ANOTHER Positive Feedback On The 24 TV Show Card Game!
Mood:  a-ok
Topic: TV Shows

We Have Another Happy Buyer Who Received Their

Jack Bauer  / “24TV Show Card Game!

Just had another +FB from a buyer who received their  Jack Bauer  24 Card Game!

Their +FB comment was: "Game is just as described! Well packed and fast shipping. Professional service".

Well, we are happy to 'Make It So' for this  “24 fan who can at least play the card game until the 2009 Season finally arrives!

'24' was one of the major casualties of the recent writers’ strike.  Like most fans, I could hardly wait until January for a new day.  But the strike knocked the new season of the wildly popular show to January 2009!  Yikes – what’s a citizen to do?

You can play the 24 Card Game like our buyer will be doing!

Yes, you too can be a CTU agent hot on the trail of a ruthless terrorist!  Or, you might even BE the terrorist – it’s all in the luck of the draw in this exciting game.  It feels just like the show – as the CTU agent you collect and use “Technology” cards like “Gear,” “Science,” and “Intel” to defeat the terrorist.  You’ll feel like you’re Chloe, or Bill Buchanan.

Ironically, the card game is “Made in China.”  I wonder how Jack Bauer  feels about that!

We have an ongoing Comic Con and Pop Culture Convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

Thanks for reading our Pop Culture  - comics - comic book blog post today and join us again!

A Few Well Protected Examples!

Earlier today I blogged about a comic book that had been found in an old shed and was now being listed on eBay at 99 cents opening bid.

It was THE Key Issue of the Incredible Hulk  #1 from 1962 by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby!

It was NOT properly bagged, boarded and stored for all those many years, thus the Poor grade it would be given.

However, there are several comics, matter of fact over 1,000,000 comics now, that have been encapsulated by CGC after being graded.

Those graded/certified/ encapsulated comics come in sealed plastic holders to keep the certification and to help protect the comics from any additional wear.

We are a CGC Authorized Dealer, and currently have the below CGC'd comics in our eBay Featured Store for sale:

Even HE Couldn't Keep Them Away....

Talking About The Incredible Hulk  Versus the Mice And Bugs!

With Marvel Comics' popular film Iron Man being a big success and The Incredible Hulk movie which opens on June 13th, a lot of interest is building in comics books right now!

There are a lot of listings of both of these Marvel Comics characters hitting the eBay listings!

However there is one that has piqued my own personal interest, as it first came up in an eBay board discussion, then another and another!

The eBayer found there was a lot of interest in the comic book that his uncle had owned as a teenager.

Unfortunately, the uncle didn't store the comic book properly, and just placed it in the shed and forgot about it.

The nephew was cleaning out the shed recently and found the comic book, (pictured at the top right), and showed it via the discussion boards as what an expensive meal it was for the mice and bugs!

The comic, had it been properly bagged, boarded and stored, would be worth approximately $26,000.00 today.

However in this grade (Poor!), he decided to let it start at 99 cents and see who would want such a classic example of a poorly kept Incredible Hulk #1 issue by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby!

For those of you into HoRRoR Stories, you can look at EVERY One of the 36 pages of this comic book in the eBayer's photobucket.

This comic book is NOT collectible, but at today's prices, even a filler copy like this KEY issue will have some value.

Again folks, BAG, BOARD AND STORE your comics properly!  If not you, then someone else will enjoy the comics that you protect for generations to come!

End of Soapbox!

We have an ongoing Comic Con  and pop culture convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

Thanks for reading Tina's post today and please join us again for more!

It's True! Even the Incredible Hulk can't keep away mice and bugs if he's not bagged, boarded and store away properly!  To see this issue that is currently listed for sale copy and paste this item # 180249382844 into your brower! As of this post's publishing time it had started at 99 cents and was up to $7.50 bid and $2.00 shipping. The listing ends June 8th, 2008!

Mini-Mates To The Rescue!
Mood:  d'oh
Topic: Comic Book History

It's

 Mini-Mates

 To The Rescue!

Sometimes there are new products that come out that deserve just a little bit more attention, so I'll sit down and blog about 'em!

This upcoming set of Mini-Mates is one of them, IMHO.

These are so darn cute that I wouldn't mind having a set of them on my home office desk!

These are the Marvel Comics MiniMates Avengers #1 Box Set of 4 from Art Asylum. This set features the all-star founders of the Avengers as they first appeared in Avengers #1 back in 1963!

This Mini Mates box set contains the Golden Armored Iron Man, Ant-Man, the Wasp and the Incredible Hulk in true Jack Kirby style.

Plus,  included in the set are bonus pieces to create alternate looks for the Wasp (of course!), and transform the Ant-Man into Giant Man!

These are sculpted and designed by the folks at Art Asylum, and look like one of the Minimates releases that absolutely cannot be missed for True Believers!

So put it on your 'To Buy Later List', as this set is due to ship by late October of 2008!

We have an ongoing Comic Con  and Pop Culture convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

Woo-Hoo!  Or is it 'Avengers Assemble' in this case? However the saying goes... this Mini Mates Box Set brings back great memoreies of the early 1963 Marvel Comics Mighty Avengers Series by Jack Kirby to me!

Venom and Carnage - What a Nightmare!
Mood:  d'oh
Topic: Comic Book History

Venom and Carnage

 What a Nightmare!

I've been listing a bunch of Amazing Spider-Man comics that feature Venom and Carnage - what a nightmare!

If you've been reading our blogs you know that my husband, Michael, grew up with Marvel Comics in the '60s.

I'm the newcomer.  So, he had to explain to me that Carnage is actually Venom's not-so-adorable 'offspring'.

(Technically Carnage is the combination of a symbiote spawned from the original Venom symbiote and the serial killer, and former cell mate of Eddie Brock, Cletus Kasady.)

Who came up with that?  That's someone I never want to be trapped in an elevator with.

So, I'm listing Amazing Spider-Man issue #346 and I'm waiting for the picture to upload.  I'm staring at the cover trying to figure out what it is.  I guess I was staring a little too closely because it took me a while to realize it was Venom's disgusting face and that red thing is his disgusting tongue!  Oh gross - I'm gonna have nightmares now for sure.

After listing these comics, I now understand the disappointment of some Spidey fans in Venom's depiction in Spider-Man III.  I first heard about this from a clerk in our local Blockbuster.  She gave the movie a thumbs down soley because of her disappointment with Venom - he just wasn't intense enough for her.  At the time, I really wondered what she'd expected - now I know better! But I can understand why Rami sanitized Venom for the movie going masses.

A personal aside:  Since Spidey-3, whenever Michael comes back from Blockbuster, I ask if he saw our favorite clerk , "Venom Girl." Since then he's actually told her I refer to her by that name - and she likes it! It's a whole new generation of comic book fans!  I'm sure they'll enjoy these Amazing Spider-Man featuring Venom and Carnage.
