Americans are using cell phones and other wireless devices so much now, that AT&T has announced plans to disconnect its' pay phone business by the end of 2008! Since 1997, the nationwide 'pool' of pay phones has shrunk from 2.6 million to 1 million, and is no longer a true money maker for AT&T.
