Happy Early Birthday...

Stan Lee!

We want to make sure to wish Stan Lee a Happy Birthday before we close down for the holidays!

Stan (the Man) Lee was born December 28th, 1922 in New York City, New York.

He will be celebrating his 85th birthday!

Amazingly a lot of the 'mainstream' public only knows him as Stan Lee, Movie Cameo Super-Star!

Or they know him as the Super-Star Host of 'Stan lee's Who Wants To Be A Superhero?' TV Show!!

However he was born as Stanley Martin Lieber to his Romanian-born Jewish immigrant parents. 

He took the pen name 'Stan Lee', saving his real name for his Great American Novel... but he achieved vast fame and success as The Man 'Stan Lee'!

Indeed, it was his run on The Fantastic Four with Jack Kirby that kept me interested in comic books for so long!

Our best wishes and many thanks for the years of enjoyment he has given us!

Even superheroes stop saving the world long enough to enjoy Christmas!

So we will be emulating some of our favorite superheroes and shutting down soon to enjoy the holidays!

We will be putting the eBay Featured Store on 'vacation' mode as well!

Holiday Season - 2003 At Fess Parker's Wine Country Inn & Spa

We are getting ready to our do our final shipping runs and close down for the holiday week.

Four years ago we closed down and went to the Santa Ynez Valley, California and enjoyed our own 'Sideways' wine tour before the movie came out, which increased the crowds in the area!

We also made time to have great food, and saved a special night to dine at Fess Parker's Restaurant after conducting a wine tasting at his Winery which is close to the Inn in Los Olivos.

One of the earliest things I can remember from my childhood was our black and white TV set where I saw several TV Shows including one of my folks' favorites, 'Walt Disney'.

I definitely can remember those early years of watching Fess Parker as 'Davy Crockett' and made sure I would re-watch them when they were repeated years later!

Of course younger bloggers would remember him as Daniel Boone, star of a TV Show that ran for several years!

Tina and I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Fess Parker at his Inn/Restaurant in Los Olivos, California that special night. Our photo with him is at the top left.

I appreciated meeting the man who had given me so many years of entertainment and was a good role model for me while growing up!

Here's hoping that we and you have a Happy Holiday Season this year, as good as ours was in 2003!

And Ready To Pose At The Convention As...

Wonder Woman !

As mentioned previously in this blog, one of the fun things to do at pop culture or comic book conventions is to either dress up like your favorite comic book character or TV Show / Movie Star...

Well, the New York Comic Con 2007 attendee to the top left did just that when she came as the blonde Cathy Lee Crosby TV Film version of Wonder Woman. However She wore Lynda Carter's WW costume version not Cathy's!

What? I mention Lynda and don't run a pic of her! That's right!  This is NOT a blog post with a pic of Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman!  What is the blog world coming to when I don't post a pic of my fave Lynda ??!!

However, it is great that more and more fans are coming to the cons dressed up, and not just for the masquerades shows!

Which Is Why He Likes To Be Nearby When She Is Getting Her Picture Taken!

Well.... what other reason would a Marvel Comics Superhero be doing associating with a DC Comics Superheroine at the San Diego Comic Con International 2007!

Wonder Woman hasn't had a movie or TV show in years, and he just had one go straight to DVD this past summer!

But still most of the 'mainstream' public wouldn't have a clue as to who he is!
