Finally.... Red Sonja Is Coming!
Well it will be a wait... as it isn't scheduled to be released until 2010, but at least it is on track finally! The big news this weekend was that Rose McGowan has finally found a script that she like enough to bring to director Robert Rodriguez! Robert was a co-director of 'Grindhouse' and also of 'Planet Terror'. Rose was the Planet Terror zombie slayer and is Robert's real-life leading lady. Red Sonja (Sonya) was a creation of REH, (Robert E Howard), and was brought to Marvel Comics in the Bronze Age of Comic Books! Red Sonja was brought to the Big Screen back in 1985 by Brigitte Nielsen. Since then there have been a few false starts, but it looks like 2010 will see the debut of the new Red Sonja! We have noticed a resurgence of Conan the Barbarian Comics from Marvel Comics that featured Red Sonja, so there have been several speculators out there already grabbing copies of her appearances while they are less expensive! Additionally Red Sonja had three series of her own from Marvel and has had a recent Dynamite Comics series. I for one will be looking forward to this upcoming film!
