Do What??

Why Pull Our Blog Over The 20,000 Visitors Mark Today!

'Ghostly Haunts' was a comic book series from Charlton Comics!

It ran from issue #20 in September of 1971 to issue #58 in April of 1978!

In the early 1970's The Big Two Comics Companies, Marvel and National (DC) Comics were expanding their HoRRoR and supernatural superhero comics lines.

This gave Charlton, the perennial #3 publisher, an opportunity to publish comic titles with the tried-and-true formula of having a 'host' or 'hostess' introduce the ghostly stories in the comic!

There were several good artists including Steve Ditko (who drew the cover at the top left), that drew the stories.

However, Charlton for years would use cheaper production methods and paper, thus causing the comics to have a 'cheaper' feel about them!  Which is why it is hard to find VF or better copies for sale today!

To see what issues we have in stock, just click on the comic book cover to the top left!

Upcoming CONAN Movie!

For you Conan Fans this is Good News finally!

Conan Properties International has announced that they have inked a deal with Millenium Films to bring Conan back to the Big Screen.

With so many other comics properties in development and or in limbo, this deal stipulates that the film must be 'green-lit' in 2008.

No word yet on who would portray the Cimmerian!

Would you have someone in mind if you were doing the casting?

In my mind, Arnold WAS the perfect choice in the earlier movies!!

Digg!

'Our Take'

Today there were several blog posts commenting about how NBC's 'Heroes' TV Show is not gathering momentum due to its' lead-in show 'Chuck' not delivering an audience.

Well, Tina and I watch this show, and are enjoying it!

However it is not a good lead in for those who are waiting to watch 'Heroes' IMHO.

'Chuck' is the kind of show that I used to watch as a kid in the 1960's, just updated for the 2000's.

However 'Heroes' is a far 'darker' show, and IMHO not suitable for younger kids who would be watching the earlier show.

Chuck is happier in tone, funny, and is starting to build characterization in its main roles.

The premise of the show was a little lightweight, but the plot line is developing, and is a show I look forward to on Monday Nights!

Especially when there isn't a Monday Night Football Game worth watching!

Those of you with young kids, that are wanting to watch something on TV that is fun and family viewable, this is it.  However, send the kids to bed before watching the next show!

That Are Featured

In This Comic Book Series!

'The Brave And The Bold' was from National (DC) Comics!

It ran from August of 1955 to July 1983 with exactly 200 issues!

The first issues featured Viking Prince, Silent Knight, and The Golden Gladiator!

Then came Robin Hood, Suicide Squad and finally starting in issue #28, the three issue try-out of Justice League of America (JLA)!

Hawkman, Suicide Squad, Strange Sports Stories and more features were next.

Then DC tried pairing two of their superheroes each issue, and with issue #67 it would basically be Batman and a guest superhero each month from then on.

So this is also a good set for Batman collectors to pick up! To see what issue we have in stock, just click on the comic book cover to the top left!
