'Our Take'

On The 11-19-07 Episode Of Chuck

Spoiler Warning: Don't Read Below If YOU Don't Want To know What Happened!

Chuck started off the episode with saying that 'the emotional rollercoaster is over' for him with Sarah.

So Sarah does a scene for the 'public' where she cries as Chuck 'dumps' her...

Chuck then dates Lou, the sandwich store owner.

However he see an invitation card on her store wall and 'flashes' on it.

Turns out Lou's ex-boyfriend is involved with international espionage, or at least his father is!

This episode get a little too far fetched... and appears to be a little contrived.

Additionally, in an earlier blog I mentioned how this could be a good family program.

Well the path the show has taken is taking it away from the PG rating I would have given it in the earlier episodes.

Now all that is talked about this episode is sex, or lack of it... and even though it doesn't show any as it does come on at 8 PM, I am withdrawing my earlier recommendation as a family show.

I still like the show, and Tina enjoys watching it also, just the show is 'skewing' to an older audience now.

Also, the 'Love Triangle' appears to be temporarily shelved between Sarah/Chuck/Lou, but a new one is started at the end of this episode!

Why?  And with who? Well... Tina and I guessed it, as the 'bomb' turned out not be to be a bomb but instead was a ......

Well, you'll have to view this episode to find out the new 'triangle'!

Journeyman

'Our Take' On The

11-19-07 Episode

Journeyman is a New NBC Show that airs on Monday Nights at 10 PM, After 'Heroes'.

Tina and I already blogged our thoughts about the Pilot Episode ...  click here to see !

SPOILER WARNING! Don't read the following if you don't want to know what happened this episode!

The last episode had a 'Big Reveal' that wasn't continued this episode....

Again the continuity of the show seems to be a little out of sync in the last couple of epsiodes.

This time Dan Vasser is jogging and flashes to a dance club in the 1980's?

Livia is already there and dancing!

Dan finds a young girl who has been kept a prisoner on the premises. She had disappeared, and with rescuing her, Dan changes the past.

Dan saves her, but can't help his own son, who is having trouble coping with seeing his father flash/disappear in a previous episode.

Katie Vasser, Dan's wife, is also having trouble this episode coping with Dan's coming and going to the past. About time she shows her emotions!

However this episode Dan changes the past and finally affects his own future!

The episode ends as the first of a two parter, where the perp of this episode comes to Dan's house to wreak some kind of vengeance in the next episode!

Catherine Bach Of Dukes Of Hazard Will Be Autographing On December 22nd!

Recently I have been seeing more and more autographed photos, comics, books etc...

Additionally I have seen comments about the prices charged by sellers on those items.

So I thought I would publish the autograph prices of an upcoming appearance by a
Star of a previous TV Show that is in re-runs and has had an 'updated' movie about it recently.

Catherine Bach of Dukes of Hazard TV Show fame will be autographing just before Christmas.

Her prices are listed at the bottom of the flyer shown at the top left.

Of interest to non-convention goers should be the fact that it would cost the convention goer $20 just to have their picture taken with the actress with their own camera, and NO autograph.

Also of interest... NO 'Shorts' Will be Signed! (?)

The times of getting autographs for free have been over for quite a while, as these actresses and actors are finding the convention circuits a way of making money as not all get residuals.

No negativity here, just to let our blog readers and possible autograph seekers the fact that most of the autographs signed today cost the con-goer $$ to get in the first place!

Marvelmania International Was The Club To Join !
Mood:  a-ok
Topic: Comic Book History

Marvel Superheroes

The above Marvelmania International Club Card is from my own personal collection when I joined back in 1970! True, it is a little worn, but I was really proud to be a card carrying member back in the early 1970's!

HoRRoR and MoNSTer Comics

The Above Picture is Showing What I Would Have Received If I Had Joined In 1969 When the Club Was First Announced with everything in Color!!

Marvel Super heroes Comics

The above items are what I received when I joined Marvelmania, everything was in black and white at that time.

MARVELMANIA INTERNATIONAL!

Couldn't resist posting the membership card to the MarvelMania International club pictured at the top left, as I was asked what comic clubs I had joined when I was younger.

Of Course I was a member of the M.M.M.S, but that didn't last too long.

Shortly afterwards the Marvel Bullpen Page announced a new club for Marvel Fans!

The MarvelMania Club started in 1969 and early members received kit #1 which had its' membership items in full color.

When I joined in 1970, kit #2 was mailed to me. For a whopping $1 bill I received:

  1. Club Merchandise Catalog #2
  2. Official Membership Certificate (Yellow)
  3. Official Membership Card (Yellow) see pic
  4. Sample Issue Of  Their Marvelmania Magazine
  5. Six Mini-Posters With Art By Jack Kirby
  6. Various Merchandise Flyers

Note: Marvelmania Magazine only lasted for six issues.  This was the second club based on Marvel Comics, however it was a business outside the direct control of the Marvel Comics publishing group, but like the earlier M.M.M.S. it didn't last long....

The membership kit included flyers to purchase additional items.  As I was just graduating high school and entering college, my  income was minimal. The few items I did buy from the club were resold at the SDCC during the following years.
