TODAY'S FEATURE: This upcoming event kind of snuck up on me... Basically because at first I didn't see who was behind the event invite. That would be Jay Allen Sanford, whose name you could or should be familar with. I have already blogged about him, and his upcoming series being published by Bluewater Comics here: Upcoming Elvis Presley Experience Graphic Novel! What You may NOT have known about him is that he has been involved with a comic strip for many years that is published here in San Diego... So it is a pleasure to once more blog about Jay here and his upcoming event NEXT MONDAY / TUESDAY! "Start Overheard & Famous in San Diego: Comic Strip Art Show Start Time: Monday, March 29, 2010 at 6:45pm Rock 'N' Roll Comics cartoonist Jay Allen Sanford presents a selection of original artwork featuring his comic strips from the San Diego Reader - Overheard in San Diego and Famous Former Neighbors. Covering 15 years of weekly comics, the Art Gallery Opening on March 29th will include live artist demonstrations, as well as musical performances from Bart Mendoza, Wendy Bailey and True Stories, Collage Menage, and the Cathryn Beeks Ordeal performing their song "Overheard in San Diego." In addition, the winner will be announced for the Reader's Famous Former Neighbors Song Contest. March 29th, Ruby Room San Diego, 1721 University Avenue" And so that YOU can be interactive with Jay and others that are commenting on his event page, here is the link to that page: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=335274830948 My thanks to Jay Allen Sanford for sending me an 'invite' to attend this event via Facebook. At this point I don't know if we or even I are going... as next Tuesday is Tina's latest book launch event on Amazon, and she'll be burning the midnight oil on Monday night... more than likely. However, I wanted YOU to know as soon as possible, so I am informing YOU about it here in my blog today! AND...My thanks again to all of YOU reading this blog and our archived blog posts, now almost 3,100 total posts in number!! ~ Michael D Hamersky @ ComicBookCollectorsBlog.com
