| For Those of You That Missed The Premiere, Here is Our Review of Pilot Episode of New TV Show: One Sentence Snyposis: 'CHUCK is a NBC show that follows a regular help-desk worker who must save the world after downloading the CIA’s database into his brain'. (SPOILER WARNING: Don't read the below IF you don't want to know what happened!) The show starts in Echo Park, Los Angeles, California. We are at a birthday party for Chuck, thrown by his sister.... While Chuck is there at the party, feeling uncomfortable and not fitting in with his sister's friends, his ex-college roommate, Bryce, is downloading information from a computer that is housed in a giant room that he broke into. Byrce is killed for his tresspassing... why??? (We find out later he was a CIA Agent.) Bryce had downloaded the data and sends it in an e-mail to Chuck, who hadn't heard from him for like five years! Chuck opens the e-mail, it's in a special game program that he and Bryce had worked on in college.... and then pictures flash in front of him, and he passes out.... Cut to next morning when Chuck and his buddy Morgan head off to work. 'Work' is at the store called 'Buy More' (Best Buy), and Chuck and Morgan work in the 'Nerd Herd' (Geek Squad) department. Which explains his company car being a new Beetle with 'Nerd Herd' logos plastered all over it. The adventure begins: A gorgeous female customer comes in and needs help to fix her camera phone. Morgan is transfixed by her, Chuck is also floored that she appears to be interested in him! Being a 'nerd' in real life as well as in his work life, well... he is not used to girls coming on to him especially one like this 'Sarah'! Cut to Chuck arriving home after work, in time to see a 'ninja' type looking thief attempting to steal his computer. Buddy Morgan and he attempt to take on the thief, and of course lose the one-sided battle. We, the audience, see that the 'ninja' is really Sarah, who turns out to also be a CIA Agent, who posed as the customer at Buy More earlier. (Continued top of next column.) | (continued from first column) Long story short... Sarah comes back to store as a customer, Chuck gets asked out, they go to dinner... etc etc... We do find out that Chuck actually lives with his sister and her boyfriend, who they call 'Captain Awesome'....At dinner, we see men who turn out to be from the NSA come after Chuck and Sarah... Sarah of course saves them from the NSA guys... and we and the NSA team leader and Sarah learn that Chuck is a walking computer as he can access all the data that flashed before him when he 'read' the e-mail! The episode ends with Chuck realizing a bomb will go off soon at a nearby hotel where an important General is giving a keynote address, so he, Sarah and the NSA guy attempt to defuse it! The series ending teaser is that Chuck realizes he has nowhere to run from the NSA, CIA, or other government intelligence agencies so.... Tina thought the pilot episode was cute, and that the characters were appealing... except for the NSA guy. Me... well I am adding this to our list of TV Shows to be watched this year, as it was appealing to me also!
