Kooky 'Kook' The Pig

Wanted To Know....

If There Would Be Any Good Looking Men At The Convention In San Diego?!

We Told Her Yes, But....

They Show Up At The SDCC  Comic Con International In All Kinds Of Strange Garb!

Well.... she asked so we warned her!

Don't know if she wanted to flirt with men or maybe have a drink with 'em, but some men come dressed as a Spider(man), or a Hawk(man) or even as an Ant(man)!

She gave me a look of disgust at the thought of spiders and ants, and expressed some fear at a hawk!

And then again, I told her... some men come in inanimate form, like a 'Green Lantern'...!

So will Kooky 'Kook' the Pig will be on the lookout for men at the Con? Con-goers Beware!

We also have an ongoing Comic Con  and Pop Culture convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

Thanks for reading this post today and please join us again for more!

Kooky 'Kook' The Pig Arrives At Make It So Marketing!

Kooky 'Kook' The Pig at The Ranch....!

Ok... I admit it... I'm a softie....

Kook asked as we left the Post Office if there were any other places we were going before we went to Comic Con  at the San Diego Convention Center.

I said, yes, we were going to Make It So Marketing's home office where she could prepare for the upcoming Con by grading Comics and packing up for the Con!

Wellllll, after she looked at me with those beady black eyes,  I relented and told her of a special place that we could swing by on the way to the home office...

So we showed up at the Leo Carillo Ranch in Carlsbad!

Only problem was... it's closed on Mondays! Boo-Hoo!

So in the right column are photos of Kooky looking in at the Ranch and looking forlorn about it, not being able to get in....

Leo Carillo was a famous Hollywood Movie Star and TV Star. He had a ranch to get away from it all about 5 miles away from our home office. He also starred in The Cisco Kid Comic Books!

For those that don't know who Leo Carillo was.... CLICK HERE for Part 1 and CLICK HERE for Part 2 of the Leo Carillo Story so far!

For those of you that don't know Kooky 'Kook The Pig'....

Kooky has been at the following bloggers this summer:

Saenzmom
Jartistic1
Maggie
Sharty
Prince
and now she's
 at

make_it_so_marketing

in SoCal California!

Next she's going to

Bushell, Steveo, Prettythings and Blue !

Here at Make It So Marketing we also have an ongoing Comic Con  and Pop Culture convention, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

Thanks for reading this post today and please join us again for more adventures of Kooky 'Kook' the Pig while she's in SoCal with us!

Kooky 'Kook' The Pig arrived today at our PO Box here in Carlsbad, California! On the way to the home office she talked me into stopping at the Leo Carillo Ranch! Unfortunately Mondays the Ranch is closed! To show her displeasure she climbed into the Wagon Wheel Gate Spoke and wouldn't come out!

For all of our currently listed Western comics and Magazines listings just click on the photo above!

Kooky 'Kook' The Pig is shown at the left sitting on the call box, after trying to call her way into the Ranch.... To no avail...

Kooky then wedged herself into the Spoke of the Gate, and didn't want to come out.... and then found she couldn't come out!!  Have the other eBay Bloggers she's been staying with before arriving here with us 'fatten her up' ???!

Kooky was soooo excited to arrive here in North County San Diego that she popped out of her shipping box and was ready to spring from our PO Box just a short while ago!

Kooky first of all wanted to make sure that I shipped all of our packages out today, as she realizes the importance of DSRs!

Then she wanted to play at the APC, (Automated Postal Center), before leaving the Carlsbad Post Office!

She also wanted to make sure I brought her 'shipping box' which she called her bed... which was OK with me, as she'll have to be shipped out next week to bushell on the East Coast!

Which reminds me that Kooky has already been at the following eBay Bloggers:

Saenzmom
Jartistic1
Maggie
Sharty
Prince @ Mall Of America in MN,
and now she's at

make_it_so_marketing in Southern California!

Thanks for reading this post today and please join us again for more of Kooky's stay with us in the San Diego area... we'll be blogging up until the first day of the Con and then afterwards!

Getting Ready For A Transformation!
Mood:  a-ok
Topic: Comic Cons

Getting Ready For A

 Transformation!

That Would Be The San Diego Convention Center!

Yesterday morning Tina and I went past Downtown San Diego on the way to my folks to 'farm out' our bird as we did not want him to stay home by himself while we attended the upcoming Comic Con International.

As we were learned a few years ago, it is best to preview our travel route to the San Diego Convention Center a few days before the start of the Con as sometimes the route is being worked on by the street department which would cause us delays to getting there early to find underground parking before that is filled to capacity!

One of the worst things about the Comic Con, and there are very bad things about it, is that we are among the 125,000 other attendees that possibly need to find parking!

We've already checked to make sure the San Diego Padres DO NOT have a day game at the Ballpark next door, as a couple of years ago all the baseball fans had taken up all the parking in the immediate area for their ballgame!  It was NO fun lugging a 'long box' of comics to the far parking, even though it was a fantastic 'flip deal' we made that very first day!

We are sharing some photos just taken yesterday morning in this blog post in the right column.

The San Diego Convention Center has two 'wings' which still isn't enough room to get all the people that want to get in to the Comic Con! You can tell from the photos that it is a large 2 1/2 story building and runs Eastward a loooong ways!

There isn't enough parking at the SD Convention Center, but for out of townies the Comic Con shuttle bus works wonders by going to many major hotels surrounding the area.

Talking about room, the exhibit hall(s) feature 525,701 sq ft of room! It is almost like Disneyland in that you really can't see it all in one day anymore!

That square footage number does not take in the giant halls for programs or the other large rooms for smaller programs.

The San Diego Comic Con International convention is now the largest convention held at the SD Convention Center. That title used to be held by 'AA'!

As for the last photo on the right, Tina and I saw 'The Dark Knight' Film Friday, so this weekend I'm going around in different Batman T-Shirts as seen in the last photo!

BTW, we also have an ongoing Comic Con  and Pop Culture convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

Thanks for reading this post today and please join us again as we blog about the 2008 Comic Con before it starts and after we get back!

Looking Eastward from the start of the San Diego Convention Center. The very large banner at the top of the building for the 2008 Comic Con International was not yet in place as of yesterday, Saturday July 19th 2008!

This photo doesn't do it justice... but this is the far East end of the Convention Center. You can't see the far west start of the center, but it is a hike that Tina and I take multiple times during the  4 1/2 day Comic Con!

For the lucky few early birds that can make it there before it is closed off.... this is the underground parking structure at the Convention Center!

As you can tell, Michael just can't wait for the Comic Con to open!  This was shot at the Convention Center the night after the Batman Film, 'The Dark Knight' opened!
