Even Though Our Blogging Was Affected By Our Evacuation This Past Week...

23,000

Virtual Visitors So Far...

Have stopped in at our Blog with its' multiple blog posts!

Things just haven't been the same since we were evacuated last Monday due to the San Diego County Fires for us.

Since returning, I have been checking out what else needs to be graded and listed, listing, and re-listing items. Leaving minimal time for actual blogging.

Additionally, having found that we were not prepared to leave suddenly, has made me realize that we need to get our important items centralized for packing in the cars easier. Amazing what you can't get into your vehichles that you want to save!

However we hit the 23,000 mark at 10:23 AM PDT yesterday with a view of our October 22nd 2007 blog post. How fitting that the 23,000th visitor was viewing  'San Diego County Fires May Affect Our Business' blog post!

For those that are new to us, here is a little Background on our Blog:

This Blog started June 7th 2006 shortly after eBay announced the new format.

July 15th 2006 we added on a stats counter as we found most viewers read but didn't comment!

July 6th 2007 we hit the 10,000th visitor mark, (not hits but visitors).

July 16th 2007 marked the 11,000th visitor!

September 5th 2007 the 15,000th visitor mark was reached...

September 21st 17,000 visitors was the new number!

September 27th 18,000 visitors had stopped in!

October 9th found us at 20,000 visitors!

October 15th found us at 21,000 visitors!

October 20th had us at 22,000 visitors!

And then yesterday October 27th at 23,000 visitors!

That's Visitors, not page views! (Page views are approximately 81,000 now.)

We want to thank ALL of you for stopping in and visiting our Blog!

Join us for more blog posts on TV Shows, Movies, Comics, Books, DVDs, etc. in the near future as we attempt to get back to a more regular blogging schedule!

For earlier more recent blog posts, just click on the 'squares' in the left column to view!

For our archived blog posts, please be aware that eBay techs have revised the blogging format, thus our archived posts may be distorted to read... sorry about that but it is out of our control here!

'Our Take' - Next Great American Band - 10-26-07
Mood:  d'oh
Topic: TV Shows

Rock Comics Listed Here!  TV and Movies Comics Listed Here!

Last Friday Night We Watched The First Performance Show of 'The Next Great American Band' TV Show on Fox.

We were going to blog post mention The Premiere Show earlier, but had to evacuate our home because of the San Diego County Fires on Monday...

The Premiere Show took the 60 top bands from video entries and the three judges sorted them out to the Final 12 Bands outside of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Last Night we watched the first performance show of the bands. The following is 'Our Take' On the Bands' Performances.

This is similar to our format on 'Our Take' Of American Idol Performance Shows.

Band #Name Of BandMichael's TakeSpread vs.Tina's Take
1Denver & Mile High Band7.51.506.0 No Big Bad Voodoo Daddy
2The Hatch51.006.0 Dylan Good, original 'sucked' 6.0
3Light of Doom4.0 Glad they dedicated their original song to victims of SD Co Fire1.003
4The Likes of You6.25 Dylan Cover Was Better1.257.5 Lead singer can't end the song right.
5RocketDylan's Cover 9.5 But Avg'd 8.50.509.0 Most commercial so far tonight
6Cliff Wrangler & the Old #7cover 8.5 Avg'd 7.251.75cover very good, fantastic band, but they'll never make it through 9.0
7The Muggs3.52.506.0  don't like lead singer's voice
8Clark Broscover 6.5 original 9.0 Billy the Kid, Avg' 8.01.009.0 very good
9Tres Biencover good, original OK 7.5, more like a British 1960's mod band0.507.0 almost like a novelty band
10Franklin Bridgecover good, original not as good 7.02.509.5 - want to vote twice for them!
11Dot Dot Dotcover- very good, original not so good 7.250.75cover very good original brings them down 8.0
12Six Wirecover ok, original was repeat of first show 7.250.257.0 find them boring

For those of you that missed the show... Each Band had to cover one of Bob Dylan's songs and then follow up with an original song of their own.

Due to space limitations because of all twelve bands performing, the following are just a few notes from last nite:

Re: Band #5 - Dicko didn't like the Bluegrass band, BUT he's from The Australian Idol TV Show. Thought this is supposed to be the Next Great AMERICAN band!  What's an Aussie doing judging bluegrass??

The Host is from the New Zealand Idol TV Show...  Just not right... nothing against Australians or New Zealanders, just this is supposed to be 'American'!!

Sheila E should NOT have said Band #10 is going to win!! We have so many weeks ahead to watch, what's up with that??!!

Next week:  The TWO Bands with the lowest vote counts won't play next week.... So No 'Results Show' like American Idol. Next week the cover song is to be one of Elton John's...

