con and Pop Culture Convention' here at "Make It So Marketing Inc.", what with our daily blog posts, and new listings of items for sale in our own online eBay Featured Store! Thanks again to all of YOU reading our current and archived blog posts! ~ Michael

I 'joined' Anthony D Lee's... Facebook Comic Con Artist's Table during the Gala Premiere of that virtual con. At the same time I signed up for a 'Free Sketch' to be drawn by Anthony as he was promoting his table at the new con. Of course my first choice would be 'The Thing', one of the members of the Fantastic Four from Marvel Comics, if Anthony was willing to draw the character! Note: Because of the Thing's 'rocky' body, it takes additional time to draw. Well... he was, and the above sketch is one I wanted to share with everyone here on my Blog! I am going to prize this as much as when I had Joe Sinnott sign my issue of Fantastic Four #95 with a full page panel of the Thing holding up a building on his back! Why did I have Joe sign that issue? Well, he once said at a panel I was atttending, that the full page panel on page 8 of that issue was his favorite inking job on the Thing over Jack Kirby's pencils! Actually, the sketch that Anthony drew for me is just one of fiveteen sketches he has drawn so far for FBCC attendees that signed up at his table! To see all the great sketches he has illustrated so far, including Spy Smasher, the Scarlet Witch, Green Lantern, Dawnstar, and others... check out his table at: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=48365333090&ref=ts You would have to be a Facebook member to see them though... but it would be worth joing FB and Anthony's FBCC Table to get a great sketch emailed to you! Thanks again to all of YOU reading our current and archived blog posts! Note: If you work in the comic book industry or other pop culture productions, you are welcome to email us press releases, news items, and updates that you feel would be of interest to our blog readers. In an earlier blog Post I mentioned that... Bret M Herholz would be appearing at this comic con this upcoming weekend. Well, I had a few other Facebook Friends contact me that they too would be attending and exhibiting their creations at the same convention! So I want to also 'hi-lite' Andrew LoVuolo's appearance at the con in my Blog today, and let you know what he is exhibiting at his table there! Andrew will be on hand with all 5 issues of 'The Rift', PLUS he will be signing with his current artist Enrique Savory Jr AND Comic book legend, Paul Gulacy! So when you are at the Con... Be sure to stop by his table to get all of the books or at least The Rift #4 featuring the cover by Paul Gulacy and Jimmy Palmiotti that is pictured at the top left of this blog post! BTW, as an added note... the interior artwork in this issue was the second printed work of the current artist and editor of GI JOE for IDW, Robert Atkins! BTW, Andrew LoVuolo is just one of several other creators that will be at this Comic Con to make stopping in worth your while! Just to name a few: Dick Ayers (One of my favorite Jack Kirby inkers!), Paul Gulacy, Mike Lilly, Bob and Kim Shaw, Matt Ryan, Dave Simons, Hector E Rodriguez, Bret M Herholz, Enrique Savory Jr, Daniel William Barlow and even more! Here are the particulars for this upcoming comic con which you can also find out more by visiting the con's web site at: Saturday and Sunday April 4-5 2009| 10am-5pm | Back Bay Events Center | 180 Berkeley Street, Boston, MA | $10 (Please Note: A complimentary item for this mention was NOT provided by the creator nor the comic con!) For those of you that are new to our blog today, we also have an ongoing online 'Comic Con and Pop Culture Convention' here at "Make It So Marketing Inc.", what with our daily blog posts, and new listings of items for sale in our online eBay Featured Store! Thanks again to all of YOU reading our current and archived blog posts!~ Michael
