It's A Red Light... Green Light... Glass!

It's A

Red Light... Green Light...

Glass!

(Engineer Bill Collectibles!)

Back on April 27th 2008 I blogged about 'Engineer Bill' and what fun I had watching his show.

Early this morning I received an email from a reader of that archived blog post, who has one of the rare 'Red Light - Green Light Glasses' on auction right now till July 3rd 2008!

Andy aka eBayer android007 has listed a glass on item listing number 230265881971 that is scheduled to end July 3rd 2008 18:42:33 PDT unless he takes a BIN offer before that!

Below is a repost of the blog that Andy found us at:

"One of the earliest things I can remember from my childhood was when my dad, who was in the Navy, was stationed in Long Beach.

It was during that time that Engineer Bill (Stulla) hosted a kid's TV show on KHJ Channel 9 in Los Angeles.

He was a favorite TV show host during the 1950's and 1960's.

His show was broadcast on every week day about when school had been out for a while, with enough time to get home to watch his show.

What really stuck out in my memory was his 'Red Light - Green Light' portion of the show, where my brother and I would drink, stop, drink, and so on when he would say 'green light' for us kids to drink the milk out of the glass, and 'red light' to stop drinking!

Some of the things that stick in your mind don't always make sense years later, but it was here that I found that drinking and eating what's good for you was fun!

By the way, other local televised kid's shows of Los Angeles during that time were Sheriff John, Chucko the Clown, and Bozo the Clown.

I don't remember many 'National' shows that I watched during that time but one for sure was Captain Kangaroo seen in black and white format.

I was recently emailed asking if we had any more Engineer Bill collectibles for sale, from a reader who saw my previous blog post on Engineer Bill. We don't, and I noticed there is a dearth of them on eBay! So anyone out there with some to possible list, let us know and we'll blog about for you!"

The above offer still stands, and we'll do the same for you that we are doing here today for Andy and his listing 230265881971 that is scheduled to end July 3rd 2008 18:42:33 PDT!

For those of you new to us, we have an ongoing pop culture - comics convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post and please visit our blog again!

Jericho TV Show Renewal Campaign Still Going...

Jericho TV Show Renewal Campaign Still Going...!

Yesterday I blogged about the new Season 2 DVD set of the Jericho TV Show, both here and in our non-eBay Blog.

We had a comment added on last night on the other non-eBay blog post, from Gwen at Jericho-Kansas.com that I wanted to share here for more publicity on the effort that is still going to save this show.

Here is Gwen's comment:

"The fight to save Jericho is not over!

The fans have already put ads in The Hollywood Reporter and Variety, a billboard in Los Angeles, and are now airing TV ads in the Los Angeles area.

CBS Paramount is in talks with other parties to continue Jericho and they want to hear from the Jericho fans.

Please write to: Ms. Nancy Tellem, President, CBS Paramount Network Television Entertainment Group, 4024 Radford Avenue, Studio City, CA 91604-2190."

For more information on how to help Save Jericho you can go to her website, and check out the community page. With eBay's upcoming new rules about 'hot links', we can't publish the actual web page here...

We have an ongoing Comic Con  and pop culture convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

Thanks for reading this post today and please join us again for more!

Jericho TV Show Season 2 Now On DVD

Jericho TV Show

Season 2 Now On DVD!

I am pleased that this DVD set was rushed to publication so quickly!

Especially after the messed up TV Season we had this past year!

'Jericho' was one of the TV Shows that we watched religiously and also blogged about the first season it was on.

Perhaps it was because my own personal family started out in Kansas... perhaps it was because of the theme of the show.

Tina and I watched both special programs at the San Diego Comic Con International (SDCC) each year of the show and came away with a good feeling each time.

If you were a casual viewer of the show, than the DVD set(s) is the way to go to fully understand what was going on.

It wasn't as complicated as 'Heroes' or 'Lost', but with what happened when it was cancelled, then brought back, and then shortened due to the WGA Strike, made watching this series a little tougher than most.

I would say that the TV Show will be missed.... but with the two DVD Sets it will live on in our memories....

We have an ongoing Comic Con  and pop culture convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

Thanks for reading this post today and please join us again for more!

Did You Get ALL of the Newspaper Insert Comics?

Did You Get ALL of the Newspaper Insert Comics?

 Talking About The

 Spider-Man

Collectible Series!

During August 20th 2006 thru February 25th 2007, there were 24 issues of this popular newspaper comic book insert published.

Several months ago I was emailed about where could an 'Americana' collector pick up the rest of the Spider-Man Newspaper Comics that they had missed?

At that time we didn't have ours up for sale, so I referred them to the publisher of the comics for any back issues for sale they might have had left.

Even though the emailer wasn't a comic book collector, there was interest in the series because this short lived promo series was truly 'Americana'.

For those that weren't there at the beginning of this 'collectible series', it started by reprinting the Amazing Fantasy #15 comic book which introduced Spider-Man and was cover dated August of 1962. The series then reprinted Amazing Spider-Man #1 which was cover dated March 1963 and ended with issue #11 which was cover dated April of 1964! There are 24 volumes in this set.

We have now placed several of our own personal back issues for listing in our eBay Featured Store.

These promotional comics are included in our 'unlimited' shipping special (for raw unslabbed comics only) to buyers with USA addresses. Please see this Blog Post by clicking here for further details.

For those of you that are new to our blog, we have an ongoing comics and pop culture convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale! Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post and please come back again!

The Not-So-Happening

The Not-So-Happening!

M. Night Shyamalan's new movie, The Happening, is getting blasted by the critics. No surprise there.  I don't think they ever forgave him for the 'don't spoil the ending' Sixth Sense.

Myself - I'm too scared to see it - I got chills just watching the trailer before Iron Man.

The word of mouth I've heard has been pretty good.  Perhaps the disconnect is that the movie is not as downright scary or gory as some people, and certainly, some critics expected.  From what I've heard, it's more tense and builds to a scary scene or two.

So if you're looking to get the crap scared out of you - forget The Happening and check out these classic Horror comics. When Michael and I are on buying outings, I'm in charge of quality control.  So, I have to study the covers looking for any defects.  Let me tell you, I always get a little freaked out staring at these covers.  I just know I'm going to have nightmares!

If you're looking for a nightmare, we've got the makings right here!  (Click Here For HoRRoR Comics!)

Remember, we'll ship as many of these (raw, unslabbed) comic books to you (U.S. addresses only) for only $4.99.
