Steve Carrell Gets Smart!
After the debacle of Evan Almighty, Steve Carell looks like he's hitting in his sweet spot as Maxwell Smart in Get Smart. If you're a fan of The Office, you know that no comedic actor is more dead-on at deadpan delivery than Steve Carell. He routinely has audiences delightedly yelling "Oh no!" at their tv screens. Yes, the writing is what makes The Office great, but without Carrell's relentless delivery, the show would not work. There hasn't been such a "cringe-worthy" character on the small screen since Seinfeld's George Costanza. Let's just hope that the Get Smart writers give Carell what he needs - we know he can deliver. If the trailers are any indication, Get Smart which opens nationwide on June 20 is going to be a fun trip back to yesteryear.
