Knight Rider Film... TV Series???
Mood:  a-ok
Topic: TV Shows

The Knight Rider / KITT Film!

KITT?

Knight Industries Three Thousand!

Note: Please 'Click Here' for our October 2007 blog post about the then upcoming film.

The 2 hour movie was shown on Saturday February 23rd on TV.

I just got around to watching it, as Tina didn't want to watch it, as she had not been 'into it' when the first series was on 25 years ago...

So the following are my thoughts only!

The storyline seemed to be a little contrived at first, but then it got a lot better! Possibly because this was a 2 hr movie, a lot of tie-ins had to be explained quickly thus seeming contrived...

I did find the new KITT, a modified Mustang, to be a great car for the 2000's film.

The main actors all did their performances well, and the adding of the original Michael Knight (rider) at the end was a great touch of tying the old series in with the new!

That I liked, unlike the new Bionic Woman TV Series that had no tie-in with the old!

I for one would like to see a new TV Series with this cast! It would be watchable IMHO!

Our Take On American Idol Results Show Of 03-12-08!

This Is A Repost Of:
Our Take On
The American Idol
Results Show
'The Top 12'
03-12-08

Wednesday Night was the 'Results Show' where the results of "America's" votes were broadast, with the ending result of one contestant being sent home...

The below were the scores of the contestants in the 'bottom three' of the Top 12, as ranked by Tina and Michael on the night of their performance:

The 'Bottom 3 Of The Top 12'

(No #)

Name of ContestantMichael's TakeScore DifferenceTina's Take
1Sayesha Mercado   7.5   1.06.5
2

Kristy Lee Cook

   8.5   1.57.0
3

David Hernandez

   6.0   0.06.0

The votes for the performances were MUCH LOWER in number. A little over 29 million votes came in.  So were there glitches in calling, or did the interest in the show peak for a while already? Last week it was over 36 million votes!

Of course Fox would have to cross-promote their new film with Jim Carey being a 'guest' last night.  We'll pass comments on that silliness.

There were also some 'call-ins' from the TV Audience, which would cut out a lot of West Coasters, as the show is televised 'live' for the East Coast.  Interesting how Ryan kept skipping the 50 year old caller to take younger callers' questions....

The special performance by Catherine McPhee and David Foster showed how much Catherine has matured after her performances on Idol... good job last night!

The following are our thoughts after watching the results show night:
Tina said that she figured that David Hernandez would be the one to go home... as he and David Archuleta were her lowest scoring contestants. However Archuleta would have a big fan base to keep him going in the competition and wouldn't be in any danger of leaving.

Tina also said that she was 'Spot On' as Simon sez in his sizing up of the bottom three...

Michael said that he figured that 'America', (whoever that is), wouldn't agree with him on Kristy's performance, but didn't care.
He liked her performance... and there was just enough 'country' fans watching Tuesday night to make a slight difference in Kristy not going home right away.  However, FYI, Kristy is not one of his 'favorites' in the competition as Tina keeps suggesting!

So who got the 'Ticket To Ride' as Ryan said?? Well, Sayesha and Kristy lived on for another week, while David Hernandez was sent home.

Tina says of the Top 12, he would be her choice to go home... as she had grown to not like his performances.

Michael said basically the same....

Next week on March 18th, the Top 11 Contestants continue to sing from the Lennon-McCartney Songbbook!  Hopefully the contestants' second choice from such a wide range of songs will be better!

Arthur C Clarke Writer Of 2001 And More Passes...
Mood:  sad
Topic: Comic Book History

Sir Arthur C Clarke

 Writer Of '2001'

 And More Passes...

Arthur C Clarke, best known for writing the Sci-Fi Book '2001' and collaborating with Stanley Kubrick on the '2001' Film, passed away earlier today.

Arthur was born December 16, 1917 in England.

His first professional sale as a writer was to 'Astounding Science Fiction' in 1946.

He wrote many short stories, and became a full time writer in 1951.

He was also considered a 'futurist' with his visions of what would come to pass in the future. Several of those were placed in a book title 'Profiles of the Future', published in 1962.

I enjoyed several of his works... which will live on...
