Guide to Business Gift-Giving

by Tina LoSasso

Anyone braving the shopping malls during the holiday season knows that finding the perfect gift for family or friends is not easy.

Business gift-giving can be even more challenging. Choosing the right business gift requires more time and thoughtfulness. How do you go about selecting exactly the right gift for that important client?  Here is another of time-honored rules of thumb from the new sales advice book, Top Dog Sales Secrets.

• Think New Year’s.

If you run out of time to plan or shop for the holidays, get the cards in the mail and send an appropriate New Year’s gift.

Think pens, desk clocks, or paperweights, packaged with noisemakers and streamers.

Timing your gift to arrive right before New Year’s is a great way to stand apart from everyone else.

The above is from Tina's new book that is titled: 'Top Dog Sales Secrets' and we now have a few more copies listed for sale in our eBay Featured Store!

We've made it easy for you eBayers to buy this newly published book. Just click on the book cover at the top left to buy a copy with the 'Buy It Now' feature!

The Rolling Stones...

TV and Movie Comics Listed Here!  Rock Comics Listed Here!
Were 'Covered' By
The Next Great American Band!
If You Missed LastWeek's Episode
Here Is 'Our Take' On
'The Next Great American Band'
TV Show on the Fox Network!
The 11-23-07 Episode

For those of you that missed this 11-23-07 show... The episode stayed with the new 1 hour format.
Each band called to perform did a cover of a song by the 'Richards and Jagger' song writing team. That's two of the 'Rolling Stones' band members! There were no original songs by the bands tonight as was the case in most of the earlier shows.

This blog post is similar to our format on 'Our Take' Of American Idol Performance Shows that we do when AI is in season.

The following is 'Our Take' on the Night's Performances in Numerical Grading.  You can see by the 'spread' that there is a difference of opinion between us on several of  the performances:
Our Numerical Grading Of
The 11-23-07 Episode
Band #Name Of Band/ Song PerformedMichael's TakeSpread vs.Tina's Take
1Tres Bien/ Get Off My Cloud  7.51.56.0
2

Denver & Mile High Orch/ I'm Free

3

Six Wire/ The Last Time

8.251.257.0
4Light Of Doom/ Jumpin' Jack Flash7.02.05.0
5The Clark Brothers/ Gimme Shelter 9.50.510.0
6Dot Dot Dot/ Let's Spend the Night Together9.00.09.0

For those that missed our previous blog posts on this TV Show:

Due to space limitations, the following are just a few notes from this nite:

Personally I expected a LOT more from Tres Bien, this night was right in their groove with their retro rock sound. They did NOT come through for me.
Six Wire did much better than expected.
The Clark Brothers were FANTASTIC!!  Both Tina and I were so close in liking this performance!
Dot Dot Dot certainly surprised both of us, and we both gave them the second highest marks of the night!
Next week:  The Band with the lowest vote count won't play next week.... So No 'Results Show' like American Idol.
Next week the performances are covers on Rod Stewart Songs!

Glad something is finally on Friday Nights for us!

For those that are wondering what the 'tie-in' is for us... we have Rock Comic Books and Magazines for sale in our eBay Featured Store!

Above is the 1ST APPEARANCE Of The Warlord from the Comic Book Series that I am blogging about this post!  For all of our Sword & Sorcery / Sci-Fi comic book listings, just click on the cover above!

Almost Sounds Like A Video Game!

But It's Not!

It was a Sword and Sorcery Comic Book feature created by Mike Grell back in 1975!

The Warlord's first appearance was in a DC Comics Book titled '1st Issue Special', in issue #8!

The 1st app of any popular character is always a 'must' for a collector, and we wanted to let you know that our copy of this first appearance is listed in our eBay Featured Store!

Warlord went on to star in his own series for DC Comics in answer to Marvel Comics' success with Conan the Barbarian!

Warlord lasted for 133 regular issues and 6 annuals! That was a long run for this DC title, (1976-89) !

For those interested in Sword and Sorcery or SCI-FI comics, we have several hundred of that comic book genre in our eBay Featured Store !

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post!

How do you go about selecting exactly the right gift for that important client?  Here is another of time-honored rules of thumb from the new sales advice book, Top Dog Sales Secrets.

• Everyone gets a card.

All clients, large and small, should receive a holiday card.

Avoid religious themes (stick to “Happy Holidays” or “Season’s Greeting”), and again, no advertising.

You’d be surprised how many people can’t resist putting their business tagline or logo on a greeting card!
