The Twin Towers of the World Trade Center...

... have been featured in magazines, books, movies, newspapers etc.

Pictures were taken before the 9-11 tragedy and after which are vivid in our minds.

Matter of fact, the early posters of the Spider-Man Movie were reprinted to take the Twin Towers out of the poster due to the timing of the movie.

However, one thing I've notice is that the Comic Books that have the Twin Towers on their covers have slowly been disappearing from circulation.

Could be that more mainstream readers are buying these for remembrance sake and putting them away....

We have not seen many of these ourselves at conventions, and have been asked if we have any in stock.

Just click on the comic book cover at the top left to see what listings we have for sale should you be interested in this subject.

Because YOU Wouldn't Want To Be Their 'Pet' Would YOU?

We listed one of these this weekend, blogged about last night, and it sold overnight!

So, I went thru our backstock and found one more for you Parakeet Lovers!

It is the last issue of the series that DC Comics published!

Issue #1 of this series started  August / September of 1950  and this final issue was the September / October 1973 issues.

Since we are the proud owners of the smartest parakeet I've ever had, this comic book cover is hilarious to us!!

Tina can't stop laughing whenever she see it in back issues bins, and usually a copy or two ends up in our 'buy' stack. Funny thing is, we've sold multiple copies of this comic to parakeet lovers over the years!!

Just click on the comic book cover to the top left for this issue and other Sci-Fi Comics we have for sale!

Conan Movie... Where's Red Sonja's! HEROES TV Show Exclusive Comic Book!

She's The Incredible Hulk's Cousin!

And Where's Her Comic Book Movie??? Seems she should get one before some of these other ones in developement!

Especially after what Tina and I saw of the upcoming 'Hulk' Movie at the SDCC program in July!

Click Here to see Tina's 'Take' on that preview program!

OK, we know that in the late 1980s, Marvel Comics approached Brigitte Nielsen to pose for photographs dressed as the comic book character She-Hulk.

Brigitte had previously impressed the company with her prior portrayal of their character Red Sonja and accordingly they hoped she would prove just as successful in a new movie venture.

Unfortunately the photos that were produced did not enlicit a large amount of investors in the potential film and Marvel was forced to scrap the project.

The middle left photo shows Brigitte modelling a skimpy outfit and I 'photoshopped' the photo to reflect a greenish hue about her, as the She-Hulk is green like her cousin the Incredible Hulk!  You can see that Brigitte definitely had the body double of the She-Hulk at that time!

There are very few pics of Brigitte dressed as the She-Hulk, with the one to the top left being one of those.  As you can see by comparing the two aforementioned photos, Brigitte would have come across very well as the She-Hulk, alter ego of Jennifer Walters, who is a lawyer in her day job.

Since I first blogged about this previous non-movie, there has been some interest in producing a movie with the She-Hulk. We will keep you blogged on details as they come up!

She-Hulk is currently being published in a on-going title, and up to issue #22 this series!

I personally enjoyed the second comics series, which had John Byrne write and pencil the series, where She-Hulk would break the 'fourth wall' and talk to readers of the comics, knowing that she was in a comic book with her adventures being told.  Kind of a strange humour book, but when reading the comic it makes more sense...

That wraps it up for this blog post... But I wanna see She-Hulk in a movie, not her less 'incredible' Hulk cousin's next movie!

Bronze Age Comic Book Trilogy

This Third Party Graded Comic Book Was Just Listed This Week For the First Time!

It closes TODAY, Sunday at 19:04:47 PDT  SEP-30-07.

This issue is the middle issue of the trilogy of where the Black Panther went after the Klan in the comic book title 'Marvel Premiere'.

The exact issues were #51 - 52 - 53.  These make interesting reading and we have sent a few for encapuslation purposes due to their NM (Near Mint) or better grade.

Comics do tackle some serious issues, it is not all 'funnybook' material like it was in the mid 1950's to early 1960's.

We also have reading copies of these issues, should you have interest in reading this trilogy in how this subject was treated. Just click on the comic book cover to the top left to view the listings!
