Belit... Another REH Creation !
Mood:  a-ok
Topic: Comic Book History

Belit

Is Just One Of The Many Characters That

REH (Robert E Howard)

 Brought To Life!

Robert E Howard, (REH), created Red Sonja, Conan The Barbarian, King Kull, Solomon Kane and others during his short life in Texas!

Marvel Comics included Belit in the Conan The Barbarian Comics in the 1970's culminating in the Death of Belit in Conan's issue #100!

Belit was first published in 1934 when REH had his 'Queen of the Black Coast' story printed in the May 1934 issue of Weird Tales!

Basically, Conan found Belit as follows: In the seacoast kingdom of Argos, after a brush with the Hyborian legal system, Conan hops aboard a southward bound ship. Off the coasts of Kush the ship is boarded by black corsairs under the Shemitish she-devil, Bêlit. Conan joins her crew, becomes her consort, and for a long time they harry the Hyborian and Stygian ports. During this stage of his career, Conan gains the name of Amra, the Lion, which is to follow him throughout his later life!

Check out our newest listings, including the Pocket Books and Red Sonja, Conan the Barbarian Comics and more Sword & Sorcery Comics listings by clicking the top right comic book cover!

Listings start at only 99cents!

Get Smart Soon !

Get Smart Soon!

VERY Soon!

June 20th!

We read about the upcoming 6-20-08 movie in the SDCC 2007 program book at last year's Comic Con.

We even touted the program that the movie would be presented at the Con here in our blog.

The photo to the top right show just two of the cast members that attended that special program!

We have already blogged about the movie poster, and showed the opening credits from the 1960's TV Show in previous blog posts here...

Seeing all this goin on really gets me excited about the upcoming movie!

This could be a decent update of the original TV Series that I enjoyed as a kid!

In this updated movie, Steve Carell (as Maxwell Smart) and Anne Hathaway (as Agent 99) take over the roles originally played by Don Adams and Barbara Feldon who were perfect casting!

Steve and Anne will be joined by a cast that includes Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson (as Agent 23), Alan Arkin (as The Chief) and Terrence Stamp (as Siegfried).

The movie's plotline appears to be a familar one, it is supposed to follow the agents of CONTROL as they battle KAOS.

I am not always a fan of updated TV Shows or updated Theatrical Movies... for the most part I am usually disappointed.

However, if the Movie Poster, and the enthusiasm of the cast is any indication of what the movie will be like... then the production staff is on the right track!

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post! We do have several TV and Movie Comics / Mags listed for sale. Just click on the photo cover of the comic book to view all of our listings!

So Why Not 'Her' For The She-Hulk Film???
Mood:  quizzical

So Why Not 'Her'

For The

 She-Hulk Film?

Click here to see our SHE-HULK Listings!

I have been asked why there has been no mention of Eva Mendes as being considered as the She-Hulk in our Blog.

Well... it was considered, and I have been thinking about posting that her co-star in Ghost Rider, Nicholas Cage, had wanted her to be considered for the possible role.

So when the above photo to the right was sent to us, I decided to publish this blog post today.

The possible film has gone nowhere... even tho the She-Hulk is sassy, sexy and so right for an offbeat superhero movie...

As for the choice of Eva as the 'She-Hulk', you take a look at the pic and think about it!

And yes... we do have She-Hulk comics for sale! Just click the photo at the top right!

Thanks for reading this popular culture - comics - comic books blog post!

Our Take On
The American Idol
Results Show
03-06-08

Thursday Night was the 'Results Show' where the results of "America's" votes were broadast.

This was the Third Results Show of Season 7, where 2 'boys' and 2 'girls' were sent home.

The below were the scores of the contestants that were sent home as ranked by Tina and Michael on the night of their performance:

The 'Results'

(No #)

Name of ContestantMichael's TakeScore DifferenceTina's Take
1Kady Malloy   6.0  0.56.5
2

Luke Menard

   6.5   0.57.0
3

Asia'h Epperson

   6.0   0.06.0
4Danny Noriega (pictured above)   6.0   1.07.0

The votes for so early in the process were higher in number. Almost 36 million votes came in.

The following are our thoughts after watching the performances nights and the results show night:

Tina said that she was right again!  On all 4 of her choices that were going home...

Michael said that all 4 contestants tonight sang their finale song better than when they performed for the votes... could it be that the stress was over and they loosened up??!!

Next week on March 11th, the Top 12 Contestants go to a New Set!  Plus that is the Night the Lennon-McCartney Songbbook is opened for the first time for American Idol! We'll be looking forward to it!

For those that missed our previous blog posts on this TV Show.... Please see the following link for our most previous blog post. We have been blogging about Season 7 since the first week:
