Villains

Made It To The Preview Night!

At The SDCC Comic Con International 2008!

(Wednesday July 23rd, 2008)

Try as they might, the 2008 Comic Con  International Officials just can't keep the villains away from their 'Preview Night'!

But then again, they did keep the line moving for those early arrivals like us that came early to get an underground parking space!

One of the fun things to do while waiting to get into the con is to take photos of those attendees that arrive in costume.

Usually you'll see a lot more of them on the exhibit floor Thursday through Sunday, but the four pictured at the top right arrived early on Wednesday late afternoon / night!

They were very agreeable, (for villains!), and roamed through the top floors until opening time...

I'll be posting more photos, (I took 1,037 or 143.4 Mb), in our blog posts in the days to come, but I have to get back to invoicing, shipping, grading and listing to keep this business running!

We also have an ongoing Comic Con  and Pop Culture convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

Thanks for reading this post today and please join us again!

These are just four of the dastardly villains that crashed the 'Preview Night' of the 2008 Comic Con International! (Left to right: Harley Quinn, Two-Face, Poison Ivy, and the Scarecrow, all from DC Comics!)  Since I saw them several times during the 4 1/2 day convention, they easily broke through the long lines to get into everything

For all of our currently listed Comic Con promos, comics  and Magazines listings just click on the photo above! We will be listing more from 2008 in the days to come!

Welcome To Our World! No... Our Shipments AREN'T packed with Donuts by Fat Momma, we just use the USPS!

Note From Make It So Marketing:

Each comic / comics book. graphic novel or magazine in our eBay Featured Store is individually graded, inventoried, priced, bagged and boarded, before being listed for sale!
We attend several  Pop Culture conventions and Comic Cons during the year to replenish our inventory for resale!
If you don't see what you are looking for, feel free to email us a 'want list' and if in stock, we'll place it in our eBay Featured Store just for you!

Kooky 'Kook' The Pig Is Back From The Comic Con!

That's Right! She  Attended The SDCC  Comic Con International This Past Week With Us And Will Be Leaving Shortly To 'Take Manhattan' with the Next eBay Blogger on Kooky's Summer Vacation!

Kooky, Tina and Michael in line for 'Preview Night'!

Well... We're back from the Comic Con that started Wednesday afternoon July 23rd with a 'Preview Night' in San Diego California!

Kooky 'Kook' the eBay Blog Pig, had a great time with us and will be sharing her experiences at this convention, the BIGGEST Comic Con in North America in several more blog posts to come!

(I had to catch up and acknowledge all the sales first thing today by sending eBay invoices, or payment acknowledgemnts, then posted +fb for all those leaving us +fb during our 'working vacation'.)

Now for a quick blog post, and then changing 'hats' and getting the sold items invoiced and wrapped for shipping either later today or tomorrow...

So sit back and just enjoy a few photos from the Comic Con during just the first few hours of 'Preview Day', before the official 'Preview Night' even opened!

For those of you interested in upcoming films and TV Show promotional items, we invite you to check back on our blog posts after Comic Con, when we'll be listing promotional items received at the programs and blogging about what we've seen there this year!

BTW, We also have an ongoing Comic Con  and Pop Culture convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

Thanks for reading this post today and please join us again for more... some of the posts will be about Kook / Kooky the eBay Blog Pig, but the majority will be of the programs and of course the costumed characters we encountered during all 5 days and nights of the Comic Con!

Michael (Tina and Kooky!)

Kooky 'Kook' The Pig wanted to know why we arrived so 'early' at the SDCC Comic Con International as we arrived there a little before 1:00 PM on Wednesday. After all, didn't Preview Night Run from 7-9 PM that night?

We had left at 12:00 Noon to make the trek down, only stopping to pick up a late lunch to consume while waiting in line. What Kooky didn't know, but soon was to find out, was that the underground parking structure would fill up hours before the Registration line even opened up!  I have made the mistake years ago about arriving too late, due to a SD Padres Baseball 'Day' Game going on at the same time across the street at the Ballpark, taking up almost all of the available parking in the area!

The above photo is Kooky checking out what we are carrying up to wait in line with besides taking her!

Kooky Kook The Pig Can't Believe It's Sold Out Already, as the SD Convention Center Is So HUGE!

Kooky 'Kook' The Pig reading the 'warning sign' that the Comic Con was TOTALLY Sold Out before the Doors were even opened!!!

Kooky The Pig and Tina sort thru the good stuff from 2008 Comic Con Goodies Bag!

We were among the first 250 Comic Con 2008 attendees to check into the registration area. Kooky 'Kook' The Pig was amazed how quickly the check in process was!  Attendees had to bring their emailed confirmation codes which were scanned into the on-site computers and a badge was printed! Above is Tina and Kooky sorting out the good stuff from the materials that are not collectible from the entry bag of goodies.  Even paper goodies get 'heavy' during the 3 hour walk through the exhibit hall at the San Diego Convention Center, so we never carry 'junk' materials with us! And we don't pick up the thousands of 'free promotional' literature all the networks and film companies for the same reason. The 'swag' has to be really good the first night for us to carry it around!!

Well... We have packed the drinks, the snacks, the boxes and tubes for posters, and the clothes for Comic Con that starts tomorrow July 23rd with Preview Night in San Diego California...

Kooky has been a big help, but now it is time to wrap up everything else that has to be done...

Including placing the eBay Featured Store on 'vacation mode', adding that note also to the almost 5,000 listings that are running and re-listing more items that can be purchased, but not shipped while we are at the Comic Con ...

We will putting our sales email address on auto responder also, and hopefully not driving anyone crazy with bouncing emails!

For those of you interested in upcoming films and TV Show promotional items, we invite you to check back on our blog posts after Comic Con, when we'll be listing and blogging about what we've seen there this year!

Kooky 'Kook' The Pig wanted to know if any 'Stars' ever come to the SDCC Comic Con International?  All we had to do was pull out this pic from last year's 2007 Comic Con showing that both Marina Sirtis (Troi) and Levar Burton from Star Trek The Next Generation have been there before, and Kooky was ready to go! Never knew Kooky was a 'Trekker'!!

We've already told Kooky 'Kook' The Pig to knock off hitting the Comic Con snacks.... as who wants a realllllly fat pig for the cameras!

Then again... with 125,000 attendees there at the San Diego Comic Con this week, hopefully the concession stands don't run out of food with a little 'fat pig' roaming around the halls!

We Will Be Missing The Premiere Of The X-Files Movie...

We Will Be Missing The Premiere Of The X-Files Movie...

As We Will Be At the San Diego Comic Con This Week!

So I'll just repost Tina's blog from last month (June 9th) regarding her thoughts on this film we want to see after Comic Con Week:

Our old friends Mulder and Scully come
to a theater near you on July 25, 2008 and I for one, can't wait.  If you haven't seen the trailer yet, check it out online at the official  X-Files  site.  (Sorry I can't give you the link - it's off eBay.) Click on the teaser trailer - it'll get your heart racing.

Just hearing the opening theme music takes me back to sitting home on a Friday night eagering anticipating having the crap scared out of me.  In fact, after the "Worm Man" and that guy who crawled through electrical sockets, I couldn't watch the show unless I had other adult supervision.

Twentieth Century Fox will only say that the story takes place in present time six years after the end of the television show, and it doesn't involve aliens. The movie will be a stand-alone super-natural thriller similar to the creepy scary episodes we loved from the tv series.

If the movie fulfills the promise of the trailer, we're in for an exciting and satisfying time. Setting the action in the frozen north is genius.  Immediately, the characters are isolated in an eerie setting - it instantly ratches up the tension.

And speaking of tension, Mulder says, "I need you on this with me, Scully."  You need her - no kidding!

And, we need Mulder and Scully back!

Meanwhile, if you can't wait for  X-Files The Movie and you need to have the crap scared out of you, check out these classic Horror comics:  'Dark Mansion', 'Ghost Stories', 'Dracula', and 'Frankenstein', oh my!

We have an ongoing Comic Con and Pop Culture  convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post and please come back to visit us again!

This 25th Anniversary Celebration of Return Of The Jedi...

This 25th Anniversary 'Celebration' of Star Wars:  Return Of The Jedi...

Is Not On The Official SDCC Comic Con Programming Schedule!

So this 'Annoucement' In our Blog is brought to you as a 'Public Service Announcement'... a 'PSA' in other words!

Sure....!!

Tina would say it would be just another opportunity to show 'Slave Girl Leias' photos in our Blog, LOL!

But seriously, I just saw this on another web site, and could see that it was a late posting.

The 'celebration' will be at the Gentle Giant Booth at the San Diego Comic Con July 25th 2008 at 11:00 AM PST.

It is supposed to be a Slave Leia Group Photo with Jabba The Hut. I had to reduce the photo for it to show properly in this blog post, but the 'small print' includes: Costume must be a bikini. Females in the costume only. Participants must be 18 years of age or older.

Appears that the promoters of this 'event' are covering all the bases with the 'small print'.

Not that I'll be there on Friday, as I already have 3 possible programs I want to attend, but I couldn't pass up blogging about this 'event'!

BTW, we also have an ongoing Comic Con  and Pop Culture convention here at Make It So Marketing, what with our daily blog posts and listings of items for sale!

Thanks for reading this post today and please join us again as we blog about the 2008 Comic Con before it starts and after we get back!