Glad something is finally on Friday Nights for us! What's your thoughts on this show? Just post your comments below!

For those that are wondering what the 'tie-in' is for us... we have Rock Comic Books for sale in our eBay Featured Store!

North San Diego County - We Are Open For Business
Mood:  caffeinated
Topic: eBay Info

Welcome To Our World! Our Shipments AREN'T delivered by the Batmobile, Just the USPS!

To Our Customers, Bloggers and New Readers:

Have received some emails regarding our situation out here in North San Diego County area asking if we are open for business, how the fire has affected us, etc.

Our home/home office was not affected by the fires around us during the past few days.

We  have taken the 'vacation mode' off our eBay Featured Store, and have been busy invoicing and shipping orders that would have been shipped earlier this week except for being evacuated.

All orders paid through Thursday morning have been shipped, and are enroute to their buyers.

Have not listed anything new this week, due to being evacuated, but needed to get caught up with the shipping process first!

In regards to SD County as of 7:00 AM PDT, the Horno Fire North of us in Camp Pendleton is 50% contained.

The Witch Fire is still burning on Palomar Mountain area in the Northeast.

Ramona residents were allowed to return last night, although there will be no water for several days to come.

The Harris Fire in South County is still burning in the East County. The South Bay of San Diego area, (National City, Imperial Beach, etc. are OK).

So although the immediate coastal area is out of the fire crisis,
with exception of Camp Pendleton, the area is not yet back to normal, due to the ashes still falling and unhealthy air conditions.

We are fine, our family members within San Diego County area are fine, and we are back on track this morning.

I personally want to thank KUSI channel 9 (independent) TV for such great coverage of the Fires, and KGTV channel 10 ABC for their continuous coverage.  These two stations were the ones that I relied on for updates during the past days, as they did not break from the fires coverage.

Again, we are open, shipping is caught up, and we will be having new listings up again shortly.  Maybe even a blog post on comics or pop culture even in the near future...

Thanks to all of you who read our previous blog posts, commented and / or emailed us during this week.

San Diego County Fires - 10-24 3:00PM PDT Update
Mood:  d'oh
Topic: eBay Info

Welcome To Our World! Our Shipments AREN'T delivered by the Batmobile, Just the USPS!

To Our Customers, Bloggers and New Readers:

Earlier this morning, I blogged that we were able to come back to our home office.

SD County is still having troubles with fires as of this time. However the fires for the most part are way North, NorthEast, East, and SouthEast of us.

However, as I am still catching up on processing orders and emails, etc... the lights are flickering once again.

The local TV stations are saying that several power lines are down, and that the main lines bringing power to our region are either down or in danger.

So just posting this blog post to state how our conditions are here in North San Diego County, in case we do go off-line for a while....

Our eBay Featured Store has been taken off 'vacation mode' earlier this morning.

Our packages that are paid for are projected to ship for this Friday.

San Diego County Fires - Update From Make It So Marketing
Mood:  a-ok
Topic: eBay Info

Welcome To Our World! Our Shipments AREN'T delivered by the Batmobile, Just the USPS!

To Our Customers, Bloggers and New Readers:

Our area's evacuation order has been lifted.

We are back... and partially unloaded as the fires are still
going strong north of us in Camp Pendleton, northeast of us in Fallbrook, and south of us in Rancho Santa Fe.

Additionally there are fires in East County headed to the desert, and  Southeast close to the Mexican Border east of Chula Vista/Otay Mesa.

Interstate Freeway 5, the coastal route is now closed north of us, as Camp Pendleton is burning at this time.

Yesterday the only other route out of San Diego was closed, I-15 as a different fire crossed the freeway there. It is open at this time, the only way out of San Diego if you are headed to Orange or Los Angeles Counties. That is a very wide detour to get there!

Highway 94 is closed which is the route out of San Diego to the southern border of San Diego County.

I-8 is threatened at this time.

Highway 67 is still closed from Santee up to Poway/Ramona.

So with the onshore winds from the ocean going east fighting the Santa Ana Winds from the east going west, the fires are going in all different directions.

Have re-set up our home office and taken the 'vacation mode' off the eBay Store... however shipping will not be handled until later in the week.

San Diego County and Federal Courts are all closed for SD County, the school districts, from K-12 are all closed, and the traffic was light on the roads this morning as residents are urged to stay inside due to bad air outside almost everywhere.

I have quickly looked at our last post to copy the template to post here, and want to thank all those that wished us well!

Will be pulling the latest orders purchased while we were evacuated, and get them ready for shipping later in the week.

Only a few mandatory evacuation areas have been opened to allow residents back in. It is still terrible out here in a lot of SD County. Just because our area is OK to go back to does NOT mean that SD County is out of danger yet.
