Jane Russell's Dress In Son Of Paleface

Is On Exhibit At the

Autry Center In Los Angeles

For those that don't remember Jane in this dress, it could be because she was usually wearing her Black Cowgirl outfit most of the scenes in this movie. After all, she was one of the 'bad guys'!

The 'case' this dress is displayed in is not part of the special Gene Autry exhibition at the Autry National Center that is being shown
between now and January 13, 2008.

The 'case' is in a top floor gallery of the Museum that has a few 'cases' of TV Westerns and Movie memorabilia on regular display.

This is normally the only gallery room that the 'myth' of the Old West is shown at the museum along with the 'reality' featured in the other galleries!

For those visiting the Los Angeles metro area up to January 13th, 2008 this would be one of the better attractions in that area for Western fans.

The Centennial Exhibition on Gene Autry will be running thru that date, with certain days closed for the holidays of course.

Tina, my uncle and I just saw this exhibition on Saturday November 3rd for the first time, and recommend the Gene Autry Exhibition at the Autry National Center for Old West fans.

You can learn more about the hours and the admission prices at the web site autrynationalcenter.org.

Personally, my interest in the museum is in the 'myth' of the Old West. So I made sure we saw this gallery on this trip!

As you can tell by the comics we have in the eBay Featured Store, I am a Wild Wild West TV Westerns and Western Comics Fan.

'Last Day In Vietnam'

A Graphic Novel by Will Eisner

This Graphic Novel was written and drawn by the writer/artist that was there in the 'Nam, Will Eisner.

Will is the father of the graphic novel, and does a good job in telling several stories in this softcover edition of his graphic novel.

Unlike the Spirit stories that he is also known for, each of the  stories in this Graphic Novel is easy to read and understand without any continuity baggage.

The well-defined graphics help illustrate the story even more and make you feel that you were actually there with the characters.

Definitely this was the format for Will to tell these stories of Vietnam.

Recommended reading for those wanting to read about this time in history.

Just click on the Graphic Novel cover on the top right to see what war comics & graphic novels issues we currently have in stock!

Roy Rogers and Dale Evans Costumes

Are On Exhibit At the

Autry Center In Los Angeles

One of my favorite Singing Cowboys is Roy Rogers! He was also my mom's favorite while her sister's favorite was Gene Autry! I have viewed many of Roy's movies and really enjoyed the one that co-starred in with Jane Russell and Bob Hope, 'Son of Paleface'!

The 'case' these costumes are displayed in is not part of the special Gene Autry exhibition at the Autry National Center that is being shown

 Desperate Housewives

Shut Down Due To The Writers' Strike!

The current season's filming on the set of Desperate Housewives has been shut down due to the WGA's strike!

Earlier today I had a lunch break and watched Headline News and saw Eva Longoria bemoan the fact that her hairdresser and others that work for her won't have a job now that this show has stopped filming more shows due to the Strike!

Not being funny... but there will be a lot of people out of work if this Strike goes on...

Yet we keep seeing more and more 'stars' feeding the picket lines than ever before to show their support!

Stay 'Tooned' for more news as this WGA Strike moves forward!

The Cisco Kid's And Pancho's Costumes

Are On Exhibit At the

Autry Center In Los Angeles

The TV Stars, Cisco Kid and Pancho, have their costumes on display here. I have blogged about seeing Leo Carillo's (Pancho) Ranch in Carlsbad before which is near our home.

This Cisco Kid and Pancho 'case' is not part of the special Gene Autry exhibition at the Autry National Center that is being shown
between now and January 13, 2008.
