Buffalo Bill Jr.

Starring Dick Jones!

This TV Show aired from March 1, 1955 to Sept 21, 1956.

The show starred Dick Jones as a young Texas marshall who was trying to raise his kid sister, Calamity, played by Nancy Gilbert.

They both were under the watchful eye of their adoptive father, Judge Ben Wiley (Harry Cheshire).

Buffalo Bill Jr's Horse's name was 'Chief'!

This TV Western was aimed for a younger audience, unlike 'adult westerns' like Maverick, etc.

There were 52 black and white episodes that were produced by Gene Autry's Flying A Productions.

I don't really remember this TV Show, although ABC re-aired several episodes later in 1964 on their Saturday Morning Schedule.

Friday Night Time For Next Great American Band!
Mood:  a-ok
Topic: TV Shows

If You Missed LastWeek's Episode
Here Is 'Our Take' On
'The Next Great American Band'
TV Show on the Fox Network!
The 11-16-07 Episode

For those of you that missed this 11-16-07 show... The episode stayed with the new 1 hour format.
Each band called to perform did a cover of a song by the 'Leiber & Stoller' song writing team. That's Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller ! There were no original songs by the bands tonight as was the case in most of the earlier shows.

This blog post is similar to our format on 'Our Take' Of American Idol Performance Shows that we do when AI is in season.

The following is 'Our Take' on the Night's Performances in Numerical Grading.  You can see by the 'spread' that there is a difference of opinion between us on several of  the performances:
Our Numerical Grading Of

For those that missed our previous blog post on this TV Show:   HERE IS THE LINK For The 11-09-07 Episode!

Due to space limitations because of seven bands performing, the following are just a few notes from this nite:

When it got down to which of the final two bands would play for the night.... Tina thought for sure that 'Franklin Bridge' would play instead of 'Tres Bien'. Even 'Tres Bien' thought that in the 'Green Room'!
Instead it was 'Franklin Bridge' that wouldn't play and be out of the contest... Tina was dismayed but voiced that their type of audience probably wouldn't be watching this show on a Friday night and vote within the two hour voting period...
Sheila E who had predicted that 'Franklin Bridge' would make it to the end of the show was shocked that they were out.
Personally, I like the retro style of 'Tres Bien' better between the two of these bands...
Next week:  The Band with the lowest vote count won't play next week.... So No 'Results Show' like American Idol.
Next week the performances are covers on Mick Jagger & Keith Richards Songs!

Glad something is finally on Friday Nights for us! What's your thoughts on this show? Just post your comments below!

For those that are wondering what the 'tie-in' is for us... we have Rock Comic Books and Magazines for sale in our eBay Featured Store!

The above is a picture of Tina, Fess Parker (Mr Davy Crockett himself), and Michael during the 2003 Holiday Season.

For Michael this was the highlight of the 2003 Holiday Trip, meeting Mr. Parker at his hotel/restaurant and having a picture taken with him. We even received an invitation to come over for a social gathering later that week, but we were going back home!

Whom Am I Thankful For?

Part IV

Yesterday was the time of year that many Americans stopped, reflected and gave thanks...

I was no exception to this as Tina and I got ready to go to my folks for Thanksgiving Dinner.

I am thankful for many things during my life, which is why this is but Part IV, but one of the earliest things I can remember from my childhood was our black and white TV set where I saw several TV Shows including one of my folks' favorites, 'Walt Disney'.

I definitely can remember those early years of watching Fess Parker as 'Davy Crockett' and made sure I would re-watch them when they were repeated years later!

Tina and I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Fess Parker a few years ago at his Hotel/Restaurant in Los Olivos, California.

We had visited his Fess Parker Winery, his Hotel/Spa in Los Olivos, and had a great dinner in his restaurant while visiting 'Wine Country' in the Santa Inez Valley.

I appreciated finally meeting the man who had given me so many years of entertainment and was a good role model for me while growing up!

Colt .45

Starring Wayde Preston!

Was a TV Show Series that ran from 1957 to 1960 on ABC.

Wayde Preston guest starred on one of the highest rated episodes of the popular TV Western Show 'Maverick' and thus gained the attention of the producer William T Orr.

Wayde went on to star in the first season before having a falling out with the studio during the second season. He returned for the final episodes of the TV Show just before it was cancelled.

Wayde played 'Christopher Colt', an undercover government agent, who had the secret identity of a traveling (Colt) pistols salesman. Thus the 'double entendre' of Colt in the series.

My interest in this show is mainly because of the cool comic book photo covers that Dell Comics ran as a tie-in. For some reason this was a show I don't remember watching much...
