Spider-Man Newspaper Comic Inserts Are 'Americana'!

I was emailed yesterday about where could an 'Americana' collector could pick up the rest of the recent Spidey Nespaper Comics, or if we would have any back issues for sale.

Even though they weren't comic book collectors, there was interest in the series because this short lived promo series was truly 'Americana'.

The collector had seen our earlier March 3rd, 2007 blog post where we mentioned that the marketing company would no longer be inserting the comics into the Sunday papers.

Per the back cover of the last issue #24, that was the last chance to order the series!

The full 24 issue set at that time would run you $39.95 plus $7.95 for shipping and handling, for a total of $47.90.

If you just missed a few in the 24 volume series, then the marketing company would sell you ten individually checked off issues for $19.95 plus $7.95 for shipping and handling for a total of $27.90.

For those that weren't there at the beginning of this collectible series, it reprinted the Amazing Fantasy #15 comic book which introduced Spider-Man and was cover dated August of 1962, then reprinted Amazing Spider-Man #1 which was cover dated March 1963 and ended with  issue #11 which was cover dated April of 1964 !

When we come back from our holiday week, we will be pulling out several of our back issues for listing in our eBay Featured Store. Not for sure of the pricing at this time...

Until then, if you are looking for these, I would suggest contacting the marketing company that had these 'American' items printed for distribution.

At this time it would be too late for most items to be shipped in time for Christmas presents, but you could also check other eBay sellers.

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post!

Wonder if this will get back to his publishers in NYC that he was hanging out with the 'Direct Competion' at the San Diego Comic Con International in 2007?!

Who Likes To Hang Out With Superheroines

Because He Knows He Is Not As Popular As...

Wonder Woman !

Which Is Why He Likes To Be Nearby When She Is Getting Her Picture Taken!

Well.... what other reason would a Marvel Comics Superhero be doing associating with a DC Comics Superheroine at the San Diego Comic Con International 2007!

Wonder Woman hasn't had a movie or TV show in years, and he just had one go straight to DVD this past summer!

But still most of the 'mainstream' public wouldn't have a clue as to who he is!

So it's good that he is hanging out with other superheroes! Maybe his 'Q' factor will go up!    Thanks for reading our pop culture - comics - comic book blog post!

She's Dressed Up At The Convention As...

Wonder Woman !

As mentioned previously in this blog, one of the fun things to do at pop culture or comic book conventions is to either dress up like your favorite comic book character or TV Show / Movie Star...

Well, the New York Comic Con 2007 attendee to the top left did just that when she came as the blonde Cathy Lee Crosby TV Film version of Wonder Woman. However She wore Lynda Carter's WW costume version!

That's right!  This is NOT a blog post with a pic of Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman!  What is the blog world coming to when I don't post a pic of my fave Lynda ??!!

It is great that more and more fans are coming to the cons dressed up, and not just for the masquerades shows!

We'll be sure to catch more pics this upcoming convention season to post here!    Thanks for reading our pop culture - comics - comic book blog post!
